Rain chances fade as Father's Day approaches
We've seen lower coverage of rain and storms across the area, and storm chances will be reduced to start Father's Day weekend.
The scattered showers and storms will fade away Friday evening, with quiet conditions overnight. Morning lows will be in the mid-70s.
Scattered showers and storms will again develop on Saturday, with the best chance in the afternoon and evening hours. Coverage is expected to be similar to Friday, with highs in the mid-90s.
Even more dry air is expected for Father's Day. Expect just widely scattered showers and storms for Sunday, with temperatures in the low 90s.
The somewhat drier air will remain in place to start next week. Monday will feature scattered PM showers and storms and highs in the low 90s.
Just a few isolated storms are anticipated for the middle of next week, with highs in the mid-90s.
Moisture does begin to work back into the area by Juneteenth Thursday, bringing higher rain chances back to the area.

Father's Day weekend weather predicted to be hot, dry for South Florida
The NEXT Weather Team is tracking a hot and mostly dry Father's Day Weekend for South Florida as afternoon highs linger in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Despite this being near-average, it will still feel like summer with "feels like" temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. While isolated showers will be possible throughout the morning and early afternoon, chances are only at 20% and most will remain dry. This trend continues for Father's Day as highs peak around 90 degrees. If you're looking to beat the heat by heading out to the coast, there is a moderate rip current risk at the beach and no alerts out on the water. Don't forget the sunscreen as the UV Index is "extreme" today and will most likely remain that way for at least the next several days. Looking ahead to next week, our weather pattern remains consistent with highs around 90 and no significant rain chances over the next 7 days.

Storm Team 3: Heat & humidity continue for Father's Day Weekend
We're staying hot and humid into Father's Day weekend as temperatures continue to soar into the low 90s and heat indices into the triple digits. Make sure you're staying cool and hydrated as you're out and about celebrating the holiday weekend. As we continue to see this heat and humidity, we continued to see the unsettled weather pattern. The 'rinse and repeat' continues for the weekend, as we have a chance of scattered showers and storms both today and tomorrow afternoon and evening. If you have plans outside, make sure to keep an eye on the sky and have a plan b just in case. The unsettled weather pattern continues into the work week as temperatures continue to increase. Highs reach the mid 90s by the middle and end of the week with heat indices continuing to stay in the triple digits as warm, moist air gets pushed in from the south. We'll also continue to see a chance of isolated storms each and every day this week. No severe weather is expected at this time, but be sure to continue to have your umbrella handy along with having indoor back up plans throughout the week. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
