Armea takes over as Sapiro's queen after Ybrahim's death

GMA Network25-06-2025
The realm of Sapiro mourned the loss of its king as Ybrahim (Ruru Madrid) passed away.
Wednesday's episode of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" showed Alena (Gabbi Garcia) being informed of her husband's death.
In tears, Alena expressed that perhaps it was better she was not by his side in his final moments, acknowledging that Ybrahim's heart had long belonged to someone else.
Ybrahim's lifeless body was shown being carried by guards, laid to rest in a ceremonial setup adorned with floral arrangements, befitting his status as Sapiro's beloved ruler.
Once he was left alone, Amihan (Kylie Padilla) appeared at the wake.
She lovingly told Ybrahim she was excited to finally be with him again. The late Sang'gre allowed the mystical group of Retre to take his soul, then disappeared once more.
Armea crowned as queen
In the wake of Ybrahim's passing, Sapiro ushered in a new era as his daughter Armea (Ysabel Ortega) was officially crowned queen in a solemn ceremony.
Among those who celebrated Armea's coronation was Lira (Mikee Quintos), Ybrahim's eldest child.
Despite the honor, Armea expressed hesitation in her new position, admitting that she feels unworthy of the title and even suggested that Lira should lead instead, given her seniority as Ybrahim's firstborn.
However, Lira reassured her that she had long declined the throne, believing that Armea was both destined and deserving to rule Sapiro.
With humility and determination, Armea vowed to do her best as queen, promising to serve and protect Sapiro as her father once did.
"Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs on GMA Network from Mondays to Fridays at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." You can also watch it online via the Kapuso Stream on YouTube. —Carby Rose Basina/MGP, GMA Integrated News

Caloocan City's Arianne Villareal issues statement after using real butterflies at Miss Grand Philippines prelims

Caloocan City bet Arianne Villareal has spoken up about her 'butterfly moment' during the evening gown segment of the Miss Grand Philippines 2025 preliminary round last Sunday. During her walk, the beauty queen incorporated live butterflies into her performance, releasing them in two batches as she posed on stage. Pageant fans expressed concern, especially after a few butterflies were later seen on the floor during the following candidates' walks. In a Facebook post uploaded on Tuesday, Arianne explained the inspiration behind her concept. 'Butterflies have always been a symbol of beauty, growth, and new beginnings. Growing up in the Philippines, I would often see butterflies released during weddings and special occasions, a gesture of hope, freedom, and transformation,' she said. Per Arianne, her intention was to bring 'that same symbolism of metamorphosis and positivity.' She claimed her gesture came from a place of creativity and meaning, never with the intention to cause harm. Arianne acknowledged that the moment may have been interpreted differently by some and expressed her respect for those views. 'Pageantry is about learning, evolving, and celebrating individuality. This experience reminded me that expression can come in many meaningful ways,' she said. Despite the mixed reception, the Caloocan City representative remained optimistic. 'At the end of the day, butterflies remind us that no matter how others see us, we can always grow, transform, and spread our wings with grace,' she said. 'All of us, your Grand Sisters, are giving our very best to put up a good fight and to make our cities, provinces, and communities proud. We are more than ready, full of excitement, and looking forward to seeing you all at the Finals.' The Miss Grand Philippines 2025 Finals is happening on August 24 at SM Mall of Asia Arena. The winner will be crowned by CJ Opiaza, who was crowned Miss Grand International 2024 after India's Rachel Gupta resigned from the post in May.
