Reo Hatate breaks Celtic cover amid exit murmurs as Kyogo fired 'clear' transfer ultimatum with £3.5m bonus alive
The Scottish Cup final is still on the agenda for the Hoops but attention is quickly turning to the summer window
In-demand Reo Hatate has picked up a Celtic highlight from the campaign amid speculation over his future at the club.
The 27-year-old has been a key figure in the Celtic midfield engine room once again this term - but will miss the Scottish Cup final with a knee knock.
But after claiming Premiership and League Cup winners medals already this term reports suggest the Japan international is attracting interest from across Europe.
Udinese are said to be leading the race - with Brazil icon Zico pitching his former side to the Hoops' star.
But as he reflected on the campaign in his Sportiva column, he kept his focus on his Parkhead highlights this term.
Hatate wrote: "My wife told me that on November 5th last year, my mother came to Celtic Park to watch the the Champions League match against Leipzig and cried when she saw me entering the pitch with the Champions League anthem playing.
"I scored my first Champions League goal in that match, and when my wife saw my mother, she cried again. I wonder if I was able to show my parents some gratitude.
"I was happy to score a goal in a game that my mother came to watch. At the same time, I want to show her more success and make her happy."
The Scottish champions are set to bank a payday when Jeremie Frimpong seals his move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen - and that could be followed by sell-on cash from Matt O'Riley's Brighton exit.
But one boost to the coffers that had appeared to be off the table is for Luis Palma with Olympiacos unlikely to pick up the £3.5m option to buy on the Celtic loanee.
However, Greek outlet Sport Today report that Panathinaikos are considering paying the fee to snap up the Honduran winger.
Kyogo Furuhashi is facing an uncertain future after failing to make his mark at Stade Rennes following his £10million January switch from the Hoops.
The 30-year-old failed to score in France while making just one appearance since March in a rare substitute appearance.
And boss Habib Beye has warned his fringe men that a clear out is incoming.
He told Foot7: "All the players who will be at Stade Rennes next season will be sought-after players who want to be 200 per cent involved in this project.
"Anyone who is in limbo will have to see what can happen elsewhere. But they won't be a priority for the club.
"And that's very clear, it's stated by the owner, and it will be defended by the coach as I have done until now. "

‘It was carnage' – I slept in a SKIP the night I made Scottish Cup history with Hibs against Rangers
MADCAP footballer Jason Cummings has told how he slept in a skip the night Hibs won the Scottish Cup for the first time in over a century. Cummings, 29, was part of the Hibs team that defeated Rangers 3-2 at Hampden Park on Saturday 21 May 2016. 3 3 Victory ended a 114 year Scottish Cup hoodoo for the Edinburgh club and sparked unprecedented celebrations among their fans. The following day the team took part in an open top bus victory parade through the capital to their home in Leith. Cummings told the Open Goal podcast: "That group of boys was class. It was carnage. We were right on the bevvies and then we went out on a three or four day bender. "That's the best, after it when you're celebrating in the changing room. The parade was unbelievable as well after that -- just seeing the people, it was like 200-plus-thousand, it was unbelievable. "The night before that parade I woke up in a skip. I was out all night and I swear, see one of those nights where you're out on it non-stop and I mind walking past this skip. "And mate, I'm f****** shattered and I just jumped in there and fell asleep. "The sun woke me up and 'you've got the parade today'. I had to jump out the skip like that and get the suit on, straight back out. I loved it. "It (the parade day) was class. People greeting their eyes out, like 'never seen it in my life', 'you've made my life', 'you'll never need to buy a drink again'. "We were just heros. It was class. Really good." Cummings, who grew up a Hearts fan, became a hero at Hibs. He left the club for Nottingham Forest the following year and was sent out on three loan moves including a spell at Rangers. He also played for Dundee before a life-changing move to Australia. He currently stars for Indian Super League champions Mohun Bagan, based in Kolkata. The striker, who also plays for the Australian national team despite representing Scotland in a friendly, said he's loving life in India. He said: "I love it. It's a different world out there but football-wise it's a different class. "We get 60,000 or 70,000 every game, and the fans just love football. "When I first went I thought obviously cricket is massive there but we're in Kolkata and they just all love football... (I'm the) main man, bigger than the Beatles over there. Can't move walking down the streets." He added: "It's chaos, with the fans. As soon as we leave (the hotel) -- the stadium is right over the road -- it should be a five minute drive but it takes us an hour to get there. "There's flares -- I saw a ten year old on a horse with a flare going to the game." Despite a reputation for his exuberant behaviour, he said he enjoys quieter pursuits in India. 3 He said: "Lifestyle-wise there's not much to do. We'll go out for a wee game of golf with the boys but I play a bit of chess. I'm good at the chess, I love it. "There's so much time over there. When we go back after training we're just in the hotel so it's the same food, everyone is in there, the manager is in there as well, and all the coaches. "There's a tennis court there... a bit of poker. We go out and about but as soon as you go out and about you just get crowded, like proper. "Because there's not many tourists you stick out like a sore thumb. They see me, blond hair and all that, they're just on you for photos, photos, photos. "When my mum came over, she was like Joanna Lumley over there. She was getting surrounded, non-stop, you can't go anywhere. "It's a city of joy, Kolkata, but just so many people. "The maddest thing I've seen, just everyday... cows just going up the street, goats, stray dogs running on the training pitch and that." But he said India offered him something he wouldn't find anywhere else. He added: "It just came about, they were interested and they were proper wanting me. "I looked into it a wee bit and, I don't know, the fanbase and all that. "I saw the games and 60,000 or 70,000 I thought that's a bit me that. "I'll go over there and try it... just the atmosphere at the games, that they all love it over there, I just thought where else can you get that? "I wouldn't get that anywhere else."

Scoring on my Rangers debut felt like a dream but it's a current Celtic hero who has really helped kickstart my career
One former Gers academy graduate has played in two different countries outside of Scotland since his departure two years ago Former Rangers youth prospect Robbie Ure achieved the dream of every Ibrox supporter by scoring within nine minutes of his debut for his boyhood club. But the striker knew deep down that he would have to seek his fortune elsewhere in order to forge a real career for himself. After rising through the youth, Ure went onto feature three times for Gers at first team level after being handed a debut by Gio van Bronckhorst in a League Cup clash against Queen of the South in August 2022, marking the occasion with a debut goal with less than 10 minutes on the clock. However, less than a year later, the now 21-year-old turned down a contract extension in Govan in order to pursue opportunities on the continent. In September 2023, Belgian giants Anderlecht came calling, where the former Scotland international became a teammate of current Celtic stopper Kasper Schmeichel. And while Ure would go onto make just one first team outing for the Brussels side, he has lavished praise on Schmeichel for giving him the confidence to really go out there and show what he would do. Back in March, Ure landed a €750,000 (£632,800) transfer to Swedish top tier club Sirius and has made a fine start to life in Scanandavia, registering five goals and three assists in his first 12 appearances. And the Glasgow-born striker has revealed he has struck up a bit of a friendship with Denmark hero Schmeichel, who he congratulated on his move to Glasgow's East End 12 months ago. Asked in an interview with The Herald about the teammates who have had the biggest impact on his career so far, Ure replied: "I have to say Kasper Schmeichel. "He made me feel really, really comfortable when I was with the first team. He was such a nice person, so easy to talk to. He would speak to you about everything. "He was really good with me, and he would also tell me to keep going and that you've got a real chance here. Just work hard every day and you can see what can happen. "Kasper was someone that really made me feel comfortable when I was with the group and someone that I really appreciate. "I sent him a message when he went to Celtic, but I don't want to say what I said! But he just always says, it is what it is! "But I really appreciated his time. He's such a really good guy and he's got time for everyone. I really appreciate him." Ure has seen the likes of Scott McTominay, Lewis Ferguson and Max Johnston reach new heights after swapping Scotland for the continent in recent years and hopes he can follow a similar path that could maybe lead to a senior Scotland call-up. 'You look at some of the names that have done it and are doing really, really well", he added. "Max Johnston obviously in Austria has got himself into the Scotland A squad now. "The evidence is there that there's a lot of talent in Scotland and they can go abroad and really do well and become a better player. I would really recommend it. "My ambition is just to improve every day and if these things come then that's obviously great. I'm a young player and my full focus is on Sirius and trying to help them, and trying to make sure that I'm improving myself as a player, but also as a team, and scoring and assisting as much as possible. "It would be obviously great to catch the eye of Steve Clarke, but as I say, if that came it would be great."

Injuries have hampered the 27-year-old's Brentford career since then however. Ajer has been playing out of position when he has been fit in recent times, with manager Thomas Frank using the six-foot-five Norway international as a right-back. Ståle Solbakken, manager of the Norway national team, has told Ajer he needs to leave Brentford and England if he wants to improve. He told NRK: "He can be a very good and stable centre-back, and he was today, but he has to change clubs. "He cannot play right-back in every third game if he is to be a proper, safe and good centre-back. Because he has all the prerequisites. 'I think Ajer would have been better suited to playing centre-back in another league. "He has had some tough injuries in England. He will never be a super right-back, at the same level he is as a centre-back. "At the age he is now, I think he is allowed to put his foot down. You can't be a 'cover' right-back at his age now." Ajer has played less than half of the minutes available to him this season with Brentford. Celtic ace Vakoun Bayo dances for his team-mates but Kristoffer Ajer isn't impressed He was originally a midfielder in his early days at Celtic, but matured into a fine central defender for the Hoops. Ajer won three league titles, and the same amount of Scottish Cups and Scottish League Cups during his time in Hoops as he won the treble-treble. He netted the Hoops a whopping £13.5million transfer fee when he left for the Bees. Manager Thomas Frank looks set for Spurs after the sacking of another ex-Celt, Ange Postecoglu, with the Aussie linked with the Brentford job.
