Over a dozen children were left with injuries at Coney Beach Pleasure Park in Porthcawl, Wales, yesterday evening after the ride derailed.
Matthew Baker, 44, was on a family day out when his four-year-old son wanted to go on the Wacky Worm ride.
He described how there was a "jaunting, jiggling noise" after the ride completed one lap.
The ride then suddenly stopped and lifted the train off the rails completely before crashing back down and bouncing up again.
Matthew claims that a section of the security fencing flew off and nearly hit his partner following the impact.
After witnessing the horror, Matthew and two other men rushed to the ride and "ripped" at the gate to reach those still on board.
"My four-year-old had a busted lip - there was a lot of blood - and he has bruises on his body," Matthew told WalesOnline.
"My 15-year-old hurt her left knee, and my 13-year-old daughter, who was sitting behind them, hit her chin so hard her jaw is swollen and she's badly bruised around the ribs."
He added: "Physically, there was nothing major," Matthew said. "But mentally, it's difficult."
Emergency services raced to the scene after witnesses reported seeing the Wacky Worm ride derail shortly before 6pm.

The ride - described by the amusement park's website as "the perfect first thrill ride for kids" - had a number of children on it when it suddenly derailed.
South Wales Police confirmed that 13 children and one adult were injured as a result, with some needing hospital treatment.
Footage circulating on social media shows adults helping the children off the ride.
Witnesses also reported seeing seeing children bloodied after the derailment.
A spokesperson for South Wales Police said yesterday: "Officers were called to Coney Beach Amusement Park, Porthcawl, Bridgend at around 5:50pm this evening following an accident involving one of the rides.
"At this time we have confirmed that 13 children and one adult have sustained minor injuries.
"Some of these have required hospital treatment.
"The amusement park will remain closed tomorrow while officers and health and safety personnel carry out their investigation.
"Please continue to avoid the area to allow Emergency Services access."
Coney Beach Pleasure Park said in a statement that it was instructed by police to clear the site after an accident on a "third party ride" not owned by the park.
The park apologised for the disruption and confirmed it will provide refunds to affected customers as soon as possible.
A statement added: "Due to an incident on a third-party ride not owned by Coney Beach, we were instructed by the police to clear the site for further investigation.
"We apologise for the disruption and will be providing refunds to affected guests as soon as possible. We will be releasing instructions on refunds shortly.
"We thank you for your cooperation."

Mark Chapman's joke about Gary Lineker, football team he supports, BBC Match of the Day pay

Mark Chapman will host the first Match of the Day show of the new Premier League season on Saturday as he, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates take over from departed stalwart Gary Lineker Mark Chapman will host the first Match of the Day show of the new Premier League season. The 51-year-old will share hosting duties with Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates this campaign after Gary Lineker's exit. ‌ The BBC flagship will have a new permanent host for the first time since 1999 this term after former England striker Lineker stepped down, ceasing all involvement with the organisation from the end of last season after sparking an antisemitism row with a social media post. ‌ Lineker's exit was announced in November last year, and it was confirmed in January that ex-MOTD 2 host Chapman, renowned presenter Logan and former Sky Sports star Cates would rotate to fill his shoes. Chapman will take the reins on Saturday, and Mirror Football takes a look at his life away from the screen, including where his footballing loyalties lie and how much he earns. ‌ Mark Chapman's Gary Lineker joke Although Saturday will be Chapman's first show as permanent host, as per PA, with colleague Logan taking on the Sunday rendition, he is no stranger to fronting MOTD. Chapman's role with MOTD 2 often saw him host the midweek editions of the show, and an appearance in January saw him crack a joke amid the announcement of Lineker's exit. The 51-year-old opened the broadcast alongside Micah Richards and Alan Shearer with a witty allusion to his upcoming role, declaring: "Evening, thought I'd get the practice in…" His co-stars couldn't help but chuckle at the admission, with Shearer exclaiming: "You haven't wasted any time, have you? Six months too early!" Chapman retorted: "It's going to be a long night, eh?" What football club does Mark Chapman support? Former host Lineker did not hide his love for boyhood side Leicester City, for whom he began his footballing career. He played over 200 times for the Foxes from 1978 until 1985. ‌ Chapman, who is not an ex-pro, having started life with the BBC in 1996 as a community announcer, also has an affinity for a top English side in Manchester United. Born in Rochdale, Chapman told the iPaper in 2018: "It's not my fault that I support a big team! I had to put up with a lot of poor, if at least entertaining, stuff in the 1980s. I am a genuine Manchester United fan." ‌ After the Red Devils endured a difficult 15th-placed Premier League finish last season, with some dismal results, Chapman explained on a 2025 appearance on the game show Catchphrase: "By the time we go on air, I've had enough time to stop being a sore loser. So by then I'm fairly impartial." How much does Mark Chapman earn? Lineker was renowned for being one of the BBC's highest-paid staff members during his time with the organisation. It was reported that he took home roughly £1.75million last year before stepping down. Colleague Shearer was also a top earner last year with a reported salary of £440,000, though Chapman earns considerably less than the two former England strikers. ‌ Over the course of the 2021/22 season, Chapman earned roughly £250k, and his salary was boosted the following term to around £325k. During the 2023/24 season, Chapman took home somewhere in the region of £260k for his coverage on Radio 5 Live, MOTD 2, the Challenge Cup, the Euros and Olympic Games.

There's nothing worse than male trouser trouble

First, there was the bizarre tale of the poor unfortunate man who, after dropping his trousers on the District line near Upton Park, was set upon by an outraged gang, beaten and then forcibly expelled from the Tube. And then, just a day or so before, the perpetually beleaguered Gregg Wallace caused a similar degree of opprobrium when he put out a video in which he addressed allegations of bad behaviour involving a lack of trousers. What on earth is going on? On Instagram, Wallace announced, with a touch of the Beowulf poet: 'Would you like the truth about the stories regarding me taking my trousers down, listen! There are no findings in the investigation that I took my trousers down in front of anybody.' He ended his video by repeating, sternly: 'Any claim that the report says differently is not true.' So there we have it. Gregg Wallace may be many things, but he is not a trouser-dropper – unlike the anonymous semi-flasher on the Underground, who definitely was, has now been detained for his own good under the Mental Health Act. A warning, perhaps, to those of us who, now that the weather is becoming disconcertingly warm once again, might fancy a little impromptu chino removal on public transport for our comfort. Yet in truth, the idea of taking down one's trousers is an innate source of English fascination that has been a staple of comedy since Chaucer and Shakespeare, and is likely to remain so until the day we are all wafting round in unisex kimonos. The reason why trousers – more than any other form of attire – are imbued with such comic potential is that the average English gentleman associates them with his dignity. Lose them, and his sang-froid tumbles to the floor along with the fabric. It was no wonder that the Aldwych farces and Carry On films all made considerable weather of their stiff, not-so-buttoned-up characters being compelled to cover their reduced dignity in increasingly absurd circumstances as their breeches sally off into the sunset. I would like to say that the loss of trousers is something that only occurs on stage and in film, but alas, I can testify that it is all too real. In my home city of Oxford, I have seen many cruelly abandoned pairs of formal trews in the street, presumably after a heavily misspent night involving fine wine. Nor is this limited to the young. A friend tells how, after a wild evening on Clapham Common with some newfound friends resulted in his being debagged, he cycled past the scene of the crime the next day to see his once-beloved slacks fluttering mournfully in the wind – the mute observer to whatever unspeakable things had happened in that particular spot. As for the shame's memorialisation in memoir, another friend – a leading light in the entertainment industry – has confessed that, should he ever put finger to keyboard and write his autobiography, it could only be called A Life Without Trousers, so torrid have his exploits in this field been. I would dearly love at this point to confess that I know nothing of such things, but unfortunately I recently had my own narrow brush with infamy. A few months ago, I was strolling along Hampstead Heath with my family when, to our horror, a tree fell just behind us, nearly causing grave hurt, or worse. We scrambled to safety just in time, with no worse injury than a few cuts and bruises – but as I realised that we were largely unharmed, I also realised that the sudden impact on the ground had sent my kecks cascading round my knees. To be found dead and trouserless on Hampstead Heath: now that, I fear, is the end that many of my enemies would wish on me. But I intend to give them the dissatisfaction of continuing to live – with the bottom of my trousers rolled – for many a well-furnished year to come, God willing.

Disney+ to stream live European football each weekend in major schedule shake-up

Top Spanish clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona are heading to Disney+ as the streamer lands a three year deal with La Liga. Disney+ has announced a major shake-up in its schedule, including the addition of live European football. From Saturday (August 16), the streamer will kick off its live weekend coverage of the Spanish La Liga. This means some of the biggest names in club football will be shown on the platform, including the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. The first game to air on Disney+ will see Valencia host Real Sociedad at the iconic Mestalla Stadium, with kick off set for 8:30pm UK time. La Liga games are available with a regular Disney+ subscription, which starts at £4.99 per month on a rolling monthly plan that can be cancelled at any time. Customers can also get the equivalent of two months free by paying for a year upfront on the Standard or Premium plan. Sky Sports' football plan is 66p a day ahead of Premier League and EFL season 'I tried Dr Hilary Jones-backed way of treating allergies and it worked' This plan offers higher video quality up to 4K UHD and HDR, and 12 months for the price of 10. Production and commentary during La Liga games will be provided by ESPN, with a line-up of familiar voices including Real Madrid and Liverpool legend Steve McManaman leading the team. He features alongside former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder Stewart Robson, while broadcasters Ian Darke and Rob Palmer will alternate play-by-play duties throughout the season. Disney's La Liga coverage is part of a new three-year deal and comes as the streamer also becomes the home of the UEFA Women's Champions League across Europe from October. However, football fans hoping to tune into the new Premier League season will need to secure a Sky Sports subscription, with the broadcaster increasing its coverage to 215 games from this season. According to Disney+, La Liga is the most-followed international football league in the UK. This is boosted by high-profile signings of English players, including Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who both play for Real Madrid, while Marcus Rashford kicks off his loan spell at Barcelona. Popular Spanish players also add to the league's allure, with homegrown talents including Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Nico Williams (Athletic Club) and Alex Baena (Atlético Madrid). However, fans should keep in mind that Disney+ will not broadcast every La Liga fixture, with only select Saturday night games selected for broadcast. Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA, said: 'At Disney, we celebrate storytelling that moves and excites. From the cinematic scale of FX's Alien: Earth to the sharp wit of Only Murders in the Building and the action-packed suspense of Lucasfilm's Andor, our customers know they're in for something special. Now, with LALIGA joining the line-up, they can experience that same excitement on the pitch with weekly matches featuring legendary clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona and stars like Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold as part of their Disney+ subscription.' Alongside La Liga, the Disney+ library spans everything from documentaries to critically acclaimed drama, comedy to classic animation. Also on the way are new sci-fi series Alien: Earth (August 13), the second instalment of National Geographic docuseries Limitless: Live Better Now with Chris Hemsworth (August 15) and season five of Only Murders in the Building (September 9).
