The Oodie Loungewear Review: Key to Keeping Warm this Winter
I am someone who is always cold – it's become my entire personality at this point. For years I've struggled with the first world problem of not wanting to leave my cosy warm bed or get out of my comfy chair without a blanket wrapped around me.
But in 2021, I was gifted the greatest gift a cold person could ever receive – an Oodie. For those living under a rock, an Oodie is an oversized wearable blanket in the shape of a hoodie with a soft fleece interior that feels like a warm hug.
I have become well acquainted with my two (yes two) Oodies over the years and as much as I love feeling so warm, they are not the most practical. I've had an incident or two with the massive sleeves dipping into what I've been eating or tripping on the long front when walking up the stairs.
If only the were an Oodie that combines all the toasty warmness I love with the practicality of being able to do chores, cook and get on with your everyday life.
Turns out The Oodie heard my cries for help and launched their new Loungewear range. With an all new Sherpa jumper and pants to try out, I simply couldn't resist.
What You Need To Know
As a fan of The Oodie I had very high expectations, and fortunately they were all met with flying colours.
Both the jumper and the pants have the classic Sherpa fleece lining Oodie lovers can't get enough of that is soft, comfortable and incredibly warm. The exterior is made with flannel fleece that is soft to the touch and looks like the warmest blanket you could snuggle up under. These two materials combined created so much warmth, there was no need to put the heater on or lay under a blanket.
I tried the S/M size and am traditionally a size 8 to 10, and it fit perfectly. It was never baggy or drooping down so I could move freely. In fact, wearing the jumper felt less restrictive than a regular jumper.
I was especially impressed by the pants. The regular Oodie can only keep your legs so warm, and a pair of tracksuit pants just misses the mark. These Oodie pants offer the best of both worlds. The cuffs were an added bonus and stopped any cold air making its way in.
While it is on the more expensive side, I can definitely see the value in paying an extra bit more, especially if you struggle to stay warm in winter.

DELIVERY
Unfortunately, you can't buy anything from The Oodie in-store, and everything is ordered online. But when spending over $50 on a single order, you'll get free shipping Australia wide.
Ordering and delivery was as simple as expected. I got plenty of email reminders of when it was being shipped and when it was expected to arrive at my doorstep.
Opening my Oodie Loungewear was like Christmas and my birthday all once, because it was like two presents. The jumper and the pants – while shipped together came in separate packages. Each were vacuumed sealed which was a plus knowing that they'll be clean and ready to wear from the get-go.
MATERIALS
Like the classic Oodie, the Loungewear range has a pill resistant ToastyTek flannel fleece exterior and Sherpa fleece inner lining the brand is known for.
As a huge fan of the original, I absolutely loved this. It felt the same as my regular Oodies, but completely covered my arms and legs. This might sound obviously enough, but I can't stress how much of a difference this makes in terms of adding more warmth and extra comfort.
FIT
The jumper comes in three sizes: Small to Medium, Large to Extra Large and 'Original Oodie Fit' – the latter designed to hang off you like the classic design.
I normally wear a size 8 to 10 shirt, so I opted for the Small to Medium. This size fit me perfectly. It was a fair bit larger than a regular jumper, but that was to be expected (and frankly, wanted).
I also tried the Small to Medium sized pants, and they fit like a treat as well. I appreciated the cuffed ankles as this prevented any cool air from making its way in. But be wary if you like wearing thick bed socks around the house – this could be a bit tricky to put on and wear.
Around the waist is an elastic band and drawcord so if it doesn't fit exactly the way you like, you can fix it. But the best part about the pants are the three pockets. While The Oodie Loungewear is unisex, many women will more than appreciate the two front pockets and the one at the back.
COMFORTABILITY
I love nothing more than feeling cosy and warm, and this loungewear ticked both of those boxes. It was amazingly soft against my skin when sitting, standing and walking. I even took a nap and rested my head on my arm – I might as well have been sleeping on a pillow.
What I enjoyed most was how much I could move around. When wearing my regular Oodie, I often found myself tripping on its long front, which isn't a problem wearing this loungewear. And while I am not the most flexible person in the world, I can freely spin, jump and kick (as tested while no one was watching!)
After a few days wear, I put them both in the wash and hang dry them. When they were ready to wear again, they still felt brand new.
My only real criticism is the weight. I love a weighted blanket, and am so used to sitting under one. But because it was so warm, I didn't need to. I definitely started to miss the weight and heaviness of my regular Oodie at that point, but I was quick to adjust.
WARMTH
Imagine wearing a onesie under a cosy blanket with a cuppa and hot water bottle. That's pretty much how warm I felt wearing them both the jumper and pants.
And as a critically cold person, I can't believe I'm saying this – it was almost too warm. When sipping on my evening hot chocolate, I felt like I was almost getting a sweat on. I also could not sit in a room with the heater on. But this just shows how effective they both really are.
DESIGNS AND COLOURS
The Oodie is known for offering plenty of colours, themes and designs, but unfortunately there were only a small handful to choose from in the Loungewear range. This was a bit of a let down, but they still had some of their classics available including Avocado and Blue Clouds.
The Verdict
Depending on your budget, $69 for a jumper can be pretty expensive. Throw is another $69 for the pants and that's another nasty blow to your credit card. And as a very frugal penny pincher, trust me when I say, it is worth it.
If you are perpetually cold, are needing something comfy to wear around the house or simply adore The Oodie brand, this Loungewear set is the ideal option.
Both the jumper and pants are incredibly warm, soft and comfortable, and they fit perfectly. You'll be able to move around without worrying about tripping and eat without accidentally dunking your sleeves in your meal – two dilemmas I overcame with this set.
And even though winter is on the horizon, I'll be packing away the blankets I sit under, my portable heater and my hot water bottle, because this is all I'll be needing.

$4.1m Ivanhoe East home boasts secret cabana
For years, the sellers of 303 The Boulevard, Ivanhoe East have enjoyed one of the suburb's most serene and sophisticated addresses, a tri-level masterpiece with panoramic parkland views, an alfresco cabana, and a sun-drenched conservatory living zone at its heart. Now listed with a $3.75m-$4.1m price guide, Barry Plant Ivanhoe director Theo Poltis said the striking residence offers buyers a chance to secure a fully renovated home with both family flexibility and entertainer's wow-factor, all in one of Melbourne's most tightly held pockets. 'It's perched right at the top of the hill with a stunning outlook and an incredible number of living zones, it's the full lifestyle package,' Mr Poltis said. Set on a 1000sq m block, the home's park-facing position is matched by a spacious interior that features two main suites, a gym, butler's pantry, cellar, and six bathrooms, with zoned energy-efficient living across three levels. Mr Poltis said the layout has been really well thought out 'The layout has been really well thought out,' Mr Politis said. 'You've got a main suite downstairs, two more bedrooms to the rear, and a second master upstairs, it suits a range of family setups, from young kids to teens or grandparents. 'Everyone can enjoy their own space.' With multiple living zones and a smartly designed open-plan kitchen and meals area, the home flows out to a stunning poolside entertaining zone and landscaped garden, complete with a sleek cabana and bathroom. The Barry Plant Ivanhoe director said the home was absolutely designed for entertaining. 'The kitchen opens straight onto the alfresco area and the garden wraps around you, it would be a dream setting to host in.' Other standout features include a climate-zoned interior, motorised blinds in the conservatory and solar panels, helping reduce energy costs while maintaining year-round comfort. 'The home is incredibly efficient, all the living zones can be zoned off, so you're never heating or cooling the whole space unnecessarily,' he said. Expanses of double glazing frame tranquil views of the Yarra parklands and city skyline, while the French travertine entry, glossy timber floors, and glass-panelled staircase elevate the home's luxury credentials. With land values in Ivanhoe East already pushing $2.5m to $3m for original homes, Mr Politis said the offering is well placed for prestige buyers looking to trade up without taking on a major build. 'There's nothing to do here — it's a finished product,' he said. 'Many people have been here 30, 40, even 50 years. 'When they do sell, they're often just trading within the area. That speaks volumes about how loved it is.' The property is expected to draw strong interest from local upgraders who already live in the suburb.

Hidden detail in model Gemma Ward's Instagram update
An Australian supermodel has revealed she has been quietly facing a brutal injury following an accident. Gemma Ward, 37, took to social media to share an update on what had been happening in her life — but fans were stunned to learn what had been happening behind the scenes. Since her last post in January, where she posted happy snaps from her holiday that she captioned 'paradise', she said 'a lot had happened'. 'I broke three vertebrae in my spine from a surfing accident,' she told her followers, alongside a photo of herself in her walk-in wardrobe. In the snap, she is wearing a neck brace. The carousel of images also included her three children — Naia, 13, Jet, 8, and Kirra, who was born in June 2020 — who she shares with partner David Letts playing at the beach, at the skate park and never being too far from the Perth woman's shadow. She didn't share any further detail as to when the injury happened or the extent of which it had impacted her life. The model just explained that she was working on maintaining her strength following the horror happening. Breaking a vertebrae in your back can lead to an intense amount of pain, nerve damage or even paralysis. 'I flew to Paris to shoot for Lancôme again which was a complete honour but in the wake of my accident I forgot to renew my passport so I had to get an emergency one and nearly missed the whole shoots,' she said. 'I ï¸finished a Faber novel writing course which was phenomenal, read some great books, reflected on my life and the current state of the world. 'Currently working on my strength and rehabilitation and my novel as well as the strange mess of life with three kids. Hope you are all doing well and getting some rest here and there.' Fellow model Nicole Trunfio was among those shocked at the news, as was Jessica Gomes. 'So many emotionsï¸. Get better soonï¸. Miss you and the babes and a NOVEL. I cannot (wait) to read! Xoxoxo,' Trunfio said. Meanwhile Gomes added: 'Always back in full form! You are the best! Love you big!!!' 'When it rains it pours,' Maya Stepper said. Other friends and fans of the model were also quick to share their shock at the revelation. 'I hope you heal up soonï¸. It's been wonderful to see your face around again,' one person said. Another added: 'Sending huge compassion Gemma — I know the mum juggles and recalibration of the cards life deals, thinking of you.' 'Oh my gosh, I hope you are feeling better soon,' one person said. Meanwhile, another said; 'Sending lots of positive vibes for your healing journey. You are doing an amazing job to keep showing up. It's (nice) to see you navigating all the roles in life with grace and dedication.' Ward has been in the modelling industry for more than two decades, in 2024 alone she was part of campaigns for Tasaki, Lancome and H&M. She also appeared on the covers of Elle Australia and Vogue Polska, as well as editorials for MARFA and Russh.
