Oodie slashes 73% off 'unbelievably soft' outdoor jackets
'Sometimes, all you need for a quick walk is comfort, and this outdoor Oodie offered just that, whilst keeping me dry in the process' While the warmer weather has finally arrived, British summers and bank holidays are famously unpredictable. It's the perfect reminder that while the season calls for picnics in the park, it's also a smart time to stock up on cosy essentials for those inevitable chilly spells. There's not far to look, because The Oodie's latest sale is making that simple. The popular loungewear brand has just launched a huge clearance event, cutting the price of its outdoor jackets by 73%. Previously priced at £109, these ultra-comfy jackets are now £29 each, a saving of £80. The offer is available from now until 2am on May 27/ For those yet to discover it, the outdoor Oodie takes the brand's viral oversized fleece hoodie and transforms it into a practical, all-weather jacket. It features the same snuggly fleece lining on the inside that has become iconic for instant warmth. Alternatively, check out this Green Label Women's Appin Gilet from Hunter for £85. The insulated gilet features a quilted design and practical pockets to keep you warm on chillier days. Frasers is also having a huge sale and there's half price off this Barbour Zola Quilted Jacket, now £85 down from £169. Available in a selection of colours and styles while stocks last, it's an ideal layering piece for any wardrobe. Plus, it also boasts a water-repellent nylon outer layer to fend off sudden showers, ideal with another bank holiday downpour expected. The outdoor Oodie's have become a go-to favourite for anyone who loves the outdoors or staying snug in unpredictable weather. Fans have praised the jacket for keeping them 'completely dry', even when caught out in unexpected rain, making it a reliable option for everything from the morning dog walks, school runs and evening strolls. Alongside its cosy feel and waterproof finish, each outdoor jacket generously sized hood, ribbed cuffs and roomy side pockets for storing essentials. In reviews for the Camel/Black Zip Through Outdoor Jacket shoppers praised the comfort and stylish finish of the jacket. Our colleague at Liverpool Echo tried the Outdoor Oodie out for herself, and has written all about exactly why she has fallen in love with the product. She said: "I slipped into this Oodie, I couldn't believe how unbelievably soft it was inside. It was warm, but not absolutely boiling, and basically felt like I was wearing a giant duvet. "Sometimes, all you need for a quick walk is comfort, and this outdoor Oodie offered just that, whilst keeping me dry in the process. I was a little unsure that the Oodie might look a bit ridiculous in public, but despite it being big, it just looked like an oversized coat. "If you want to be really outlandish, you could wear the coat with the fleece side on show, but I didn't feel quite confident to wear the greyhound zip through print in public just yet! The hood was really roomy, and the pockets were ideal for snacks and all my belongings. "I'd definitely recommend checking out the outdoor Oodie if you're a dog walker like me. It was so soft and comfortable, and great to just throw on." It is worth noting, some customers found the jackets had creases that made them less easy to wear. One comment said: "The creases make it unwearable; it needs a steam iron." But another happier shopper said: "I got this coat on a whim, and honestly, best decision ever! It's so warm, and because I got the oodie size, I don't feel tight or restricted. It's so warm, I feel so comfortable in it, and its quality is amazing!"

12 Best Kids Winter Pyjamas for a Cosy Sleep
We've found the cosiest kids winter pyjamas including the 'must have' Oodie item that one child 'wanted to wear to school'. These products are hand-picked by our team to help make shopping easier. We may receive payments from third parties for sharing this content and when you purchase through links in this article. Product prices and offer details are not assured, and should be confirmed independently with the retailer. Learn more Winter pyjamas are so popular at our house that some days they never come off (hello, pyjama day!) and I'm not just talking about the kids. The trouble is when you grab last year's pjs from the back of the cupboard, you might find, as I have, that your kids have had a growth spurt, and nothing fits. The pj bottoms finish half way up their legs and tops barely cover their stomach. Plus a year on, their tastes have changed, so while last winter was all about unicorns and dinosaurs, this year might be mermaids and superheroes. And who doesn't like a fresh new look? To make your (winter) life easier, we've rounded up a few of our favourite pjs, in a range of fun colours, bold prints and cute styles that you can grab online and make your little ones eager for bedtime, night after night. They may not want to go to sleep, but getting the pjs on is definitely a step in the right direction. WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN BUYING KIDS PYJAMAS We took the following factors into consideration when choosing the pyjamas on this list: Fit: It's always best to buy the right size for your kid and not be tempted to size up to get more wear out of your purchase. Chances are they will want a different style or pattern by the following year, so buy for comfort instead. Feel: Kids are particular about the feel of their clothing particularly pjs, so make sure it's soft and comfy, rather than scratchy, itchy or any other word they come up with. Fabric: Look for the right fabric to suit your climate. Soft breathable materials are always comfortable for nightwear, especially if you have a hot sleeper. Cost: There's a huge variety in price points and you can choose between cheap and cheerful basics to something a little more luxe that might last longer. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT FABRIC IS BEST FOR KIDS' PYJAMAS During winter, the best pyjama fabrics to opt for are flannel, fleece, cotton jersey and knit. Fleece and flannel are probably the warmest options if you live somewhere that gets super cold, whereas cotton jersey and knit are cosy while still being breathable and stretchy for comfort. HOW MUCH SLEEP DO KIDS NEED? The exact amount of sleep a child needs depends on their age, but for school age children, a total of nine to 11 hours of shut-eye is recommended per night. WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING WINTER SOCKS We took the following elements into consideration when choosing the winter socks for this list. Material There are varying materials to choose from but ideally you want a wool blend that offers excellent warmth combined with polyester fibres to add comfort, stretch and moisture wicking abilities. Thickness Thick socks in winter are not necessarily the warmest or most comfortable as they might rub or dig into your skin. Naturally a thick knitted sock with sherpa lining is ideal for wearing at home, but you might prefer a thin style wool blend sock to wear with boots or shoes that offers cosy warmth with less bulk. Activity What socks you choose will come down to what you want to do while wearing them. If you want to wear them around the house, there are plenty of slipper style socks to choose from that offer warmth and a sole grip. Other options offer warmth and wicking qualities to look after your feet while you're out and about. Care Are the socks easy to clean and maintain? Can you just throw them in the washing machine? Most socks are machine washable, but not all – so always check the instructions before purchasing. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS IS COTTON BEST FOR WINTER SOCKS? Cotton is natural, comfy and breathable but not always the best choice for winter socks as it holds onto moisture, leaving your feet feeling wet. Wool on the other hand does a better job of keeping feet warm and dry especially when blended with polyester or nylon which are more absorbent and fast drying. ARE THICK SOCKS BETTER THAN THIN SOCKS IN WINTER? No, not always. Thick socks definitely conserve body heat but if they're not the right fit, they cause blisters or hinder circulation. The right thickness also depends on the shoes you want to wear. Thick socks may not fit with your boots or trainers so you might be better opting for a thin wool blend sock instead. The Oodie Loungewear Review: Key to Keeping Warm this Winter
I am someone who is always cold – it's become my entire personality at this point. For years I've struggled with the first world problem of not wanting to leave my cosy warm bed or get out of my comfy chair without a blanket wrapped around me. But in 2021, I was gifted the greatest gift a cold person could ever receive – an Oodie. For those living under a rock, an Oodie is an oversized wearable blanket in the shape of a hoodie with a soft fleece interior that feels like a warm hug. I have become well acquainted with my two (yes two) Oodies over the years and as much as I love feeling so warm, they are not the most practical. I've had an incident or two with the massive sleeves dipping into what I've been eating or tripping on the long front when walking up the stairs. If only the were an Oodie that combines all the toasty warmness I love with the practicality of being able to do chores, cook and get on with your everyday life. Turns out The Oodie heard my cries for help and launched their new Loungewear range. With an all new Sherpa jumper and pants to try out, I simply couldn't resist. What You Need To Know As a fan of The Oodie I had very high expectations, and fortunately they were all met with flying colours. Both the jumper and the pants have the classic Sherpa fleece lining Oodie lovers can't get enough of that is soft, comfortable and incredibly warm. The exterior is made with flannel fleece that is soft to the touch and looks like the warmest blanket you could snuggle up under. These two materials combined created so much warmth, there was no need to put the heater on or lay under a blanket. I tried the S/M size and am traditionally a size 8 to 10, and it fit perfectly. It was never baggy or drooping down so I could move freely. In fact, wearing the jumper felt less restrictive than a regular jumper. I was especially impressed by the pants. The regular Oodie can only keep your legs so warm, and a pair of tracksuit pants just misses the mark. These Oodie pants offer the best of both worlds. The cuffs were an added bonus and stopped any cold air making its way in. While it is on the more expensive side, I can definitely see the value in paying an extra bit more, especially if you struggle to stay warm in winter. Full review of The Oodie Loungewear DELIVERY Unfortunately, you can't buy anything from The Oodie in-store, and everything is ordered online. But when spending over $50 on a single order, you'll get free shipping Australia wide. Ordering and delivery was as simple as expected. I got plenty of email reminders of when it was being shipped and when it was expected to arrive at my doorstep. Opening my Oodie Loungewear was like Christmas and my birthday all once, because it was like two presents. The jumper and the pants – while shipped together came in separate packages. Each were vacuumed sealed which was a plus knowing that they'll be clean and ready to wear from the get-go. MATERIALS Like the classic Oodie, the Loungewear range has a pill resistant ToastyTek flannel fleece exterior and Sherpa fleece inner lining the brand is known for. As a huge fan of the original, I absolutely loved this. It felt the same as my regular Oodies, but completely covered my arms and legs. This might sound obviously enough, but I can't stress how much of a difference this makes in terms of adding more warmth and extra comfort. FIT The jumper comes in three sizes: Small to Medium, Large to Extra Large and 'Original Oodie Fit' – the latter designed to hang off you like the classic design. I normally wear a size 8 to 10 shirt, so I opted for the Small to Medium. This size fit me perfectly. It was a fair bit larger than a regular jumper, but that was to be expected (and frankly, wanted). I also tried the Small to Medium sized pants, and they fit like a treat as well. I appreciated the cuffed ankles as this prevented any cool air from making its way in. But be wary if you like wearing thick bed socks around the house – this could be a bit tricky to put on and wear. Around the waist is an elastic band and drawcord so if it doesn't fit exactly the way you like, you can fix it. But the best part about the pants are the three pockets. While The Oodie Loungewear is unisex, many women will more than appreciate the two front pockets and the one at the back. COMFORTABILITY I love nothing more than feeling cosy and warm, and this loungewear ticked both of those boxes. It was amazingly soft against my skin when sitting, standing and walking. I even took a nap and rested my head on my arm – I might as well have been sleeping on a pillow. What I enjoyed most was how much I could move around. When wearing my regular Oodie, I often found myself tripping on its long front, which isn't a problem wearing this loungewear. And while I am not the most flexible person in the world, I can freely spin, jump and kick (as tested while no one was watching!) After a few days wear, I put them both in the wash and hang dry them. When they were ready to wear again, they still felt brand new. My only real criticism is the weight. I love a weighted blanket, and am so used to sitting under one. But because it was so warm, I didn't need to. I definitely started to miss the weight and heaviness of my regular Oodie at that point, but I was quick to adjust. WARMTH Imagine wearing a onesie under a cosy blanket with a cuppa and hot water bottle. That's pretty much how warm I felt wearing them both the jumper and pants. And as a critically cold person, I can't believe I'm saying this – it was almost too warm. When sipping on my evening hot chocolate, I felt like I was almost getting a sweat on. I also could not sit in a room with the heater on. But this just shows how effective they both really are. DESIGNS AND COLOURS The Oodie is known for offering plenty of colours, themes and designs, but unfortunately there were only a small handful to choose from in the Loungewear range. This was a bit of a let down, but they still had some of their classics available including Avocado and Blue Clouds. The Verdict Depending on your budget, $69 for a jumper can be pretty expensive. Throw is another $69 for the pants and that's another nasty blow to your credit card. And as a very frugal penny pincher, trust me when I say, it is worth it. If you are perpetually cold, are needing something comfy to wear around the house or simply adore The Oodie brand, this Loungewear set is the ideal option. Both the jumper and pants are incredibly warm, soft and comfortable, and they fit perfectly. You'll be able to move around without worrying about tripping and eat without accidentally dunking your sleeves in your meal – two dilemmas I overcame with this set. And even though winter is on the horizon, I'll be packing away the blankets I sit under, my portable heater and my hot water bottle, because this is all I'll be needing. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT IS AN OODIE? ' Oodie ' stands for 'Oversized Hoodie'. The original design of this wearable blanket came from Davie Fogarty who began the brand in 2018 after launching the original Oodie. Along with being remarkably comfortable, soft and warm, they quickly went viral thanks to their wide selection of designs, themes and colours. Some of their most popular include the Avocado, Houseplant, Tie-Dye, Clouds, Love Heart Candies and Mushrooms. WHAT ELSE DOES THE OODIE MAKE? Aside from the classic Oodie and their newest loungewear, the brand has also branched out into a huge range of categories. When it's time for bed, you can try their sleep tees, dressing gowns, onesies, and thermal regulating pyjamas. They also make bright and bold patterned blankets, including cooling and weighted blankets. If you need to keep your feet warm, so they've made a range of Sherpa lined socks. Oodie's aren't just for wearing indoors. They also make bright rompers and outdoor jackets. They've even got footwear, with platforms, slip ons and boots on offer. The kids and pets are covered too, with kids Oodies and dog jackets available. ARE OODIES AUSTRALIAN MADE? The Oodie is an Australian brand with their headquarters based in South Australia. The company ships their products both nationally and internationally. Shoppers will need to pay for shipping for orders under $50. However, shipping is free for all Australian orders of $50 or over.
