NBC News3 days ago
Two men were arrested in connection to a series of high-end burglaries at the homes of affluent Southern Californians, including the ransacking of superstar Brad Pitt's house, law enforcement sources said on Monday.
Jaquory Arman Watson and Damari Zair Charles are each 18 and both are being held at the Theo Lacy Facility in nearby Orange County, jail records showed on Tuesday.
In connection to another heist not involving Pitt, they've been charged with alleged first-degree burglary with a possible sentencing enhancement for committing the crime in concert with another person.
Charges connected to the Pitt break-in are expected to be announced this week, law enforcement sources said.
It wasn't immediately clear on Tuesday if two men had hired or been assigned attorneys to speak in their behalf.
Pitt's home in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz was broken into on June 26 while the actor was on a promotional tour for his latest movie, "F1.'
The burglars climbed over a front fence before breaking a window and ransacking the home. Burglars left with property, but police have not publicly stated what was taken.
Video from Pitt's surveillance cameras played a key role in identifying the suspects, law enforcement sources said.
A series of burglaries involving celebrities and athletes have plagued Southern California in the past two years.
The homes of actor Nicole Kidman and musician Keith Urban, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto, his teammates Max Muncy and Freddie Freeman and LAFC striker Olivier Giroud have been all been hit, police said.

Angels-Dodgers fans get into ugly brawl that leads to two arrests

Things got ugly quickly in the outfield stands at Angel Stadium. During Wednesday's game between the Angels and the Dodgers, a violent brawl broke out, with punches and kicks being thrown throughout. The incident, which was caught on camera and went viral on social media, included a fan wearing a Mike Trout Angels jersey getting punched by a man in a black shirt. After the Angels fan fell back into his seat, a Dodgers supporter ran behind and kicked him directly in the head. The altercation led to two arrests, according to TMZ Sports. A spokesperson for the Anaheim Police Department said the fight 'appears to have started over the stealing of a hat,' per TMZ Sports. However, the police did not say exactly who took the cap. The Dodgers fan kicked the Angels fan directly in the head. @Actually_Borgen/X The APD said two people in their mid-20s were arrested for the fight, with one being charged with a misdemeanor assault and the other — who the cops deemed the primary attacker — is facing a felony assault charge. The identities of the two individuals have not been released. At the time of the brawl, the victim did not accept transportation to the hospital for his injuries, and it remains unclear if they went to seek medical attention following the game. Two people were arrested for the fight. @Actually_Borgen/X As for the game, the Angels ended up sweeping their rival with a 6-5 comeback win, only furthering the Dodgers' skid to start the second half of the season. Following the loss, Shohei Ohtani said that the Dodgers are doing everything possible to try and end their cold streak. 'Obviously, it doesn't feel good to fall into second place and to lose a lot of these games,' Ohtani told reporters. 'We're doing everything in our power, having close meetings, doing everything that we can to try to right the ship. We just have to do a better job.' With the Dodgers holding a 10-13 record since the All-Star break, the Padres have risen to first place in the NL West, holding a one-game lead over Los Angeles.
