CBS drew 3.063 million viewers for Sunday's final round, marking a 7% jump from last year's 2.855 million. That viewership surge is even more impressive compared to 2022's 2.319 million for Billy Horschel's win.
Scheffler's final-round performance nearly matched the 2023 spike (3.115M) when Viktor Hovland pulled off a playoff victory. Weekend viewership averaged 2.782 million on CBS, a 14% year-over-year rise, with Saturday's third round pulling in 2.04 million viewers up 15% from 2023.

With wins at The CJ CUP Byron Nelson, the PGA Championship, and now the Memorial, May turned out to be quite the month for Scheffler. According to the Daily Mail, he raked in an incredible $9.63 million in that span. And he wasn't the only one cashing in his caddie Ted Scott reportedly earned $963,000, more than many players on the PGA Tour's top 10 money list.
Scottie's red-hot streak has not only boosted his bank account but also fueled fan interest in golf. 'Scheffler moves the needle,' one fan said online. With the RBC Canadian Open around the corner, fans are eager to see if the World No. 1 keeps up his momentum. One thing's clear when Scheffler plays, people tune in.

Bears Safety Jaquan Brisker Returns After Missing Most of 2024 Season

Bears Safety Jaquan Brisker Returns After Missing Most of 2024 Season originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The second day of Chicago Bears minicamp is officially in the books, and the action is heating up. With new head coach Ben Johnson continuing to shape the team's identity, both the offense and defense turned in strong moments. But while the competition remains fierce on the field, it was the return of a familiar presence that may end up being the highlight of the week. Advertisement Jaquan Brisker, 26, made his long-awaited return to the practice field. Now entering his third season with the Bears, the hard-hitting safety missed 11 games last year due to a concussion sustained in Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers. Bears OTAGetty Images His return was documented in clips from Bears on CHSN, with the full interview available at Brisker spoke at length during media availability, reflecting on the mental and physical toll of being sidelined. 'It was hard being away from football, especially week to week,' he said. 'It was kind of sad, depressing, things like that. But I got over it. It's time to move on, and I'm back now.' Brisker emphasized that he doesn't plan to change his aggressive play style. 'I'm going to continue to play the same way,' he said. 'That was my first time really having a contact injury. He hit his head on my neck… really just moving on from that.' He explained that the injury was a vestibular concussion and offered insight into his recovery process: 'Just really working side to side, catching tennis balls, just doing different things to get my nervous system back right. That's really what it was about.' Advertisement This marks Brisker's third concussion in as many seasons, but before the setback, he was trending upward. In 2023, he posted 105 total tackles, 9 passes defended, and two forced fumbles—earning recognition as one of the Bears' most promising defenders. Jaquan BriskerGetty Images Despite his concussion history, Brisker made it clear that retirement was never an option. His return now is more than symbolic; it's strategic. As the Bears continue to build momentum this offseason, having Brisker healthy and back in the mix could help stabilize a defense in need of leadership. Time will tell if he can stay on the field—but for now, his presence is a welcome sight. Is this Phil Mickelson's last U.S. Open? Here's what he said ahead of LIV Golf event

Is this Phil Mickelson's last U.S. Open? Here's what he said ahead of LIV Golf event For the third straight major, there's a chance for a player to complete the career Grand Slam. Rory McIlroy became the sixth member of the exclusive club with his victory at the Masters in April, while Jordan Spieth missed the cut in his ninth attempt to win the final leg he needs at the PGA Championship in May. Now, it's Phil Mickelson's turn to try again to win the elusive U.S. Open at Oakmont next week. The six-time major winner has six runner-up finishes at his country's national championship but has never lifted the hardware. Could this be his final shot at glory? Mickelson is in the final year of his five-year exemption for winning the PGA Championship at Kiawah in 2021. Asked during his pre-tournament press conference on Wednesday ahead of this week's LIV Virginia event at the Robert Trent Jones Club in Manassas, Virginia, Mickelson addressed the possibility that this could be his final U.S. Open. 'There's a high likelihood that it will be, but I haven't really thought about it too much,' he said. Mickelson has struggled since winning PGA Championship Mickelson is trying to regain the mojo of his thrilling PGA Championship win at Kiawah, when he became the oldest major winner. But since jumping to LIV, his game has abandoned him with the exception of a back-door runner-up finish at the 2023 Masters. Mickelson finished 39th in the individual points race in 2022, improving slightly to 33rd in '23 and dropping to 50th a year ago. It's also been dragging down his team's performance. 'I want to be realistic,' said the HyFlyers captain. 'I want this team to succeed. I don't want to hold it back. If I'm not an asset, if I'm not helping, if I'm holding it back, then it's time for me to move on and get somebody else in here who is going to really help the team win and succeed.' But Mickelson, who finished third at LIV Mexico before missing the cut at the Masters and PGA Championship, is the eternal optimist and is using this week to get ready for his 34th start at the U.S. Open. 'What I have thought about is how similar this week's course is set up to what we'll see next week. We have greens that are rolling 14 to 15 on the Stimpmeter, just like we will next week. We have contours, undulations, just like we will next week. I think it's a great way to prepare for next week without minimizing the effects of this week because this is the first tournaments of our second half of LIV, and we all need and want and are working hard to getting off to a good start and making the second half of LIV great," he said. 'Short game, touch, chipping around the greens, rough, speed, lag drills and speed and touch on the greens, all of that's critical here same thing as next week. It couldn't be a better spot to get ready.' What are Phil Mickelson's upcoming options? Mickelson has missed the cut at the U.S. Open in his last three attempts to complete the career Grand Slam. While his exempt status into the U.S. Open ends with this year's edition, it's possible the USGA could offer him a special exemption in 2026. Before winning the 2021 PGA, Mickelson had been granted a special exemption, but then didn't need it after his win. He could also participate in 36-hole Final Qualifying. Asked if he would consider attempting to qualify, Mickelson said, 'I don't know. I don't know. I haven't thought that far.'

Leah Remini addresses rumored feud with JLo: 'Friendships ebb and flow'

Leah Remini addresses rumored feud with JLo: 'Friendships ebb and flow' Show Caption Hide Caption Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck separated in April: Reports Jennifer Lopez filed to divorce Ben Affleck on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding ceremony. Their romance dates back to 2002. Leah Remini is addressing feud rumors with Jennifer Lopez. In an Us Weekly cover story this week, the "King of Queens" alum suggested that there are highs and lows with JLo, her once-best friend. "Sometimes you don't talk to people every day like you used to, but that doesn't mean the love is lost," Remini added. "Friendships ebb and flow. That doesn't mean we're at odds." But Remini said that "right after the divorce, we'd text each other loving messages of support" in reference to her friend's divorce from actor Ben Affleck and her own split from Angelo Pagán last year. Tabloid feud rumors surfaced after Remini was absent from Bennifer's 2022 wedding in Georgia. The pair have been friends for over two decades. Leah Remini announces split from husband Angelo Pagán after 21 years "I cherish my friendships and not everybody is meant to be in your life in the way that they were. When you grow out of that person that you were, that doesn't mean that you are at odds with them," Remini said. "I have many friends that I don't talk to every day. That doesn't mean we're at odds – it's just that I'm at a different place and so are they." She also discussed her friendships with her former "The Talk" co-hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Julie Chen Moonves, the "Big Brother" host's husband and embattled former CBS executive Les Moonves, "RuPaul's Drag Race" judge Michelle Visage, comedian Chelsea Handler and actress Tisha Campbell. Remini noted, too, that she has friendships with people "that are not in the business that are also meaningful." The actress famously disavowed Scientology 12 years ago and told the entertainment outlet that she is in a "in a different place" since leaving the controversial belief system. "I really retreated (after leaving Scientology)," Remini told Us. "But also not really wanting to leave the house that much. I started to come out a bit but was still careful and cautious." The "Dancing with the Stars" alum may throw caution to the wind in one place: the ballroom. She detailed her ballroom dancing hobby, shouting out her former pro, Tony Dovolani, from the dancing competition show. "Tony Dovolani made me a fan," she said of her "DWTS" partner. "I kept it going. And then my dance teacher became part of the family. He came over yesterday, brought my mom flowers. This, to me, means something. It's a meaningful relationship."
