The Texas Longhorns will enter the 2025 college football season with one of the most talented rosters in the country.

Led by quarterback phenom Arch Manning, Texas will look to reach its third consecutive College Football Playoff. While the Longhorns lost several key starters to the NFL from a season ago, Texas still returns a plethora of playmakers such as Anthony Hill, Colin Simmons, Michael Taaffe and Cedric Baxter.
According to ESPN's FPI (Football Power Index), Texas has the best odds of reaching the College Football Playoff this season with a 83.9% chance. Georgia (78.6%) and Alabama (66.2%) are close behind.
Seven SEC teams are included in the top-13 spots of ESPN's ranking: Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and LSU.
Outside of the SEC, teams like Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Clemson, Miami and Notre Dame have realistic chances of reaching the playoff.

Texas has reached the College Football Playoff semifinals the last two seasons but have failed to close out the game in the final minutes. In 2023, Steve Sarkisian's squad narrowly lost to the Washington Huskies. Last year, the Longhorns were defeated by Ohio State in the final minutes.
All eyes will be on Texas this season as they strive to live up to the high expectations.

In a recent article by Nick Shook, he picks some players who he believes are entering "make-or-break" seasons, and one of the players he lists is the Commanders veteran. "This is about earning the final year of his contract," Shook wrote. "Lattimore moved to Washington as a coveted trade acquisition but struggled to find the same form with the Commanders, posting some truly dreadful Pro Football Focus grades in the postseason. There's reason to believe a full year with Dan Quinn will fix things, and Lattimore is under pressure to do so this fall because the Commanders can cut ties with zero financial penalty in 2026." Lattimore will be a free agent after the 2026 season, so if he plays well in 2025, then he could lined up for quite the pay day when the time comes. The Grammy winning rapper dropped his much-anticipated newest album Friday. It's the sixth installment of his "Tha Carter" album series that's won over his fans over the years. Now he's grabbed the attention of the Los Angeles Rams. Wayne references the Super Bowl winning head coach on the track "Welcome to Tha Carter," which is the second track off the 19-song album. The song starts with a church choir theme intro, but then blends in drums and Wayne's signature rapping voice. It goes from Gospel theme to one filled with sports references -- including this lyric that brings up McVay: "Smokin that bomb LA like I'm McVay/Bombs away, I'm just tryna concentrate," Wayne raps. Well, turns out the Rams heard that bar loud and clear. They posted this clever reaction featuring their beloved head coach. The Super Bowl LVI winner isn't the only L.A. reference on the track. Former Los Angeles Lakers champion and NBA All-Star Metta World Peace is mentioned by Wayne on the song too. McVay himself hasn't personally reacted to the song. But it's not the first time the Rams have reacted to any major Hip-Hop news.
