Dubai Autism Centre Launches Autism-Friendly Kits for Ramadan & Eid
The initiative will provide autism-friendly kits to help children navigate social settings and public events.
Mar 17, 2025
Families of children with autism in Dubai will soon have access to a new tool designed to help manage sensory challenges in public spaces. The Dubai Autism Centre (DAC) has launched an initiative aimed at supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by providing them with autism-friendly kits, enabling greater participation in social and public events.
In line with the 'Year of the Community' and the #RamadanInDubai campaign, the initiative seeks to enhance the inclusion and empowerment of individuals with autism, particularly during significant occasions such as Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr. It also aligns with the National Policy for Empowering People of Determination and the 'My Community … A City for Everyone' initiative, which aims to make Dubai more accessible and disability-friendly.
Parents interested in obtaining the autism-friendly kits can apply through the Dubai Autism Centre's official communication channels.
Since its establishment in 2001, the Dubai Autism Centre has been a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to providing specialised educational, psychological, and rehabilitative support for children with autism and their families. In September 2022, the centre introduced the Autism-Friendly Certification Programme (AFCP), the first of its kind in the region, designed to recognise organisations that implement higher accessibility standards for individuals with autism.

Tips for Reorganizing Sleep Patterns Post-Ramadan
Pasant Elzaitony During the holy month of Ramadan, it's common to stay up late for Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers, with the habit often extending into the Eid holidays. This can disrupt regular sleep patterns and lead to lethargy. Here are some optimal strategies to regularize sleep and adapt to everyday life routines, whether for work or school: - Wake Up Early: It's crucial to get up early even if you haven't had enough sleep. This helps your body adjust to your normal schedule. - Eat Early: Have your meals at earlier times and avoid heavy meals late at night to prevent sleep disturbances. - Limit Sugars and Stimulants: Reduce your intake of sweets and caffeine, especially in the afternoon, to ensure it doesn't interfere with your night's rest. - Avoid Naps: Skipping naps during the day can help you better regulate your sleep at night. - Sun Exposure: Make sure to get some sunlight during the day. It helps energize your body and provides essential Vitamin D. - Morning Exercise: Engage in light exercises like walking or jogging in the morning. In the evening, consider meditation or prayer to wind down. - Evening Relaxation: A warm shower in the evening can aid relaxation and promote better sleep. - Avoid Dramatic Evenings: Steer clear of dramatic shows or movies in the evening as they can stimulate your mind and disrupt sleep. - Limit Evening Calls: Avoid lengthy phone conversations in the evening to keep your mind from being overactive before bed. - Be Patient: Understand that the first day might be challenging, but your mood and sleep patterns will improve over the following days as you settle into a new routine. - Adjusting back to a regular sleep schedule post-Ramadan requires patience and some adjustments, but with these steps, it can be achieved effectively. read more 15 Ludicrous Cosplay Costumes That Will Blow You Away Watch... 477,000 Citizens Get Check-Ups With Nationwide Ramadan Health Campaign
The Egyptian Healthcare Authority's 'Ramadan Be Seha Le Kol Eila' campaign exceeded its target by 108% and delivered care to remote areas, the elderly, and people with chronic conditions. Mar 30, 2025 The Egyptian Healthcare Authority (EHA) has announced that its national health initiative, 'Ramadan Be Seha Le Kol Eila' ('Ramadan With Health for Every Family'), surpassed expectations by reaching over 477,000 citizens since its launch in early March 2025. The campaign exceeded its original target by 108%, offering medical assessments and follow-up care across the country. The initiative focused on screening and treating individuals with chronic conditions, particularly diabetes and hypertension, while prioritising the elderly, persons with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged families. According to the EHA, more than 234,000 initial medical examinations were conducted as part of the campaign, alongside 14,000 home visits by 570 medical teams. Mobile medical units were dispatched to reach patients in remote and underserved areas, and free medications were delivered directly to the homes of those unable to visit medical centres. In addition to physical care, the campaign included educational outreach: patients' families were trained on how to respond to medical emergencies, particularly related to blood sugar and blood pressure fluctuations. Informational booklets were also distributed to help households better manage chronic conditions and avoid complications. This Ramadan campaign forms part of the EHA's broader strategy to expand equitable healthcare access across Egypt, with a special focus on preventive care and chronic disease management.
