Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par Trailer Shines Bright With 5 Inspiring Life Lessons
New Delhi: The much-anticipated trailer of Sitaare Zameen Par, the spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan's 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, has finally been unveiled — and it's already tugging at heartstrings while sparking important conversations. Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film promises not only entertainment but also a powerful dose of life lessons through its heartfelt narrative.
This time, Khan dons the role of a basketball coach mentoring a team of specially-abled children — the 'Sitaares.' These ten young stars light up the screen with their charm, resilience, and unyielding spirit. The trailer offers glimpses of their journey filled with laughter, challenges, and victories, all woven with lessons that speak volumes.
Here are five life lessons that Sitaare Zameen Par is poised to teach its viewers:
1. Finding Light in the Toughest Moments
A humorous moment in the trailer shows a player accidentally breaking a tube light with a basketball. Instead of escalating, the tension dissolves when the player shouts 'sixer!' The scene highlights how laughter and light-heartedness can defuse difficult situations and bring people closer.
2. Standing Up for What's Right
In a bold and empowering scene, a female character faces off with a harasser on a bus, fearlessly standing her ground. It's a stirring reminder that everyone, regardless of circumstances, has the strength to defend their dignity and speak up.
3. Redefining Normal with Empathy
When the coach initially misjudges his team based on societal norms, he is gently corrected with the line: 'Everyone has their own normal—you have yours, and the students have theirs.' This simple yet profound statement urges viewers to embrace diversity and lead with compassion.
4. Winning with Integrity
When the coach encourages an aggressive approach, a female player responds with dignity: 'Nahi. Hum jeetne ke liye aaye hain, beizzati karne ke liye nahi.' Her words reflect the soul of true sportsmanship — striving for victory with respect, not hostility.
5. The Power of Unity
Despite initial doubts and challenges, the coach and his team come together in a story of perseverance, belief, and mutual respect. Their journey proves that with teamwork and heart, even the most distant dreams are within reach.
Backed by Aamir Khan Productions, the film stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, alongside a cast of 10 talented young actors. With lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by the renowned trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Sitaare Zameen Par also features a screenplay by Divy Nidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with Ravi Bhagchandka also serving as producer.
Sitaare Zameen Par is set to release exclusively in theatres on June 20, 2025 .

Aamir Khan addresses age gap with Genelia D'Souza in Sitaare Zameen Par: ‘Age is no longer a barrier for actors'
Aamir Khan is set to play Genelia D'Souza's husband in the upcoming emotional drama Sitaare Zameen Par. The pairing comes as a surprise to many, especially since it was Aamir who introduced Genelia to Hindi cinema back in 2008, casting her opposite his nephew Imran Khan in the hit rom-com Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. More than 15 years later, the duo are now cast as a married couple. Reacting to the unexpected pairing in a recent interview with Indian Express, Aamir acknowledged the irony with a laugh: 'Ya, I know. That thought did come to me. But that was a long time ago. And ab Imran bhi kaafi meri age ka ho gaya hai (laughs).' Addressing the age-gap and the magic of VFX In Sitaare Zameen Par, a Hindi remake of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones, both Aamir and Genelia play characters in their early 40s. While Aamir is now 60, he brushed off concerns about the age difference and credited technology and changing audience perceptions for helping bridge the gap. 'We have the advantage of VFX now,' he said. 'Earlier, if I had to play an 18-year-old, I had to rely on prosthetics — like Anil Kapoor did in Eeshwar (1989), when he played an 80-year-old. Today, you can look 80 or 40 or 20 on screen with seamless visual effects. So age is no longer a barrier for actors.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pinga-Pinga e HBP? Made for Rs 2.5 crore, this film of Govinda was a blockbuster, Aamir Khan called it vulgar due to..., lead actress was ..
In the glittering galaxy of Bollywood, only a handful of stars have managed to sustain their stardom despite not doing movies for years. However, there is one star who made this possible, and it is none other than Govinda. He made his debut with the 1986 film Ilzaam, which turned out to be a hit. One of Govinda's biggest hits was released in 1993, which earned 10 times more than its budget. While the movie was a hit, it was Aamir Khan who called the film 'obscene.' If Shah Rukh is the 'King of Romance' in Bollywood, then Govinda is undoubtedly the 'King of Comedy'. He has delivered many big hits in his film career. One of his most special films is the 1993 film Aankhen, in which Govinda played a double role. Apart from Govinda, the movie also featured Chunky Pandey, Raageshwari, Ritu Shivpuri, Shilpa Shirodkar, Kader Khan, Sadashiv Amrapurkar, Shakti Kapoor, and Raj Babbar in key roles. When Aankhen was released, it became a huge hit and went on to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 1993. Aamir Khan had said in an interview in 1993–94 that a film works because of a good story, and stars only boost its success. The host then asked Aamir Khan that if this is so, then how did a film like Aankhen do wonders at the box office even though its story was not good. Aamir said that though the director of the movie, David Dhawan, is his close friend, he still doesn't understand why he directed the movie. Calling some scenes obscene, Aamir said that he did not like the film. Aankhen was made for approximately Rs 2.5 crore. It earned Rs 25 crore at the box office and became the highest-grossing Indian film of 1993.

Aamir Khan on Laal Singh Chaddha's failure, depression, and how Farhan Akhtar was almost cast in Sitaare Zameen Par
Actor and producer Aamir Khan has spoken honestly about how the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha affected him deeply, saying he was 'depressed, heartbroken and emotionally battered' after the film didn't connect with most audiences. In a recent interview with Indian Express, Aamir addressed the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. He said, 'It was quite shocking for me because I'd also liked the film. So I was very surprised that people didn't like it. Let me just add here, because I know a lot of people love the film, 25% of the audience has really loved the film. But I also have to admit that the larger bulk, 75% of them didn't connect with the film, they didn't like my work, they had their issues. I understand and respect that. But it was difficult for me to accept." Following the setback, Aamir talked about how he stepped back from acting and decided not to star in his next production, 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. He explained that director RS Prasanna was asked to look for another actor. Eventually, Farhan Akhtar was locked in for the role, with Sivakarthikeyan signed on for the Tamil version. 'That time, I told Prasanna I wouldn't be able to act again so soon. Since the film is good and we've to make it, I asked him to cast someone else. He offered the film to many people. Everyone liked the script, and then finally, we locked Farhan for it. We were also making a Tamil version because Prasanna is a Tamilian. So we locked Sivakarthikeyan for that one," said Aamir. Despite having second thoughts, Aamir chose to be upfront with Farhan and Sivakarthikeyan, who were both understanding. Aamir said, 'On the seventh day, I told Prasanna and Divya, but also said now it's too late. Of course, the moment I said that, all hell broke loose. They insisted I only do it. But I thought it doesn't reflect well on me as a producer after I've locked the actors' dates. But Prasanna convinced me and said I should do it since I was his first choice.' He then concluded, 'So, I told Farhan and Sivakarthikeyan honestly about the journey I'd been through. They were both very supportive. If I was in their shoes, I'd have been very disappointed. But at the end of the day, Farhan and I are friends. Sivakarthikeyan and I are also very fond of each other. I'm hosting a premiere, so I'll definitely invite them for that." Aamir will now return to the screen in 'Sitaare Zameen Par', which is scheduled to release in theatres on June 20. The film will also feature Genelia Deshmukh.
