Nothing Phone 3 launched in India, brings new Glyph interface and tweaked design

After months of speculation and rather free-for-all leaks, the Nothing Phone 3 is finally here. The company launched the Phone 3 globally at an event in London and it is coming to India, given that India is Nothing's key market, at the same time. The Nothing Phone 3 has been priced at Rs 79,999 in India for the base variant. The top variant is priced at Rs 89,999. Although, Nothing says with bank discounts and exchange bonus for some consumers the cost of the Phone 3 could be as low as Rs 62,999. The phone will be on open sale from July the Phone 3 has been priced at 799 Euros. Alongside the phone, Nothing has also launched the Nothing Headphone 1 in India. This has been priced at Rs 21,999 but is available for now at Rs 19,999 as part of launch offer. Globally, the Headphone 1 has been priced at 299 Nothing, the Phone 3 marks its foray into a more premium and flagship segment. Its previous top phone — the Phone 2 — had more modest ambitions. To match its new aspirations, the Phone 3 also comes with upgraded hardware and feature set. The Phone 3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. It sports a 6.67-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The base variant comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The other variant has 16GB RAM and 512GB to the previous Phone 2, the Phone 3 comes with a revamped camera system. In total there are now three cameras — all powered by 50-megapixel image sensors. One of the cameras also sports a periscope lens with 3X optical zoom. In addition, the ultra-wide camera too uses a 50-megapixel image sensor. Inside the phone there is 5500 mAh battery and the phone uses Nothing OS 3.5 software that has been augmented with some AI features. The phone is also IP68 certified against water and dust protection, which should help its credentials in that this is Nothing we are talking about, another big change is around design. First, the old Glyph interface which used lights arranged in thin lines on the back cover is gone. Instead, the phone now uses Glyph Matrix, which is essentially a large circle on the top right of the back cover. Inside the circle there are dot-matrix lights — 489 micro LEDs — which are customisable and can function in the same manner in which Glyph Lights used to do. In fact, the Glyph Matrix is one of the key features of the phone, so much so that Nothing has even put a round button on a back to control it and cycle through its various big design change is the new camera module — or rather the lack of it. In fact, this is going to be a polarising aspect of the Phone 3. Unlike camera modules in other phones which are symmetric, Nothing has decided to break some rules and has given the Phone 3 a camera module where lenses are placed asymmetrically. It gives the phone a distinct personality, a kind of cool quotient that no other phone will possibly dare to match. But for some users it may come across too edgy or too out of line. Talking of camera module design, one nifty feature seems to be a red square that will glow whenever the camera is recording a noted earlier, Nothing Phone 3 is going on sale in India from Flipkart and a few other stores on July 15. Although, pre-booking for the phone starts from July 1. Nothing says that those who pre-book the phone will also get Nothing Ear free with the phones along with one year additional free warranty.- EndsMust Watch
