Ex Strictly star Giovanni Pernice looks smitten with bikini-clad girlfriend Bianca Guaccero as they enjoy another romantic beach day in Barbados

Daily Mail16-05-2025

Giovanni Pernice and his girlfriend Bianca Guaccero were the picture of happiness as they enjoyed another beach day in Barbados on Friday.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star, 34, and actress Bianca, 44, were all smiles as they got cosy in the ocean at the Caribbean island's iconic Sandy Lane Hotel.
Giovanni, who will not be returning to the BBC competition later this year after being left out of the line-up, showed off his hunky figure in a pair of black swimming shorts.
The shirtless Italian star cooled off from the hot weather in the clear ocean with his stunning bikini-clad partner, who showed off her sizzling figure in a skimpy leopard print two-piece.
The star, who won the Italian version of Strictly with Giovanni, beamed as she wrapped her arms around her beau in the ocean.
The pair were then seen enjoying a white inflatable lilo as Giovanni playfully pushed Bianca on it in the shallow water.
After their dip, the happy couple headed to the outdoor showers, where they washed off the saltwater before soaking up the sun at the hotel.
The dancer applied sun lotion to his girlfriend's back before the pair placed pink towels onto their sunbeds to relax.
Giovanni hung a towel over his shoulders while Bianca shielded from the sun behind a pair of large sunglasses and beige hat.
The couple were the winning pair on the Italian version of the BBC show, Ballando con le Stelle, and Giovanni gushed that Bianca was 'was exactly what he needed' following the bombshell allegations made by Amanda Abbington.
And after revealing his 'world collapsed' when his friends abandoned him following the allegations, Giovanni explained how Bianca was 'very supportive'.
He told Heat magazine: 'She came into my life during not the greatest time, so I needed some security.
Giovanni revealed the pair have had to make 'sacrifices' to 'make their relationship work' as Bianca is currently busy working in Italy, where she is based, while the dancer prepares to tour the UK for the next seven months.
Last month, it was revealed that Giovanni will not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing despite hinting at a comeback and the findings of the BBC's misconduct report into his behaviour.
Revealing the cast of this year's Strictly Come Dancing which will air in August, Giovanni was notably absent from the list.
Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk and Jowita Przysta are among those returning to the dance floor this September.
They will be joined by Johannes Radebe, Aljaž Škorjanec Nancy Xu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola who will all take to the floor once more alongside two new stars.
Carlos Gu and Kai Widdrington will be returning after not appearing in the 2024 edition.
In July last year, more than six months after Amanda quit Strictly citing 'personal reasons', the actress accused Giovanni of 'unnecessary, cruel and mean behaviour' during their time dancing together on Strictly.
Giovanni rejected the claims immediately and a BBC investigation ruled in September that her claims of physical aggression and threatening behaviour were not upheld.
Complaints of verbal bullying and harassment meant the BBC issued an apology but Giovanni said he was 'pleased the report has not found any evidence of threatening or abusive behaviour'.
Now cleared by the investigation and a dancer on the Italian version of Strictly, Giovanni will head out on tour again later in the year with best pal Anton Du Beke.
The Italian star fell to his knees on the sand after getting out of the ocean
Giovanni and Bianca looked every inch the loved-up couple as they enjoyed a day out in London last month.
The pair spent quality time together away from the dancefloor as they enjoyed a trip to the UK capital over the festive period.
Bianca shared a photo of Giovanni wrapping his arms around her and giving her a kiss with Big Ben in the background.
The couple also stopped by Buckingham Palace and later enjoyed a romantic evening at The Ritz Hotel.
The pair confirmed their romance in November, with Bianca at the time claiming she had 'difficulty believing in true love' until she met him.
Bianca also declared that she had 'never felt as secure and loved' as she does with the dancer, who is almost 10 years her junior.
'After a long time, there is someone who takes care of me and cares about me,' Giovanni said.
'A woman like her has been missing from my life.'
Giovanni was seen applying sun lotion to his stunning girlfriend's back
He said: 'She came into my life during not the greatest time, so I needed some security. She was aware of the situation that was going on with me in the UK, but she was very supportive'
Bianca was previously married to Italian director Dario Acocella from 2013 until 2017
'He's goofy and crazy, and that made me fall in love with him. It had been a long time since I felt happiness in my heart,' Bianca added.
The two met when he joined the Italian dance show, Ballando con le Stelle, last year following his exit from Strictly Come Dancing amid the Amanda Abbington bullying row.
And it wasn't long before the two were setting tongues wagging thanks to their sizzling chemistry both on and off the dancefloor.
The new romance comes off the back of a string of high profile romances for Giovanni.
When paired with Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote, 34, in 2015 – Giovanni's first year on Strictly – they began dating.
He also found love with singer Ashley Roberts, 43, who appeared on Strictly in 2018 though they were not a pair – she danced with Pasha Kovalev.
He dated Love Island stunner Maura Higgins, 34, for four months in 2021, while in 2022, Giovanni was linked to fellow Strictly professional Jowita Przystal, 30.
Bianca split from her director husband Dario Acocella in 2017. The couple have a daughter called Alice.

Dangerous Animals (2025) Movie Review – A bloody good time

A bloody good time There's an art to crafting a great trailer that doesn't spoil everything, and Dangerous Animals' teaser is almost pitch-perfect in that regard. It's gripping, intriguing, and captures the essence of this horror/thriller beautifully. Clocking in at just over 90 minutes, Dangerous Animals provides little surprises, living up to the promise produced in that teaser and embracing its distilled B-movie greatness. It's a film that's unashamedly visceral and gory, but also surprisingly effective in execution. The story draws inspiration from 10 Cloverfield Lane and Jaws, blending those influences into a lean teen horror in the vein of Don't Breathe and Hush. The opening of Dangerous Animals sets the scene for the film to follow. Mysterious, tense and just a tad surreally funny – Bruce Tucker (played to perfection by Jai Courtney) – runs a shark-diving expedition on his boat. Unfortunately, it all goes wrong for tourist Heather when her boyfriend is killed and fed to the sharks, while she's abducted by this maniacal serial killer. With Bruce on the hunt for new victims, he sets his sights on survivalist Zephyr (Hassie Harrison), a savvy and free-spirited young surfer. When she crosses paths with Bruce, Zephyr is forced to try and survive, doing everything she can to overcome this maniacal predator. With the stakes raised, Zephyr is handcuffed in the depths of Tucker's fishing boat, while he circles the water like a hungry shark, looking for tasty spots to pick up prey. Zephyr will be the next in line to meet a sticky demise though – unless she can outsmart him. The story is simplistic and rather predictable but the performances from both Jai Courtney and Hassie Harrison help this one stand out. The pair work hard to outshine one another, with Courtney's monologues about the ocean, animal hierarchies and predators both chilling and strangely educational. Courtney has an intoxicating way of filling every scene with an eerie sense of dread, and the movie is all the stronger for lingering the camera on him for an uncomfortably long time. Conversely, Harrison's portrayal of Zephyr – a spunky, tough-as-nails survivor – makes for an easy heroine to root for, especially as the movie examines a bit of her backstory and what drives her. There's no big exposition dumps or overlong explanations about the past though, with Sean Byrne instead letting audiences make draw their own conclusions. One of the standout scenes involves no dialogue at all: Bruce silently eating dinner, the camera lingering uncomfortably long. It's incredibly effective and underscores just how far gone he is. All of this is helped by the way Dangerous Animals effectively builds dread with just the right amount of hard cuts and lingering shots. The editors have done a great job here cutting the film together, clearly knowing when to cut away—and when not to. The film's main antagonistic hook (no pun intended) actually stems from Tucker rather than the sharks. These marine predators are used sparingly but effectively enough to maintain their presence as a formidable foe. However, the movie does a good job of portraying them as actual animals rather than maniacal killing machines too ala. Jaws. It's one of the more unique and welcome aspects of this movie that should definitely be applauded Having said that though, Dangerous Animals overplays its hand on several occasions. The movie attempts one too many break-out attempts for Zephyr and it diminishes their impact over time. It's also worth noting too that Moses Markley (Josh Heuston) is embarrassingly underused here. He doesn't have a whole lot to do beyond some filler investigative work to keep him busy, and the material he is given when joined with Zephyr has him playing second fiddle to her character. Moses lacks agency or anything in the way of charisma, which is a shame because this unrealized potential is a big hindrance to what's otherwise a taut thriller. Overall, Dangerous Animals is a decent, if unremarkable, thriller. It doesn't break new ground, and the plot has few surprises, but the strong lead performances and slick editing keep things afloat. Flaws and all, this one's still a bloody good time. Read More: Dangerous Animals Ending Explained

Sir David Attenborough almost killed by faulty scuba diving equipment

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Sir David Attenborough has detailed an unsettling incident in which he nearly drowned when scuba diving. The natural historian and broadcaster, 99, first appeared on screens in the 1950s, when he presented natural history programmes including Coelacanth and Zoo Quest for the BBC. His TV credits now span eight decades, with Sir David since presenting shows including Wildlife on One, The Blue Planet and Planet Earth, as well as the newly released film Ocean. However, he's now recalled a moment early in his career when he came close to a deadly situation. Speaking to Prince William at an event to promote his new documentary Ocean, Sir David was presented with an open-circuit helmet. Picking it up and putting it on his head, he spoke about testing a scuba diving outfit while filming on the Great Barrier Reef in 1957. 'When I put mine on for the first time I suddenly felt water and thought, 'this can't be right'. But by the time the water got about there I thought, 'I'm sure this is not right',' he said. 'Of course, you've got this thing screwed on top of you and you can't breathe or make yourself heard. I was saying 'get it off me'.' Sir David then spoke about the director leading the documentary initially refusing to take his concerns seriously. 'He grabbed it and said it was fine, but I again said there was a fault, and he put it on, and I'm happy to say, he went underwater and came up even faster than I did, because there was actually a fault on the thing,' he added. During the discussion Sir David also described his first dive as a 'sensory overload' and commented on how the reefs he first visited decades ago had now been devastated. 'The awful thing is that it's hidden from you and from me and most people,' he said. 'The thing which I was appalled by when I first saw the shots taken for this film, is that what we have done to the deep ocean floor is just unspeakably awful.' 'I mean, if you did anything remotely like it on land, everybody would be up in arms. If this film does anything, if it just shifts public awareness, it'll be very, very important, and I only hope that people who see it will recognise that something must be done before we destroy this great treasure.' The pair spoke as part of the promotional launch for Ocean, which sees Sir David 'drawing on a lifetime of experience to reveal Earth's most spectacular underwater habitats, showing that we're in the greatest age of Ocean discovery and highlighting its vital importance'. Sir David said he hoped the film could 'expose something new' and encourage viewers to act to save the destruction of the ocean. Despite his indelible impact on the world and environmentalism, last year his producer Mike Gunton told Metro Sir David hated being called a 'national treasure'. More Trending 'He hates it, by the way,' he said. 'I say hates it… If anybody says he's a national treasure, he sort of slightly raises his eyebrows and says, 'Really?' That's a generational thing.' When it was noted Sir David's work is of far greater importance than a title, Mike responded: 'You've hit the nail on the head.' View More » Ocean with David Attenborough is now screening in cinemas nationwide, and airs tonight, Sunday, June 8 at 8pm on National Geographic and is streaming on Disney Plus too. Got a story?
