Week of May 26 Evening News Ratings: All 3 Newscasts Struggle For Viewers Post-Memorial Day

The week after the Memorial Day holiday weekend proved slow for the evening newscasts as all three failed to make week-to-week gains in total viewers or the Adults 25-54 demo. NBC Nightly News was the only newscast not to record declines across the board for the week of May 26, as enough of an audience tuned in for Lester Holt's final broadcast as anchor to keep it from falling into the negative zone with total viewers. Holt has something else to smile about: His final week in the anchor's chair brought the demo gap between Nightly News and ABC World News Tonight with David Muir to just 53,000 viewers-its closest finish since January. Note: The weekly averages of ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday). Monday's (05/26/25) broadcasts were retitled due to the Memorial Day holiday. These broadcasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, WNT averaged 7.042 million total viewers and 884,000 demo viewers for respective drops of -2% and -9% compared to the previous week. Looking at its performance alongside the same week in 2024 (the week beginning May 27), WNT was down -3% in total viewers and -14% in the demo. NBC Nightly News finished second in total viewers and the demo, averaging 5.720 million total viewers and 831,000 demo viewers. Week-to-week, the newscast was flat in the former category and dipped -5% in the latter. Year-to-year, Nightly News was up +2% in total viewers and +4% in the demo-the only newscast with gains relative to the same week in 2024. CBS Evening News drew 3.600 million total viewers and 490,000 A25-54 viewers for declines of -8% in the former category and -12% in the latter. Year-to-year, the newscast declined -15% in total viewers and -24% in the demo. Beginning 8/31/20, national ratings also include Out of Home (OOH) viewing. Averages based on regular telecasts.

Week of May 26 Morning News Ratings: GMA and CBS Mornings Gain Demo Viewers After Memorial Day

The short week that followed the Memorial Day holiday saw all three morning shows experience declines in total viewers. However, ABC News' Good Morning America and CBS News' CBS Mornings posted week-to-week gains in the advertiser-coveted demo of Adults 25-54 for the week of May 26. It may be a post-holiday hiccup, but NBC News' Today showed some vulnerability in its longtime first-place demo position as the gap between it and GMA was less than 100,000 A25-54 viewers. NOTE: GMA, Today, and CBS Mornings were coded as specials on Monday (05/6/25) due to the Memorial Day holiday. These specialed telecasts are excluded from the weekly and season averages. The morning shows' weekly averages are based on four days (Tuesday-Friday). According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, GMA averaged 2.629 million total viewers and 466,000 A25-54 viewers. Compared to the previous week, ABC News' morning show was down -1% in the former category, but up +3% in the latter. Looking at its performance alongside the same week in 2024 (the week of May 27), GMA was down -7% in total viewers and -1% in the demo. Today landed in second place in total viewers, but remained No. 1 in the demo with 2.558 million and 542,000 viewers, respectively. Week-to-week, the morning show saw a -1% decrease in the former category and a double-digit dip of -10% in the latter. Year-to-year, Today was down -2% in total viewers and -3% in the demo. CBS Mornings saw 1.823 million total viewers and 342,000 demo viewers for a decline of -9% in the former category, and a +9% gain in the demo. Year-to-year, the morning show sustained an -11% decline in total viewers and a -13% decline in the demo. Steve Jobs' daughter Eve is marrying a British Olympian — and the guest list is wild

Eve Jobs, the youngest daughter of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, is reportedly set to marry British Olympic equestrian Harry Charles this summer in what is shaping up to be one of the most high-profile weddings of the season. The ceremony in August will take place in the Cotswolds, a countryside enclave known for its celebrity residents and royal connections, according to Tatler. Jobs, 26, a Stanford graduate and accomplished equestrian herself, is also making a name in the fashion world, with modeling credits for Louis Vuitton and appearances on Paris runways. Her fiancé, Charles, 25, clinched a gold medal in team jumping at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The couple made their public debut at the Games last summer and reportedly became engaged shortly after. They share a mutual passion for equestrian sports, with Jobs once posting a congratulatory message after Charles' Olympic victory: 'TEAM GOLD!!!!!! Beyond proud of you my love!!!!' Guests expected to attend the wedding include former Vice President Kamala Harris, a longtime confidante of Laurene Powell Jobs, Eve's mother and one of the wealthiest philanthropists in the world. British royalty may also make an appearance, with Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi reportedly on the guest list, alongside tech heiresses like Jennifer and Phoebe Gates, daughters of Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Eve Jobs, born in 1998, grew up in Palo Alto with immense wealth but a deliberately grounded upbringing. Her father famously restricted his children from using the very devices he helped create. Her mother has stated publicly that the family's estimated $21.7 billion fortune will not be passed down 'If I live long enough, it ends with me,' she told the New York Times in 2020. Rather than rely on her family name, Jobs has forged her own path. She made her mark as both a competitive showjumper and a rising figure in high fashion. She is signed with DNA Models and has appeared on the cover of Vogue. Jobs' siblings — Reed, 33, and Erin, 29 — are expected to attend, but it remains unclear whether her half-sister, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, will be present. Lisa, now 47, has had a complicated public history with her late father, though she was reportedly by his side during his final days before he died in October 2011. Fashion watchers are speculating on Jobs' choice of dress. Known for her modern style and designer affiliations, she could opt for a couture piece — or perhaps even a subtle nod to her father's signature wardrobe with a design by Issey Miyake, the creator of Steve Jobs' signature black turtleneck.
