Twin Peaks Restaurant and Sports Bar, located in Arden-Arcade, announced the closure of its only California franchise location.

'To our fans, we thank you for nearly 10 years of joining us for the 'food, fun, cold beer and sports,' the business said on social media. 'It's with a heavy heart that we must share that Twin Peaks Sacramento is now permanently closed. Thank you and be well.'
Twin Peaks is a hooters-style establishment that is prominent in the midwestern and southern parts of the U.S. There are nearly 100 locations. It is popular for its 'Twin Peaks Girls' and barrel-aged whiskey.

'The second you step inside, you're surrounded by a lodge full of friendly and attentive Twin Peaks Girls serving up scratch food and our signature 29 degree beers,' the company said on its website.
It's unclear why the Sacramento location closed down. However, it comes amid a series of other abrupt closures throughout the region within recent months. On April 28, Device Brewing Company shut down all three of its Sacramento-area locations without notice after the landlord filed suit for $23,000 in missed rent payments.
Nearly one month, May 31, Track 7 Brewing Company closed both of its Sacramento locations with no warning. The reason behind the closure has not been revealed.

California gun control bill that could ban popular Glock pistol sales moves forward
( — A bill that could ban the sale of the most popular handgun in the U.S. is potentially on its way to becoming law after it passed through the California State Assembly on Tuesday. Assembly Bill 1127, also referred to by many people as the Glock Ban Bill, was authored by Jesse Gabriel (D-Encino) and would prohibit licensed firearms dealers from selling guns that can be 'easily converted by hand or with common household tools' into a machine gun. Although the Glock isn't specifically mentioned in the written legislation, it falls into that category of firearms. New gun laws won't be enforced by Sutter County Sheriff's Office 'I am pleased to be presenting AB 1127, which will protect communities from mass shootings and gun violence by encouraging gun manufacturers to prevent the conversion of their firearms to dangerous automatic weapons,' Gabriel said during an Assembly Standing Committee hearing. He continued, 'Automatic weapons are exceptionally lethal and capable of firing hundreds of rounds per minute. They are illegal in California. Unfortunately, some semi-automatic firearms feature a dangerous design flaw that allows them to be converted to fully automatic weapons through an attachment of a cheap and easy-to-use device, known as a switch.' In 2022, a converted Glock was reportedly used in a mass shooting that occurred just blocks from the California State Capitol Building. It left six people dead and several others injured. 'Sadly, certain companies in the gun industry have known about this issue for decades and have done nothing meaningful to address it,' Gabriel said. 'This common-sense legislation will ensure that the gun industry is held accountable and that we're doing everything we possibly can to protect our communities from mass shootings.' AB 1127 is supported by organizations like Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, and Voices for Progress. However, other groups such as the National Association for Gun Rights and Gun Owners of California Inc. are in opposition. 'AB 1127 is a blatant attack on your right to own one of the most common self-defense firearms in America,' Gun Owners of California said on social media before the bill passed through the Assembly. 'This bill targets semiautomatic pistols used by millions of law-abiding gun owners—and it's being pushed under the false pretense of 'safety'.' NAGR vowed to fight back against the proposed legislation. 'California (is) pushing rapidly towards a total ban of Glock pistols,' NAGR said on social media. 'The most popular firearm in the country. Man arrested for child abuse in Oroville, endangering toddler in roadway
( — A 31-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for child abuse after he was witnessed endangering his child in the roadway and admitted to being under the influence of cocaine, according to the Oroville Police Department. Video Above: Controversial child sex trafficking bill AB379 amended Police said officers responded to reports of a man creating a traffic hazard around 1:30 p.m. on Meyers Street and Greenville Street. Callers said the man, later identified as Oscar Bonilla, was playing with an infant in the roadway, refusing to move for cars, walking in traffic while carrying the child and even dropping the toddler on the pavement. More witnesses said that Bonilla put the child on the street, walked in and out of traffic, and described him to be 'flinging the child around like a rag doll.' It was also reported that the suspect was armed with a knife and made motions as if he were trying to hurt the baby, OPD said. A witness was eventually able to take the toddler away when Bonilla dropped them. OPD said Bonilla was exhibiting erratic behavior when they made contact and admitted to being under the influence of a large quantity of cocaine. Police discovered that the suspect had removed the toddler from their home. Police investigate fatal, solo-vehicle crash in Rocklin According to OPD, the baby was taken to the hospital after they were left with road rash, scrapes and bruises. The suspect was taken into custody after being treated for his injuries at the hospital. Bonilla was arrested on felony child abuse and felony assault with a deadly weapon. City of Sacramento offers webinar to help those struggling with student loans
( — Officials with the City of Sacramento announced that their Financial Empowerment Center is offering a free webinar to help those struggling with student loans. Video Above: GOP student loan plan sparks debate over higher payments, fewer options The webinar takes place online from noon to 1 p.m. on June 10. Officials said that borrowers will be given the tools required to make informed decisions, stay current on payments and recover if they've already entered default. Federal updates of repayment and forgiveness programs will also be shared. The webinar will teach students how to: Avoid falling into student loan default. Recover from default and understand their rights Identify opportunities for loan forgiveness or cancellation Navigate repayment plans and prioritize next steps Access updated information about recent student loan changes 'Student loans can be a significant burden, and now is an especially confusing time,' said Amy Williamson, the City's Financial Empowerment Manager. 'This webinar will help people make informed, confident choices.' One-on-one student loan counseling, which is currently available through the FEC, will also be a highlighted topic. Officials said the FCC also supports residents in building financial health through reducing debt, building savings, improving credit and connecting with safe, affordable checking and savings accounts.
