Ana de Armas rocks a mini skirt with knee-high leather boots as she arrives in Paris

Daily Mail27-05-2025

Ana de Armas rocked a pair of knee-high leather boots as she arrived in Paris for a question and answer session with fans on Tuesday.
The actress, 37, who is currently promoting her latest film Ballerina, looked as stylish as ever in the all-black ensemble.
She teamed a high-waisted mini skirt with a long sleeved top and layered over a leather trench coat.
Ana accessorised her outfit with gold jewellery and topped it off with black, opaque tights.
Ballerina is the latest instalment in the John Wick franchise, with Ana starring as the lead character Eve Macarro.

The actress has been rumoured to be dating Tom Cruise for months, but neither has publicly confirmed their relationship status.
When quizzed about the scrutiny into her private life, Ana admitted during an interview with ELLE Spain, that she's grown more accustomed to dealing with it and accepted it came as part of the price of fame.
Alluding to her apparent determination not to confirm her and Tom's relationship status, she explained she's learned how important it is for her to have a separation between her 'public persona' and private life.
She said: 'Over the years, you get more used to it. You learn to find your corners, your privacy, your way of doing things, your lifestyle...
'I'm one of those who think there should be external boundaries, a barrier that's quite visible to others and to oneself.'
'Making it clear, "This is as far as I go with my work, my public persona, what's expected of me, and what I want to share with viewers and fans." That's wonderful, and I want to do it.
'You can't let the negative side of fame upset you, because then you won't enjoy the beautiful aspects, but it's essential to separate.
'We're all people and we need that privacy, consideration, and space.'

She added: 'It seems incredible to have to say it, but we've forgotten that minimum of respect for others.'
'Sometimes we have to make an abrupt stop so others are aware of your reality, but, well, I find my way. When I want to disappear from the map, I do'.
However, Ana also admitted that the public criticism she's received over some of her past relationships has 'hurt me at times'.
Tom has been busy promoting his own starring role in recent weeks following the release of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, which premiered earlier this month.

Fran Kirby follows Mary Earps in announcing England retirement

Fran Kirby has become the second England player to retire just weeks before Sarina Wiegman's side defend their European Championship title in Switzerland. Having represented England at four major tournaments, including starting every game of the Euros triumph in 2022, Kirby joins Mary Earps in bowing out of international football. Earps called time on her own England career last week after losing her starting place to Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, in a move that left Wiegman 'disappointed and sad'. Kirby's decision comes just four weeks out from the tournament – and after she had played in Friday's 6-0 thrashing of Portugal at Wembley. She withdrew from the squad for Tuesday's match against Spain late and told her England team-mates after the 2-1 defeat of her decision to retire. She announced her decision on social media after the match having been told by Wiegman she was unlikely to make the Euros squad. 'After being in the England team since I was 21, it's time to close that chapter of my life,' wrote the 31-year-old Brighton midfielder. 'I didn't ever want this day to come, but I cannot tell you how proud I am it happened. 'It's been the biggest honour to represent my country, one that I had only dreamt about as a young girl. I've played with incredible players, worked with some incredible managers, played in some amazing tournaments and have some irreplaceable memories.' In an interview with the BBC about her retirement, Kirby explained that she had been mulling retirement for more than a year and knew that this summer's Euros would be her last major tournament for England. She added: 'The plan was to retire after the Euros but after speaking to Sarina I'm not going to make the squad. It was like a dagger to my heart but also a weight off my shoulders. It was emotional for both of us but we both respected what each person was saying.' Reacting to the news on Tuesday night, Wiegman said: 'First of all I love working with her. I think she has had an incredible career, which is still going on. She's an amazing player, she's an incredible person too. She did everything to make the squad. She has always been ready to play, ready to perform, helping others, whatever I asked her to do. 'Over time Fran and I have had several conversations. She has been unlucky with injuries too, she always fought back and still had some opportunities to play. I told her she was most likely not going to make the squad, we had these honest conversations. I think she's an inspiration to a lot of people and an example.' Kirby started every game in 2022, represented Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics after making her international debut in 2014, and finishes her career with 77 caps and 19 goals. She added: 'My mum had a dream of me representing my country, and I'm so proud I was able to do that and play in front of you all. I will never, ever forget the noise when my name is read out at a stadium. I was first selected when I was playing in WSL2, I played a part in the game-changing World Cup, winning bronze in 2015, creating some memories of a lifetime. 'Starting in every game and winning the Euros in 2022 was a dream come true, to be a part of change in women's football was one of the best experiences I could have ever imagined. Thank you.'

Fran Kirby announces England retirement after missing out on Euro 2025 squad

Fran Kirby has announced her retirement from international football with immediate effect after learning that she will not be part of Sarina Wiegman's squad for this summer's European Championship. In interviews with the BBC and ESPN, released shortly after England's 2-1 loss against Spain on Tuesday, the 31-year-old midfielder explained that she had already been planning to retire from England duty after July's Euros but she has brought that decision forward after being told she will not be going to Switzerland. Wiegman will name her final squad of 23 on Thursday. The news is the second sudden retirement by a member of the Lionesses' Euro 2022-winning side in the space of eight days, after Mary Earps' shock announcement in May. Kirby, who has 77 senior international caps and scored 19 goals, had been a key part of the national-team setup since her debut in 2014. 'After being in the England team since I was 21, it's time to close that chapter of my life. I didn't ever want this day to come, but I cannot tell you how proud I am [that] it happened,' Kirby said in a statement on Instagram. 'It's been the biggest honour to represent my country, one that I had only dreamt about as a young girl. My journey has been full of ups and downs, setbacks and achievements. Enough has been said and written about those, but regardless of whatever was thrown at me, I want you all to know that every time I put on that England badge I gave it 100%. 'Every single call-up, I accepted my role and did whatever was needed for the team. I wanted England to win. I've always been there to help England win. My mum had a dream of me representing my country and I'm so proud I was able to do that and play in front of you all. Carlos Alcaraz on ‘perfect' French Open match: ‘I could close my eyes and everything went in'

Carlos Alcaraz described how it felt to play the 'perfect' tennis match by saying: 'I could close my eyes and everything went in'. Alcaraz defeated Tommy Paul 6-0 6-1 6-4 in just 93 minutes to return to the French Open semi-finals for the third year in a row. The defending champion will face Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals on Friday after blasting Paul, the 12th seed, off the court in a one-sided night session match. Almost half of the total points won by Alcaraz were winners, with the Spaniard hitting 40 across the straight-sets win in what was his best display of the tournament so far. He was interviewed by three-time French Open champion Mats Wilander, who asked Alcaraz how it felt to play the 'perfect' match at Roland Garros. 'I could close my eyes and everything went in. My feeling today was unbelievable,' Alcaraz told the crowd. 'I was trying to hit every shot 100 per cent. I was trying to hit everything forward. Today was a day where everything went in. It was unbelievable.' Alcaraz apologised to the night session crowd for denying them a longer contest and explained that he felt focused from the start because he knew Paul was a tough opponent. 'I have to say: I know you wanted to watch more tennis, I'm sorry about it!' Alcaraz told the crowd. 'I had to do my work.' Alcaraz had dropped at least a set in three of his four matches coming into the quarter-final against Paul, who he played at Wimbledon and the Olympics last year. The 22-year-old did not let his levels drop as he set up another clash with Musetti after meeting in the Monte Carlo final and Rome semi-finals this season. Alcaraz won both meetings. 'We were in the quarter-finals of Roland Garros, these matches are never easy,' Alcaraz said. I played against Tommy many times and every match was really difficult - he beat my twice. 'That helped me in the beginning of the match to help me focus on my game. Tommy is an unbelievable player and that helped me today.'
