Willie Mullins enters three potential star horses – including one his wife owns – in race he's won for past six years
The Closutton boss has made the Friday bumper at Tramore his own since 2019, when he claimed it with future Listed winner Getaway Gorgeous.
1
Since then the roll call of honour includes Ruaille Buaille, Coole Og, Space Tourist, Caman Eileen and, most recently, More Coko.
Every single one of Mullins' six winners has been sent off odds-on favourite for the 2m½f Flat race.
While none of them went onto become household names, the three he has entered for this year's renewal all boast fascinating pedigrees.
Certainly good enough to suggest one of them could burst through into his top tier for the upcoming season.
Among them is five-year-old mare Katie Can't Count, who is owned by Mullins' wife Jackie.
Katie Can't Count is by the former Aidan O'Brien-trained multiple Group 1 winner Order Of St George, who has the Ascot Gold Cup on his CV.
Among his best progeny is Grade 2 bumper-winning mare Seo Linn, who won at this year's Aintree Grand National Festival.
Mullins has also entered fellow five-year-old La Confiner, a No Risk At All mare who will be making her debut as well for owner Brendan O'Sullivan.
La Confiner was bought for around £30,000 at the Goffs Arkle stores sale in June 2023.
But arguably the most interesting of the lot is four-year-old gelding Highland Realm.
He is by globe-trotting middle-distance superstar Highland Reel and out of Stops A Nation - a half-sister to Mullins' beloved Wicklow Brave.
A 'horse of a lifetime', Wicklow Brave won just shy of £1million with 17 wins from 59 races before being fatally injured in the 2019 American Grand National.
Stops A Nation, who was also trained by Mullins, won a Tramore bumper on debut in April 2019 and is also a half-sister to the former John Gosden mare Brass Ring, who won four times over staying trips.
Mullins will make his final declarations for the race on Wednesday.
He is busy readying his massive squad for the 2025-26 National Hunt season - but will go into it without two big names.
Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit were recently retired.
But it is hoped former Gold Cup king Galopin Des Champs will come back all guns blazing.
And jumps fans could be in for an early treat should he start his season in the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown once more.
Gavin Cromwell revealed his Gold Cup winner Inothewayurthinkin is likely to run there first time out.
That means this year's Gold Cup 1-2 could have the first of a few head-to-heads there at the end of November.

It consists of 12 songs, including the title track that features pop star Sabrina Carpenter. The full track list is: 1. The Fate Of Ophelia 2. Elizabeth Taylor 3. Opalite 4. Father Figure 5. Eldest Daughter 6. Ruin The Friendship 7. Actually Romantic 8. Wi$h Li$t 9. Wood 10. Cancelled! 11. Honey 12. The Life Of A Showgirl (featuring Sabrina Carpenter) Long-time collaborators Max Martin and Shellback, two Swedish producers who worked with Swift on some of her biggest hits, joined the pop star for this album. Within four hours of posting the full podcast episode on YouTube, it had already gathered 4.7m views. 'The hardest-working star in pop' The album follows last year's The Tortured Poets Department, which was released during the Eras tour. That tour, with shows on five continents and in 51 cities, raked in more than $2.2bn (£1.62bn) and was the highest-grossing tour of all time. "This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant," Swift said during her podcast appearance. Sky News said after her globe-trotting tour and a swathe of re-releases over recent years, the new album cemented Swift's reputation "as the hardest-working star in pop".

Tottenham are on their way home to prepare for the start of the Premier League season. Will they get over this disappointment in time to see off newly-promoted Burnley on Saturday? I'll leave you with highlights from a night of drama in Udine. Update: Date: 23:26 BST 13 August Title: 'Once PSG scored the first goal we called it' Content: FT: PSG 2-2 Tottenham (PSG win 4-3 on pens) Aaron LennonFormer Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live PSG never know when they are beaten. They showed their quality all last season and today. They have only been back a week and they were really rusty today. They started to creep into the game and then took control of possession and once they scored that first goal we called it. PSG stepped up another gear. They were 2-0 up with five minutes to go. You can see now the players are stood on the pitch separately in little huddles and on their own. They are absolutely devastated. They got the trophy that they had been longing for last season and this could have been a real step forward for Tottenham. Instead it's a real blow. Absolute devastation and shock all around us for those in white shirts up in the stands who are quickly making their way to the exits. Five minutes away from winning their second major trophy in 17 years. They did everything right until they conceded the first goal that made it 2-1 and then they crumbled. You could feel the pressure mounting from PSG. And then when you get to penalties, it's a lottery. Chevalier is a terrific young goalkeeper but he's not totally proven at the very highest level yet. He made the mistake for the second goal and you saw him celebrate wildly when Gonzalo Ramos scored the equaliser. He pulled off one very important save in the shootout and that ultimately proved enough, with Mathys Tel also missing his. Pete Update: Date: 23:10 BST 13 August Title: 'We'd like to strengthen the squad' Content: FT: PSG 2-2 Tottenham (PSG win 4-3 on pens) Tottenham Hotspur More from Thomas Frank, speaking to TNT Sports about set- pieces: "It is key. For any team it should be a weapon in my opinion. We will definitely be focusing on it because I think it is a key area. At times I think we showed that we can play up against any team in the world. That is a positive I will take away from this." On further transfer business: "We'd like to strengthen the squad. No doubt about that. We do work very hard to see if we can do that. In general I am very happy with the squad but in any transfer window we try to see if we can make the squad stronger before the window closes." On facing Burnley in the Premier League opener on Saturday: "It is a short turnaround, there will be disappointment in the next 24 hours and when I wake up tomorrow, but tomorrow afternoon we will be ready, and Friday we will be more ready. We had them exactly where we wanted them for 80-something minutes until the 2-1 goal, then of course the momentum shifted a little bit. "The team, the players, the club, the fans, there is a lot to be happy with. It is a flip of the coin when you go to a penalty shootout. "We showed that we can be adaptable and pragmatic, and we needed to be against a team like PSG. The way we wanted to defend, high pressure and low defending, was top, almost perfect, and also the set pieces were very good and dangerous." Also after missing out on the Club World Cup to Chelsea, it is important that they came back and won this, it would have been a bit of an anti climax had they been beaten again. Frank seems to have made them more robust and difficult to play against. The Spursy tag will be hard to shake off with performances like this after 80 minutes, but they gave PSG a decent game which many said was impossible before kick off. Dave, Morecambe

Rory McIlroy shoots down offer to be player-captain at 2027 Ryder Cup
As golf waits to see if Keegan Bradley will become the first Ryder Cup player-captain for 62 years, Rory McIlroy has shot down the suggestion that he could take on the dual role for Europe because 'I don't think you can do it'. Last summer McIlroy said he had 'contemplated' a suggestion that he could be player-captain at Adare Manor in 2027 but, speaking before the second leg of the FedEx Cup play-offs, the Northern Irishman said: 'I have been asked to do that and I've turned it down. The idea of me being a playing captain sometime soon has come up and I've shot it down straight away. 'You think about the extra media the captains have to do, the extra meetings with the vice-captains, with the PGA of America in Keegan's case, preparing your speech for the opening ceremony — there's a lot of things that people don't see which the captain does the week of the Ryder Cup, especially now it has become so big. 'If you'd said it 20 years ago I'd say, yeah, it was probably possible, but [with] how big of a spectacle and everything that's on the line now, I just think it would be a very difficult position to be in.' Bradley will know his six automatic qualifiers for the US team for next month's Ryder Cup at Bethpage after this week's BMW Championship in Maryland, and speculation is intensifying about whether he will then include himself as one of his six captain's picks. Bradley says he is leaning heavily on his vice-captains, and Jim Furyk will step up if the captain is playing on the course, but McIlroy suggested Bradley would also have to limit his appearances. 'The captain isn't going to be on the course all day, so really he's only going to be able to play one session on Friday and one on Saturday,' he said. 'Would you rather have the flexibility to go twice if he's playing well? Look, it's just my opinion.' McIlroy added that Bradley was one of the top dozen players in the United States — he is ranked tenth in the Ryder Cup points list and needs to retain the BMW title at Caves Valley to climb into a top-six berth. 'That's why everyone is so interested and it's such a compelling case.' Enter Bradley, who has actually had four middling tournaments since the win at the Travelers Championship in June. 'We're ready for this if it happens,' he said of taking on both jobs. 'I'm not sure it's going to. I can truly sit here and say I don't know what's going to happen.' When McIlroy's doubts were relayed to him, Bradley added: 'He may be right. We don't know. No one knows. Everybody was telling me at the start of the year why a guy can't be captain and have a good year [but] for me, I feel like this is one of the best years I've ever had.' Justin Rose, the winner on Sunday in Memphis and potentially Luke Donald's successor as Europe's captain, also added his thoughts. The 45-year-old, who has now guaranteed his place in Europe's automatic spots, said Bradley's form had created the dilemma. Rose said: 'If he feels he's an absolute strategic brilliant mind then maybe he's focused one way. Or he thinks, 'Damn, I'm playing well and I need to win points, I'm going to do it that way.' He's obviously a charismatic and fiery competitor, and I think [he] will become a great captain. He's almost played too well for his own liking in a sense.' Scottie Scheffler, the world No1, then added the American take and did not mince words. 'We have a really good group of guys and Keegan can only help that. If it's something Keegan wants [to play] I think he's a guy we'd all love to have on the team.' More Ryder Cup questions then strained his patience. 'The Ryder Cup is over a month away,' he said. 'If you want to talk about this week let's talk about this week. If not, I've got practice to do.'
