Almost time to go.
Tottenham are on their way home to prepare for the start of the Premier League season.
Will they get over this disappointment in time to see off newly-promoted Burnley on Saturday?
I'll leave you with highlights from a night of drama in Udine.

PSG never know when they are beaten. They showed their quality all last season and today. They have only been back a week and they were really rusty today.
They started to creep into the game and then took control of possession and once they scored that first goal we called it. PSG stepped up another gear.

I think this will be damaging for Tottenham, I really do. They were 2-0 up with five minutes to go.
You can see now the players are stood on the pitch separately in little huddles and on their own. They are absolutely devastated.
They got the trophy that they had been longing for last season and this could have been a real step forward for Tottenham. Instead it's a real blow.

Devastation. Absolute devastation and shock all around us for those in white shirts up in the stands who are quickly making their way to the exits.
Five minutes away from winning their second major trophy in 17 years. They did everything right until they conceded the first goal that made it 2-1 and then they crumbled.
You could feel the pressure mounting from PSG. And then when you get to penalties, it's a lottery.

Title: Chevalier 'terrific but not totally proven'

Matt SpiroFrench football writer on BBC Radio 5 Live
Should Gianluigi Donnarumma leave PSG then there will comparisons to him for Lucas Chevalier with everything he does.
Chevalier is a terrific young goalkeeper but he's not totally proven at the very highest level yet. He made the mistake for the second goal and you saw him celebrate wildly when Gonzalo Ramos scored the equaliser.
He pulled off one very important save in the shootout and that ultimately proved enough, with Mathys Tel also missing his.

Former Tottenham midfielder Danny Murphy, speaking to BBC Sport about what Spurs can achieve this season: "I think to get back into the European places and have a good run in the Champions League, that would be realistic. I think there is lots to look forward to: better competition for places, younger players with more experience and there's still a few weeks left in the window."

A tough game to play, and a tough one to lose. We did so well though that you have to take positives. We could have been thrashed like some teams were by PSG, but what a fight we made. Have to be good at something to get PSG to penalties in a Super Cup final!

Title: 'We'd like to strengthen the squad'

More from Thomas Frank, speaking to TNT Sports about set- pieces: "It is key. For any team it should be a weapon in my opinion. We
will definitely be focusing on it because I think it is a key area. At times I think we showed that we can play
up against any team in the world. That is a positive I will take away from this."
On further transfer
business: "We'd like
to strengthen the squad. No doubt about that. We do work very hard to see if we can do that. In general I am very happy with the squad but in any transfer window we try to see if we can make the squad stronger before the
window closes."
On facing Burnley
in the Premier League opener on Saturday: "It is a short turnaround, there will be disappointment in
the next 24 hours and when I wake up tomorrow, but tomorrow afternoon we will be ready, and Friday we will be more ready. And we will make sure we come flying out on Saturday."

Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank, speaking to TNT Sports: "I think we played a very good game against one of the best teams in the world, maybe the best at this moment in time. We had them exactly where we wanted them for 80-something minutes until the 2-1 goal, then of course the momentum shifted a little bit.
"The team, the players, the club, the fans, there is a lot to be happy with. It is a flip of the coin when you go to a penalty shootout.
"We showed that we can be adaptable and pragmatic, and we needed to be against a team like PSG. The way we wanted to defend, high pressure and low defending, was top, almost perfect, and also the set pieces were very good and dangerous."

We've waited so long for a French team to follow Marseille who won the Champions League in 1993, and PSG have finally done it.
Also after missing out on the Club World Cup to Chelsea, it is important that they came back and won this, it would have been a bit of an anti climax had they been beaten again.
It is a fifth trophy that they have won now in the last 12 months.

Not a Spurs fan, but if that was last season's team they'd have been done by three or four goals. Frank seems to have made them more robust and difficult to play against. The Spursy tag will be hard to shake off with performances like this after 80 minutes, but they gave PSG a decent game which many said was impossible before kick off.

With England set to rest captain Harry Brook and other senior figures like Joe Root ahead of the Ashes, next month's three-match one-day series in Ireland offers opportunities for younger players to be blooded. It was a similar scenario against the Irish two Septembers ago when England's director of cricket Rob Key and his fellow selectors delved beneath the surface and into a talent pool that included debutants Jamie Smith and Tom Hartley.

Straight after Arne Slot 's first season at Feyenoord, 16 players left the club. Some for pastures which they viewed as greener grass, some because the club knew their place in the food chain and needed to sell their best assets, some turfed out by Slot simply because they were not good enough.
