Crystal Palace vs Leicester City LIVE: Women's Super League latest score, goals and updates from fixture
The new Women's Super League marks the start of a new era for reigning champions Chelsea, with long-serving boss Emma Hayes having departed in summer to start a new adventure with the USA Women's team.
Last year they just about did enough to claim the title on goal difference ahead of Manchester City, while Arsenal will again hope to make it a three-horse race for the WSL title. Meanwhile Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham will hope to progress after further rebuilding this summer.
Crystal Palace were promoted to replace Bristol City in the top flight, while on a wider note, the league is now under the management and operation of a new organisation set up to lead women's football towards further growth and progression, with Nikki Doucet overseeing both the WSL and Championship in a new phase for the game.

Tottenham sack women's head coach Robert Vilahamn
Tottenham have sacked women's first team head coach Robert Vilahamn after two years in charge. Vilahamn led the club to an FA Cup final in his first season at the club alongside a sixth place finish but Tottenham have decided to part ways with the 42-year-old after Spurs finished second-bottom in the Women's Super League this campaign. Advertisement The Swedish coach joined in 2023 and was handed a three-year contract extension last July but only relegated Crystal Palace conceded more goals than Vilahamn's side in a disappointing season. Tottenham managing director Andy Rogers said: 'There have been some special moments during Robert's tenure, including reaching the FA Cup final for the first time. 'However, results and performances this season have not been to the level we would expect and now is the right time to make a change. 'We should like to thank Robert for his professionalism and efforts over the past two seasons, and we wish him well for the future.' Advertisement

'Positive after positive' for Northern Ireland's Devenny
Crystal Palace's Justin Devenny said he relished the challenge of playing a new position for Northern Ireland in their 2-1 friendly defeat by Denmark on game in Copenhagen saw manager Michael O'Neill pick the 21-year-old to start at wing-back for the first time at international who won the FA Cup with Oliver Glasner's side this season, performed admirably throughout, creating Northern Ireland's early goal while also managing the threat posed by Lazio's Gustav Isaksen."It was a new position for me but I enjoyed it and wherever I play for the team I'm willing to do a shift," he said of what was his fourth cap."Michael had told me he was thinking of playing me there and we did a few bits and bobs in training. To be fair, I'm familiar with it from Palace as well."I know the roles and responsibilities of it and it's just putting that into place."O'Neill has previously played the right-footed Brodie Spencer on the left side of his backline with the Huddersfield Town man performing well in recent manager thought that Devenny's comfort on the ball gave his side a "nice outlet" at Parken Stadium. "I thought he did really well," O'Neill said."He's got his hands full against a winger that obviously causes you a lot of problems. Justin's a midfield player but he's left-sided and I thought he dealt with it very, very well. "He gave us a nice outlet on the left-hand side as well in terms of his use of the ball, so he was a big, big positive." Along with Liverpool's Conor Bradley, Devenny was one of only two players in the Northern Ireland panel to feature in the Premier League this highlight of his domestic season, however, was of course his side's Wembley victory over Manchester City in the FA Cup final and the Scotland-born midfielder is already looking forward to playing European football at Selhurst Park next season."Now it has probably sunk in but at the time I was in shock," he said of being an unused substitute in the final."It was such a big achievement at such a young age. I'll probably look back on my career in times to come and think of that day. It was special and to do it with a special group of boys was great."It's positive after positive. That's what I want to do with my career, take the next step and then the next step after that. Hopefully there will be some opportunities to come for me."Before that, though, is Tuesday night's friendly with Iceland where Devenny hopes both to make a first home start for his country and for the side to build momentum before the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign in September."Hopefully I'll get a start. It's a special atmosphere and the fans are great, so I can't wait for that," he added."It is about getting that team togetherness and knowing the way we play. Even for me, this is my third camp and it's about understanding the players I'm playing with."It's a great learning experience and I think that builds momentum into the big games."

Spurs sack women's team boss Robert Vilahamn after waiting even longer than they did to axe Ange
TOTTENHAM have dropped the axe on Robert Vilahamn's run as manager of their Women's Super League side. Their parting of ways with the head coach, 42, follows the team ending the 2024/25 campaign second from bottom. 4 4 4 Today the club confirmed their decision to end Vilahamn's reign which comes two days after them sacking their Prem team boss Ange Postecoglu. The Aussie got the boot 16 days after leading the Londoners to Europa League glory. Their 11th-placed finish is their lowest ever in the WSL and follows a run of just five wins and five draws in 22 games and 12 losses. It also comes one season on from Spurs reaching the Women's FA Cup final for the first time last year where they fell to a 4-0 defeat to Man United. In a written statement today the club said: "There have been some special moments during Robert's tenure, including reaching the FA Cup final for the first time. "However, results and performances this season have not been to the level we would expect and now is the right time to make a change. "We should like to thank Robert for his professionalism and efforts over the past two seasons, and we wish him well for the future." Vilahamn's two-season Tottenham stint follows his three years at Swedish club BK Hacken where he worked as an assistant and then manager of their women's team. During his time as Hacken head coach he steered them to two Swedish Cup finals and Champions League qualification in 2023. The Sweden-born manager, who took charge of Tottenham in July that year, enjoyed a promising start in first season at their helm. He guided Spurs to sixth-place in addition to the 2024 FA Cup final. 4 He also steered them to their first ever defeat of Arsenal in the WSL with a 1-0 win against the Gunners at Tottenham Stadium in December 2023. Vilahamn's departure follows some significant senior level changes at the club. Aside from the head coach's exit and Postecoglu's departure, Spurs executive director Donna-Maria Culllen stood down from her role on June 2.
