Cadbury unveils 'world's largest' Creme Egg
And what's more, not a bit of the brown behemoth - on display at Birmingham tourist attraction Cadbury World - is fake. It's real chocolate, with real gooey fondant filling and even has the signature touch of the engraved twinkle. The only bit of the Easter treat that isn't quite legit is the wrapping. It's actually a painted veneer, presumably because there was not a piece of foil large enough, lest a run on crinkly silver lead to stale sarnies. Terry Collins, who made the egg with fellow chocolatier Dawn Jenks, said nobody "gets to eat the egg unfortunately". Although asked whether not even he got to have a little nibble, he confessed to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I was tempted during creation, I won't lie."He said: "Here at Cadbury World we normally do creations for each season and we were just thinking 'what better way to celebrate Easter than something as iconic as a Creme Egg?' and we figured 'we've got to go [as] massive as we can with it'."The pair crafted it by hand over two-and-a-half days.
Asked why it was so heavy, Mr Collins said: "That would be just purely down to the amount of chocolate we used and fondant."To actually make the egg we've had to have a mould, which we've got two sides of, and then we have to build up the chocolate by hand to make sure that the egg actually stays intact."Ms Jenks said: "We challenged ourselves to create something unique and memorable this Easter. "Replicating the much-loved Cadbury Creme Egg on an extra-large scale was an ambitious project, and it has been so rewarding to see the vision brought to life."The egg is on display at Cadbury World's chocolate-making zone until 27 April.

99 Flake name origin explained in full and it has nothing to do with price
In a bid to beat the heat, many of us will indulge in an ice cream or two to help cool down - but do you know how the iconic soft serve got it's name as a 99 Flake? Another heatwave is blasting across the UK – with weather experts predicting temperatures of 31C in some spots are "quite likely". So in a bid to cool down, many of us will turn to an ice cream, to be enjoyed while sat in the sun and Mr Whippy vans serve up a treasure trove of frozen delights as they cruise our neighbourhoods – from classic Fabs to vibrant Twisters and Fruit Pastille ice lollies. But 99 Flakes remain the ultimate crowd-pleaser from their entire selection. Despite munching on these creamy treats for generations, there are surprising truths about them that folks are only now discovering. One of the biggest myths is that they're dubbed 99 Flakes because of their once rock-bottom price. However, the numeric name was actually chosen by Cadbury. You'll have spotted that 99s exclusively describe ice creams topped with a chocolate flake, an innovation from the British confectionery giant dating back to 1930. The Cadbury website explains that '99' was selected to charm Italian residents in the UK. It carries overtones of being the 'cream of the crop', making the pudding sound utterly special. A company representative said: "An ice cream served in a cone with a Flake 99 is the UK's favourite ice cream. In the days of the monarchy in Italy the King had an elite guard consisting of 99 soldiers. Subsequently anything really special or first class was known as '99'. "When Cadbury launched its small Flake for ice creams in 1930, the UK ice cream industry was dominated by ex-pat Italians. So, to appeal to Italians we called our superb Flake a '99'." Fancy a deep dive into the history of 99 Flakes? Stick with us – we've got all the scoop you need. In an eye-opening chat, a legal boffin spilled the beans on 'exactly' how much dosh Mr Whippy vans rake in from dishing out classic 99 ice creams. And for those with a sweet tooth, brace yourselves – the revelation of the full sugar content in these chocolate delights has left many reeling. It's enough to make you ponder before you polish off a few too many in one sitting! The law expert, who goes by @ matthewfresco online, took to TikTok to break down the costs of the seasonal snack, as he said: "How much does Mr Whippy make when you buy an ice cream, it's £1.19. This vanilla flavoured soft serve ice cream with a chocolate flake served in a cone cost me £2.50." He then pointed out the alleged individual costs involved in making a single ice cream, as he continued: "The cone costs 4p, the half-sized Cadbury's chocolate flake costs 10p. Mr Whippy is the trade name of the soft mix ice cream made by Wall's, it's made from condensed milk, double cream and vanilla, which costs just 2p. "The soft serve machine freezes the mix and injects air. Soft serve is soft, creamy, slow to melt and not mad cold. Half your ice cream is fresh air, that's free, but the machine costs you 3p. To power the machine you've got to run the engine all day, that fuel costs you 53p. That diesel van costs you 9p." That's not all, as Mat added the other costs involved: "Trading license is 1p. Scoops, tubs, spoons are 1p. Insurance is 2p and wages are another 2p." He pointed out that ice cream cones are zero-rated VAT as they are classed as a biscuit, but not when "it's covered in chocolate". Mat said: "VAT at 20 per cent making it 42p. Mr Whippy makes £1.19 when you buy a 99. "A good van like this one can sell 600 ice creams on a sunny day, making £44,000 a year. There's 5,103 ice cream vans in the UK, churning over a cool £220,000,000 a year." The ice cream expert hailed the profit-making business as "fantastic", adding: "There's no cooking, no packaging, no waste, no advertising costs - just play the chimes. We love that music but local councils don't."

It will be held at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California with NFL star Travis's team, Kansas City Chiefs, tipped to contest it. During the New Heights podcast, Taylor referred to the number 47 — and eagle-eyed fans noted that her 47th show during The Eras Tour was at the Levi's Stadium. Taylor thanked Travis and his brother, fellow American football star Jason Kelce, for 'screaming for 47 seconds' — and joked she performed in '47,000 countries' on her recent global concert tour. Fans also believe Taylor's choice to announce her new album on a podcast dedicated largely to American football is a further pointer to her performing at the big game. Taylor and Travis, who confirmed they were dating in 2023, sealed their romance with a kiss at the 2024 Super Bowl, following the Chiefs' win that year. Elsewhere a glass microphone sits on a shelf near a figurine of Travis in his Kansas City Chiefs kit. But perhaps the most telling clue is that Taylor was rumoured to have turned down offers to perform at the Super Bowl in order to focus on re-recording her first six albums. But on May 30, she announced she had won the battle to obtain the master recordings of them in a deal with Shamrock Capital. In a letter on her website she wrote: 'All of the music I've ever made . . . now belongs . . . to me.' Patrick Kielty cracks jokes as he breaks his silence following shock split from Cat Deeley and moving into 'divorce' house as he returns to his radio show for the first time
Patrick Kietly has broken his silence as he returned to his BBC Radio 5 Live show on for the first time Saturday since his shock split from Cat Deeley. The Irish comedian, 54, and This Morning host, 48, who share sons Milo, seven, and James, five, revealed last month that they had taken the decision to end their 12 year marriage, stressing that 'no other party' was involved. In a jovial mood upon his return to the airwaves Patrick joked about being overlooked for the role of Match of the Day host, following Mark Chapman, Gabby Logan and Kelly Cates replacing Gary Lineker. He laughed: 'It's lovely to be back. We are coming to you from sunny Belfast and we've got Michael Andrew looking after things here. We've got Sammy and Craig looking after things in London'. 'It takes a village folks to make this show sound so average, but it is not just me who is back, Oh no, what is this? It is a little welcome back letter from the head of the BBC'. As the iconic Match of the Day theme played, Patrick read: 'Dear Mr Kielty, thank you so much for your application to be a host on Match of the Day. Unfortunately every other host employed by the BBC is currently working hosting on this show therefore we don't need your services. Don't call us, we will call you, Tim Davie '. Before quipping: 'Thanks for that Tim, I shouldn't have read that out on air!'. The comic, who previously admitted not feeling like an equal partner during the relationship, is lying low in his stylish country home in the village of Dundrum, County Down where family and friends have been rallying around him. Patrick was pictured last week on a trip to the shops near the former couple's home in London buying a bottle of red wine. It was the first time he had been pictured since their split was confirmed. His family are still seething with Cat over her failure to attend his beloved mother's funeral – and say they knew at that moment their marriage was over for good. Her 'no show' back in March has left deep emotional scars within the Kielty family who say it confirmed for them that there was little chance of a reconciliation between the two. Clearly still upset at the anger and embarrassment it caused the family, one relative told the Daily Mail this week: 'Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something as a momentous as his mother's funeral, you would make up even temporarily and just put your 'best face' on as we say in Northern Ireland. 'Cat obviously knew how close Patrick was to Mary and she should have come to be by his side, a hand on his shoulder as he buried his mother. The fact that she stayed in London and presented This Morning on the day, it's not been forgotten.' The source added: 'In a very tight knit community in Northern Ireland, people always turn out. It's the done thing. His family remain very upset by this. They still can't believe it. It was the point when we all realised that that marriage had ended.' His family are still seething with Cat over her failure to attend his beloved mother's funeral – and say they knew at that moment their marriage was over for good Patrick looked bereft as he carried Mary's coffin through his home village, where he was joined by close family and friends at the Church of the Sacred Heart. A spokesperson for Cat told the Daily Mail at the time: 'Cat remained at home to be there for her two young children before and after school on this very sad day.' Patrick and his family are well known and hugely respected within the Dundrum community and virtually the whole village of 1500 people turned up to pay their respects at Mary's funeral. It was followed by a wake with the whole ceremony surrounding her death at the age of 88 holding huge significance in Irish Catholic traditions. One source said: 'The wake and all these other things are of huge importance. The house was full non-stop but her not being there was obviously a topic of conversation and caused a huge amount of embarrassment. 'The family and their friends felt let down. We felt that Cat could have just turned up to hold his hand or put an arm around his shoulder at the graveside, regardless of the problems they might have been having. For something like this, you would put on a show of unity, it's not too much to ask.' A close friend of Patrick's who grew up with him in Dundrum said: 'It's not just the family, it's the whole community who haven't forgotten. We were all there but not his wife. 'Whatever is going on in your marriage, at the very least you need to do the right thing and show up to stand beside your husband in his hour of need. 'The fact that she (Cat) didn't made it obvious that the marriage was over. You can't get back together after something like that.' Meanwhile Cat was spotted for the first time since the split, enjoying dinner with a male friend in Spain. In pictures obtained exclusively by The Daily Mail, the This Morning host was snapped out at a restaurant in Sitges, frequently visited by celebrities, minus her wedding ring. According to fellow diners at the picturesque eatery called Chiringuito de Garraf, the presenter appeared 'downcast' while wearing a halter neck dress and golden sandals, as she tucked into her meal, believed to be lobster. The mystery man joining her for dinner was hairdresser friend Ben Skervin, who documented his trip to Spain on his Instagram page which Cat commented on, writing: 'I love you'. The Londoner has previously featured on snaps alongside Cat on social media and describes his himself as a 'freelance celebrity and fashion hairdresser' and according to his personal website, previously worked with the Spice Girls, Keira Knightly, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Hugh Jackman, photographers including Karl Lagerfeld and top fashion magazines American Vogue and Vanity Fair among others. The restaurant snaps were taken on August 2, just days after Cat and Patrick announced their separation after 12 years of marriage. A fellow diner told The Daily Mail: 'Cat looked a bid down and a touch crestfallen, not her usual spritely self, which is understandable given her marriage split. 'Her accent was recognisable to a number of Brits at the restaurant, which is popular with celebrities, and she had interacted with a few British kids also dining there. 'She clearly needed to be around her nearest and dearest during such a difficult time.'
