His team, Intermarche–Wanty, on Friday said Faure-Prost has started recovering at home after undergoing surgery. The incident occurred on Tuesday, a day before La Fleche Wallonne.
Faure-Prost finished 10th overall in the Tour of Oman last year after having switched to Intermarche–Wanty from Wanty–Nippo–ReUz.
"I collided with a vehicle and suffered a head injury with loss of memory, convulsions, 2 fractures in my left hand and a fractured left collarbone, which required stitches," Faure-Prost posted on Instagram on Friday.
"I came home after 2 days in hospital and 1 successful hand operation!
"Take care on the road, see you soon!"
La Fleche Wallonne, a one-day race, started in the Belgian city of Ciney and concluded in Huy on April 23. It was won by UAE Team Emirates XRG's Slovenian rider, Tadej Pogacar.

Cricket-Root plans to use his experience to end Ashes win drought in Australia
FILE PHOTO: England's Joe Root celebrates after reaching his century in the fifth test against India at the Oval, London, in August 2025. Action Images via Reuters/Paul Childs/File Photo (Reuters) -England batter Joe Root said his experience of 158 tests makes him better equipped than ever to end a victory drought in Australia, as he ramps up preparations for the upcoming Ashes series. Root, who moved to second on the all-time test run-scorer charts during England's five-match series against India, which was drawn 2-2 earlier this month, has accumulated 13,543 runs in tests, trailing only India great Sachin Tendulkar (15,921). Despite his prolific record, the 34-year-old Root has yet to win a test or score a test century in Australia, where he averages 35.68 from 27 innings with nine half-centuries. "Having played in Australia a couple of times before, now going with 150-odd test caps under my belt, I feel I couldn't be more ready for it," Root told British media on Thursday. "The thing that stands out for me is I probably wanted it (a century) way too much the last couple of times. It took me away from what was important." Australia won both the 2017-18 series and following home series in 2021-22 4-0 before drawing 2-2 in England in 2023 to retain the urn. England last triumphed in Australia in 2010-11, which is also the last time the tourists won a test Down Under. "There were a lot of distractions," Root said of the last two Ashes series in Australia. "I was captain, COVID (in 2021-22), there was the (Ben) Stokes incident the time before that (when Stokes was ruled out of the 2017-18 tour after an incident at a Bristol nightclub), the Jonny (Bairstow) headbutt incident as well. "This time I want to just go and enjoy the tour for what it is. It is a beautiful country it is a great place to go and play cricket. I know if I put my best performances in then everything else will look after itself." This year's Ashes begins in Perth on November 21 before a day-night match in Brisbane, the third test in Adelaide and the traditional Melbourne and Sydney tests in December and January. Venus Williams receives US Open wildcard
NEW YORK: Two-time U.S. Open singles champion Venus Williams has received a wildcard entry into this year's tournament, organisers said on Wednesday, as the 45-year-old American continues her age-defying return to the court. Williams became the oldest player to win a WTA singles match since 2004 when she beat Peyton Stearns at last month's Washington Open after a 16-month absence from competitive tennis. She last played in the U.S. Open singles main draw in 2023, losing in the first round to Belgian Greet Minnen. The seven-time Grand Slam winner is also playing in the tournament's new-look mixed doubles tournament with compatriot Reilly Opelka. Other women's singles wildcards included France's Caroline Garcia, in what will likely be the 2022 semi-finalist's last appearance at Flushing Meadows. The 2022 WTA Finals winner announced plans to retire from the sport earlier this year.

Top Japanese fighter retires to support comatose boxer brother
TOKYO: A Japanese boxer is retiring to support his brother who has been in a coma since a bout in May, as the sport in the country reels from the deaths of two fighters. Former WBC strawweight champion Yudai Shigeoka's brother Ginjiro collapsed after a fight in Osaka three months ago and underwent emergency brain surgery. The 25-year-old remains in a coma but is no longer in a life-threatening condition, the Japan Boxing Commission says. Ginjiro, a former IBF champion at the same weight who has a professional win-loss record of 11-2, was recently transferred to another hospital. "I encourage him every day, telling him not to give up and to do his best, so that the flame in his heart does not go out," Yudai, 28, said in an Instagram post on Wednesday. "I believe it is my role as his older brother to enrich his life from now on." "Plans are progressing steadily. That is why I have decided to retire. I have no regrets. The real challenge begins from here on out," added Yudai, who has a 9-2 record. Japanese boxing is under the spotlight after super featherweight Shigetoshi Kotari and lightweight Hiromasa Urakawa, both 28, died days after injuries they sustained in separate bouts in Tokyo on Aug 2. Japanese boxing officials held an emergency meeting this week and vowed to introduce new safety rules. New measures to be implemented as soon as possible include urine tests for measuring dehydration and stricter rules on boxers' rapid weight loss, said Tsuyoshi Yasukochi, secretary-general of the JBC. Ambulances will also be required on site, even for non-world championship bouts, something which is common practice in some other countries. - AFP
