Dubai Taxi Company, Dubai Airports sign exclusive 5-year partnership
Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has signed a five-year strategic partnership with Dubai Airports, to be the exclusive provider of taxi services at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central - Al Maktoum International (DWC).
The partnership is a testament to the long-standing relationship between DTC and Dubai Airports to service the growing influx of passengers and visitors at Dubai Airports, which welcomed 93 million guests across both airports in 2024, resulting in 6 million limousine and taxi trips in 2024.
Taxi and limousine annual trips from the airports are expected to reach over 8 million by 2029, with revenues projected to reach AED2.5 billion over the five-year period.
DTC's long-standing partnership with Dubai Airports began in 1997 when the company provided taxi services at the airport with a modest fleet of just 100 taxis. Subsequently, DTC has grown into a leading mobility provider, and the number one taxi operator, by market share, in Dubai. Today, DTC operates a state-of-the-art airport fleet of approximately 900 taxis, including 700 dedicated airport taxis, in addition to specialised pink taxis catering to families, women, and children, as well as accessible vehicles designed to serve People of Determination. The company's fleet also features around 500 premium limousines, providing premium transportation services.
Mansoor Alfalasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports signed the agreement in the presence of senior officials.
Smart Transportation Services
As part of its commitment to innovation and adherence to the highest international standards, the taxi and limousine services at Dubai Airports are equipped with smart dispatch systems and advanced instant booking technologies accessible through user friendly apps.
These systems allow passengers to easily and quickly book taxis and provide cashless payment options. The vehicles are monitored by DTC's control centre, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely transportation for all customers.
Alfalasi said: 'The agreement demonstrates the strength of our relationship with Dubai Airports, which began in 1997. As the exclusive provider of taxi services at Dubai's airports for more than two decades, we are committed to showcasing Dubai at its best to all passengers.
'With a team of well-trained drivers backed by sophisticated technology, DTC is committed to enhancing its operational capacity to align with the rapid growth and development at Dubai Airports, ensuring the continued delivery of world-class transportation services.', he added.
In 2024, DTC doubled its dedicated taxi fleet at Dubai Airports. This expansion aimed to support airport transportation services and boost trip numbers by 30%, helping reduce waiting times and improve service speed, while reducing the reliance on having to divert our regular city fleet towards the airport, the company said.

Dubai Airports to launch final phase of lighting retrofit project
Dubai Airports has signed an agreement with Etihad Energy Services Company (Etihad Esco) to launch the final phase of its airport-wide lighting retrofit project, a key milestone in its ongoing sustainability agenda and a major step towards energy-efficient operations at both of Dubai's airports. Etihad Esco is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa). This newly signed phase will see over 180,000 conventional lighting fixtures replaced with energy-saving alternatives across Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC), with Concourse A at DXB being the largest single area covered. Combined with the first phase completed earlier and covering 150,000 lighting units at DXB, the project will upgrade more than 330,000 lighting units in total, making it one of the most extensive airport lighting retrofit initiatives in the region, said the statement from Dubai Airports. The project is expected to cut annual energy consumption by 47 million kilowatt-hours (kWh), equivalent to powering over 4,300 homes for an entire year, a significant result that highlights the real-world impact of operational sustainability. The initiative will also deliver annual cost savings of more than AED20 million, contributing to Dubai Airports' efforts to optimise efficiency while supporting Dubai's wider environmental targets. On the strategic deal, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa, said: "Aligned with the UAE's commitment to climate change resilience and sustainable growth, we are dedicated to supporting Dubai's journey towards a green economy." "This aligns with the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. Delta Coatings completes roof insulation work at Rashid Centre

Dubai Airports makes elaborate arrangements for Hajj pilgrims
Dubai Airports has launched an extensive operational plan at Dubai International (DXB) to facilitate the smooth departure and return of pilgrims participating in Hajj 2025. This initiative underscores the airport's commitment to providing a seamless and supportive airport experience during one of the busiest periods of the year. This year, approximately 3,100 pilgrims are set to depart from DXB on 28 dedicated flights operated by Emirates, flydubai, Saudia, and flynas. The official delegation from the Government of Dubai will commence their journey on the first official Hajj flight from Terminal 3 on June 1. To ensure a streamlined experience, Dubai Airports, in collaboration with the oneDXB community, including Dubai Police, General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai (GDRFA), Dubai Customs, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, dnata, and airline partners, has implemented the following measures: *Dedicated check-in counters across Terminals 1, 2, and 3. *Prayer rooms and changing facilities in all terminals for Ihram preparation. *Multilingual guest experience ambassadors and Hajj committee support desks. *Designated baggage carousels for the secure handling of Zamzam water. Dubai Airports has urged pilgrims to arrive at the airport at least four hours prior to departure and to carry all required travel documents, including passport, Emirates ID, Hajj permit and vaccination certificate. "These journeys are personal, profound, and often once in a lifetime," remarked Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports. "Through the efforts of our people and the oneDXB community, we want to ensure every pilgrim departs with confidence and returns with ease," he stated. The pilgrims are expected to return between June 9 and 12. Preparations are in place to provide a warm welcome, coordinated baggage support, and a small token of appreciation upon arrival. The Hajj season coincides with the summer travel peak and the Eid Al Adha holiday, during which DXB anticipates a significant increase in guest volumes, stated Al Shamsi.
