A major change is coming to Costco in the coming days and it has a number of workers at the warehouse on edge. If you recall, earlier this month it was revealed that Costco would begin opening core location warehouses at 9 a.m. for executive members. It was also announced that all U.S. warehouses will stay open until 7 p.m. for all members on Saturdays. But in a Reddit post shared this week, Costco workers are lashing out at the latest change, specifically the 9 a.m. opening time."Yall ready for 9am openings?" the original poster asked. "Mainly for the employees. How's your warehouse preparing for 9am openings every day. I hear it's starting June 30th. We struggle to get open on 945, I can imagine it's going to be fun every morning in merchandising. I'm assuming there will be no adjustments to schedules or depot times. Just get it done in less time."
Their question was met with nearly 400 comments from workers eager to sound off on the change. One person admitted that the adjustment in hours has the potential to make things "infinitely worse" for them.
"I'm in the meat department at Costco. It sucks. I already get there at 5am. Now it will be 4am... What sucks is we also will now open an hour later- 2 hours may not sound like a lot be we already struggle to get certain parts of the day covered and certain things done between opening an night crew. This 2 hour change will make it infinitely worse," they wrote.
Plenty of other workers are also struggling to see how the change in hours will benefit them.
"As an employee who drives the cooler 4 am to 10 every morning, and front end after, and has a second job to make ends meet and only sleeps 4-5 hours a night, no. No im not," read one comment on Reddit.
"I hate it. I work in optical and there is no reason we have to be there because nothing is gunna happen. It's for executive members only. So now we are gunna have angry non-executive members too," another user chimed in.

Royal Caribbean Drops Fan-Favorite Port From Cruise Sailings

Royal Caribbean Drops Fan-Favorite Port From Cruise Sailings originally appeared on Parade. Certain areas seem like they're fated to be the optimal cruise destination, allowing travelers to experience exotic settings, rich culture, sweeping natural scenery and adventurous excursions beyond their wildest imaginations. In this sense, Juneau, Alaska is the perfect destination for a memorable cruise vacation. Nestled along the shores of the Pacific Ocean, the city offers unrivaled views of the nearby mountains and neighboring wilderness, making it an ideal port for Royal Caribbean's seafaring ships to stop at for the day. Unfortunately, due to mounting tensions between the city of Juneau and the popular cruise company, Royal Caribbean has decided to remove the destination from several upcoming cruises, impacting thousands of travelers' vacation itineraries. The main factor affecting Royal Caribbean's operations with Juneau has mostly owed to the city's escalating docking fees for the cruising giant, as reported by Travel and Tour World. Additionally, Juneau's local government has come into direct confrontation with Royal Caribbean over a new cruise terminal slated for construction on Douglas Island. As these issues continued unfold, Royal Caribbean has decided to drop several planned stops at Juneau from Ovation of the Seas' schedule. Though the company did not directly reference the recent price hike in their ships' docking fees, Royal Caribbean pointed to issues with port availability as the main reason for the unexpected change. To make up for Juneau's removal from the Ovation of the Seas' itinerary, Royal Caribbean has replaced the city with stops at Sitka, Ketchikan and Icy Strait Point. All three stops offer incredible views of the native Alaskan wilderness, as well as various pulse-pounding activities like ziplining or local fishing opportunities. As of yet, it's currently unknown whether Royal Caribbean might announce further cancellations for Juneau, the cruise port serving as a beloved destination for many of the company's most popular Alaska-bound ships. The Unusual Reason One Snack Giant Is Taking Legal Action Against This Fan-Favorite Grocery Chain

The Unusual Reason One Snack Giant Is Taking Legal Action Against This Fan-Favorite Grocery Chain originally appeared on Parade. The tale of a corporate giant going after a smaller rival is nothing new—and frankly, it's a narrative that's wearing thin. This time around, it's snack giant Mondelez that's suing the beloved grocery chain Aldi, alleging that the grocer's store-brand snack packaging 'blatantly copies' its own. While Mondelez, the extremely successful maker of Oreo, Triscuit and Chips Ahoy, might seem unlikely to object to similar products on the market, the company is taking a hard stance. The lawsuit filed May 27 claims Aldi's cookie and cracker packaging is 'likely to deceive and confuse' customers, raising broader questions about the boundaries of fair competition in grocery retail. 😋😋SIGN UP to get delicious recipes, handy kitchen hacks & more in our daily Pop Kitchen newsletter🍳🍔 At the moment, Aldi has not responded to inquiries from multiple sources regarding the lawsuit. What we do know is that the popular discount supermarket primarily sells its own versions of well-known name-brand products at significantly lower prices. The lawsuit claims that Aldi's peanut butter creme-filled cookies, chocolate chip cookies and Thin Wheat crackers have packaging similar to Nutter Butter, Chips Ahoy and Wheat Thins—among other similarities. Mondelez previously contacted Aldi about alleged 'copycat' packaging designs for several products, including Oreo cookies, Teddy Grahams, Belvita biscuits, Triscuit crackers and Tate's Bake Shop cookies. In response, Aldi reportedly 'discontinued' and 'changed certain of these infringing products,' according to Mondelez's statement.'I can go to the store and reasonably assume that I recognize the name, and that's who I'm buying from,' Trademark lawyer Josh Gerben told reporters. Some customers 'think that they might be buying something from the Oreo brand or Wheat Thins, but they're actually getting a substitute.'Per the lawsuit, Mondelez is seeking monetary damages as well as a court order to prevent Aldi from selling similar products. This isn't the first time Aldi has faced legal challenges either. Last December, the grocer found itself in Australian federal court over a copyright infringement dispute involving children's snacks. With over 2,400 locations across the United States and more than 225 additional stores planned for 2025, it's hard to imagine Aldi wouldn't want to nip this issue in the bud and adjust its strategy moving forward. While many shoppers appreciate the value of Aldi-branded products over big-name brands, no one wants to see the beloved discount retailer get caught up in unnecessary legal Unusual Reason One Snack Giant Is Taking Legal Action Against This Fan-Favorite Grocery Chain first appeared on Parade on Jun 12, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 12, 2025, where it first appeared.
