Eritrea: Henok Mulubrhan Winner of Magnificent Qinghai 2025
In the race covering 1,323.7 km, Henok finished first in the 6th stage (232.7 km), second in the 5th stage, and third in the 7th stage. Henok also secured third place in the King of the Mountain classification.
In the competition, which featured 120 cyclists from 21 clubs, Eritrean professional cyclists Merhawi Kudus, Natnael Berhane, Even Yemane, Metkel Eyob, and Petros Mengis also participated, representing their respective clubs.
It is to be recalled that at the 23rd edition of the Magnificent Qinghai competition last year, Henok was the winner of the Green Jersey.

Eritrea: Official Reception for Olympian Athlete Biniam Girmay
An official reception was organized for Olympian athlete Biniam Girmay upon his return home after participating in the 2025 Tour de France. The ceremony was held yesterday, 7 August, at the National Confederation of Eritrean Workers Hall. Speaking at the event, Ambassador Zemede Tekle, Commissioner of Culture and Sports, congratulated Biniam for his outstanding performance at the Tour de France and said that he is following in the footsteps of professional athletes such as Daniel Teklehaimanot and Merhawi Kudus in shining at international cycling competitions. Ambassador Zemede also expressed his expectation that young cyclists will continue the legacy and place their country at the center stage. He further announced that, as a result of the significant influence Biniam has created at both African and global levels—and in recognition of his potential to promote the country's development programs internationally and positively inspire youth—the United Nations Development Programme has appointed him as its Honorary Ambassador in Eritrea. Olympian athlete Biniam Girmay, for his part, expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to him, saying it will strengthen his dedication to achieving even better performances on the international stage. The President of Seychelles, Mr Wavel Ramkalawan on Friday morning welcomed to State House Seychellois swimming sensation Ms. Angelina Smythe, following her outstanding performance during the 13th Jeux de la Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l'Océan Indien (CJSOI) being held in Seychelles. The 16-year-old Seychellois athlete delivered an exceptional performance in the pool, clinching an impressive tally of 5 Gold, 4 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals, making her the top medalist for the Seychelles' swimming team with a total of 11 medals. President Ramkalawan extended his heartfelt congratulations to Ms. Smythe, commending her dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence. 'Angelina, your remarkable achievements have brought immense pride to Seychelles. You have shown that with determination and hard work, our young athletes can shine brightly on the international stage,' the President said.
