Woman arrested after trying to drive through roads closed for Pikes Peek race in Montgomery County, police say
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. () — Montgomery County police arrested a woman who was trying to drive through a road that was closed for the Pikes Peek race on Sunday.
The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said in a news release that around 7:45 a.m., officers were called to the area of Sommerville Drive and Redland Road for a 'Jeep Wrangler driving toward a crowd of runners' between Metro Access Road and Crabbs Branch Road.

MCPD said that the driver, Karen Christine Gangloff of Derwood, drove through traffic cones after an officer directed her to turn right onto Frederick Road. She then drove into a nearby 7-Eleven before heading north on Frederick Road 'at a high rate of speed.'
An officer positioned himself in front of the Jeep and signaled for Gangloff to stop. When Gangloff kept driving, the officer moved out of the way for his safety. Gangloff then turned right onto Metro Access Road, which was also closed, and subsequently turned left onto Redland Road, heading toward the runners.

Officers continued the pursuit along Redland Road, where an officer braked in front of her in an attempt to get Gangloff to stop. She rear-ended the officer's cruiser and came to a stop but refused to leave the car. MCPD said that officers broke the driver's side window to get her out of the car.
During a search of the vehicle, officers reported finding ammunition but no firearm.
Nobody was injured during this incident.
Gangloff is facing charges of first-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was held without bond.

PHOENIX, Arizona (ABC4) — Lori Vallow Daybell is back in court, charged with conspiring to commit the attempted murder of her former nephew-in-law, Brandon Boudreaux. Daybell is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder of Brandon Boudreaux, the ex-husband of her niece, Melani. Boudreaux alleges he was shot at while returning home on Oct. 2, 2019. Daybell is representing herself in the trial, as she did in her Arizona trial on conspiring to murder her estranged husband, Charles Vallow, where she was found guilty. Daybell was also previously sentenced for murder and conspiracy to murder her children, Joshua 'JJ' Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ashlyn Ryan, 16. She was sentenced to prison and is currently serving five life sentences for the crimes. Police arrived and he talked with officers, realizing that someone had tried to kill him. Lori Vallow Daybell found guilty of conspiracy to murder husband Boudreaux also asserted before the jury that Daybell played a part in his divorce, claiming she influenced his ex-wife, Melani Pawlowski. The second day of Daybell's trial in Arizona was held on Friday, as witnesses and evidence were presented before the jury. Daybell was asked to leave the room after an argument with the judge, in which she had raised her voice in discussing whether her 'good character' could later be presented before the court. As the day progresses, evidence and witness testimony continue to be presented before the jury, including forensic evidence relating to the gunshot residue, provided by the detective involved in the case. 5 teens arrested in crash with multiple stolen vehicles
The Brief Five teens, ages 13 to 15, were arrested after fleeing from a stolen vehicle in Montgomery County on Tuesday evening. Police recovered four stolen cars, including a Kia and three Hyundais, at the scene of a crash and subsequent traffic stop. All teens were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and later released to their guardians. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. - A group of five teens were arrested and four stolen vehicles recovered after a crash in Montgomery County Tuesday evening. What we know On Tuesday around 7:30 p.m., Montgomey County police responded to the intersection of Heathfield Drive and Parkland Drive after reports of a crash. Officers found three cars, empty and idling. The cars, one Kia and two Hyundais, were determined to be stolen. Police at the scene saw a dark colored Kia speed away with multiple people inside. The Kia stopped at Weller Road, where five teens got out of the car. The Kia was also determined to have been stolen. The five teens – one 13-year-old, three 14-year-olds and a 15-year-old, were taken into custody and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. They were released to their guardians.
