War 2 Final Day 1 Worldwide Advance: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR's movie puts up ordinary Rs 29 crore in pre-sales; Relies on word of mouth

War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, and starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani among others, has ended its global advance bookings on a very ordinary note for the opening day. The day 1 global advances for the movie are Rs 29 crore, with Rs 18 crore from India and Rs 11 crore from overseas. Coolie on the other hand has Rs 110 crore of advance for the opening day, meaning that the advances of War 2 for the opening day are just around a quarter of Coolie. War 2 Puts Up Day 1 Global Advances Of Rs 29 Crore; Relies On Word Of Mouth War 2 's weekend advances are also nothing spectacular. They are good in percentage terms compared to Coolie, but in real value, they are lower. War 2 relies heavily on positive word of mouth to sail through. When a film as big as War 2 has to rely on word of mouth, it is never good news. One would hope that the content of the movie lands, so that it can have a leggie run. War 2 Gears Up For A Rs 80 Crore Global Day 1 The day 1 Hindi figure looks to be in the Rs 27-28 crore net range. The Telugu version should be adding another Rs 22 crore net or so. A day 1 of Rs 50 crore net (Rs 60 crore gross) seems like the best case scenario for War 2. The international day 1 opening of War 2 is expected to be USD 2.3-2.5 million dollars (Rs 20 - 22 crore). This suggests a day 1 global opening of Rs 80 crore gross or so. The day 2 should certainly be bigger because of Independence Day. One would hope that the weekend of War 2 is close to Rs 350 crore, and then it sustains well to end up with a final number in the tune of Rs 600 crore worldwide, if not more. Sreeleela sets sights on pan-India stardom

Sreeleela is on a roll. Having made a name for herself in South Indian cinema, she is now eyeing pan-India stardom. The actress began her career with the Kannada film Kiss. She then went on to star in hits like By Two Love (Kannada), and Dhamaka, Guntur Kaaram, and the National Award-winning Bhagavanth Kesari (Telugu). Now, she has another Telugu film in the pipeline; she's also stepping into Tamil and Hindi cinema, with projects that include a Bollywood film alongside Kartik Aaryan and her Tamil debut, Parasakthi, opposite Sivakarthikeyan. These roles represent exciting new chapters for the actress, especially the latter, where she says audiences will 'get to see a new side of me.' Excerpts: 'AS AN ARTISTE, I LIKE CHANGING GEARS; IT KEEPS ME ON MY TOES' Reflecting on the nuances of working across different film industries, Sreeleela says, 'Every language has its own streak, its own flair. What matters most is understanding what the film demands and what the audience expects. Commercial cinema has its own frequency; Hindi cinema is obviously very different from what I've done. But I like changing gears like that. It keeps me on my toes.' 'ACTING TO ME, IS LIVING THE CHARACTER' She emphasises the importance of authenticity in her acting, and says, 'I feel like the moment we start acting instead of living the character, it's not authentic anymore. Especially in Hindi cinema, the scripts I've heard are a little more real, a little more my age, very close to my character. In the past, I've played many characters that weren't completely like me — I tapped into different roles. But these last couple of films feel like me, like a plain me, like how I would really react. I'm excited to bring my authentic self to every screen no matter what language.' 'I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING ROLES THAT FEEL GENUINE' Talking about the kinds of stories that inspire her both on and off screen, Sreeleela says, 'I've always been a sucker for love stories and romcoms. Now I'm in my early 20s, and that's the vibe I'm in. Core emotions like love stay the same; what changes is how they're expressed in cinema. I want to be part of stories that are true to my age and feelings. Today, we are also seeing a rise in female-led films. I love seeing women tap into those strong, inspiring stories, and I hope to portray such roles myself. ' I love entertaining, and being able to do it on a wider canvas only makes me happier Sreeleela

'War 2' advance box office report: The Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR film earns Rs 16 crore gross in advance ticket sales, momentum picks as Telugu markets opens

'War 2' is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The Hrithik Roshan , Jr NTR , Kiara Advani film is also facing a tough competition from Rajikinanth's 'Coolie' which is already having a huge advance booking. While earlier, the advance sales for 'War 2' were not extra-ordinary, the film has picked momentum just as the openings in Telugu markets have opened. Ahead of the opening of bookings in the Telugu states, 'War 2' had already grossed around ₹10 crore (with block seats) for its Hindi version's first day. However, once sales began in the Telugu markets, momentum picked up sharply, with BookMyShow logging over 20,000 tickets sold per hour for the first time. This boost is expected to spill over into the Hindi belt as well just as the film releases. At present, Coolie is leading the advance booking race, having already hit an opening-day worldwide gross of ₹75 crore, of which ₹30 crore of which comes from India and this data was till Wednesday afternoon. According to Sacnilk, the film has made Rs 16 crore so far on Day 1 as the gross number and this is the figure from advance sales excluding the block bookings. However, with the block bookings, the advance day 1 number is Rs 28 crore as of now. However, according to Box Office India, Trade analysts caution, that these numbers don't yet point to an 'huge blockbuster type of weekend', the kind the industry hopes for with such big-budget spectacles. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New Container Houses Serbia (Prices May Surprise You) Container House | Search Ads Search Now Undo 'War 2' may look underwhelming when compared to some past juggernauts, but the ratio of advance sales to first-day collections has changed in recent years, making direct parallels tricky. Some previous 'big ones,' as the trade hints, even had 'advances which were tampered putting it in a nice way.' By contrast, War 2's advance numbers are twice that of recent big titles like 'Raid 2' and 'Housefull 5'. Regional performance of the film will also be a mixed bag. 'War 2' is expected to underperform in Maharashtra, Gujarat, East Punjab, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, just as Pathaan, Jawan, and Animal did, but it will need to make up for this shortfall in other territories, as those films managed to do. The Telugu-dubbed version could perform well thanks to JR NTR's presence, who is a massive star in the Nizam/Andhra belt. One already senses that as the fil has suddenly picked momentum, just as the Telugu markets have opened. Still, 'Coolie' will be a formidable rival, even outside its home Tamil market. Eventually, the content of both these movies and word of mouth will eventually decide the fate of both these movies while the weekend performance will be crucial for deciding among these.
