Julie Sweet education qualifications: How a liberal arts and Ivy League education shaped the Accenture CEO

Julie Sweet's story begins in Tustin, California, a suburban town where her sharp intellect and powerful voice quickly stood out. At Tustin High School, she wasn't just another student — she was a star in speech and debate, mastering the art of persuasion and building confidence that would later serve her in high-stakes boardrooms. An education that built a leader Julie pursued her undergraduate studies at Claremont McKenna College, a liberal arts school known for producing leaders in business and public affairs. There, she honed her critical thinking and leadership skills before setting her sights even higher. Determined to pursue law, she enrolled in Columbia Law School, one of the most prestigious legal institutions in the US. Her time at Columbia prepared her for a high-powered legal career — one that would eventually lead her into the corridors of corporate power. Breaking barriers in corporate law After law school, Sweet joined the elite firm Cravath, Swaine & Moore, a place known for its high standards and demanding environment. She spent 17 years there, working on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate finance. She wasn't just a standout attorney, she was a trailblazer. Sweet became only the ninth woman ever to make partner at Cravath, marking a major milestone in a firm not known for promoting women into senior roles. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Randusari: Unsold Sofas Prices May Surprise You (Prices May Surprise You) Sofas | Search Ads Search Now Undo A bold career pivot to Accenture In 2010, Sweet made a surprising career shift, from law to business. She joined Accenture as general counsel, bringing her legal expertise into a corporate setting. But it quickly became clear that she had more to offer than just legal advice. By 2015, she was promoted to CEO of Accenture North America, the company's largest and most critical market. Her strategic mind and leadership abilities earned her a seat at the global management table, where she played a key role in shaping the company's growth, especially in mergers and acquisitions. Making history at the helm of Accenture In September 2019, Julie Sweet became the CEO of Accenture, making her the first woman to hold the position in the company's history. At the time, she was one of just 27 women leading S&P 500 companies. Two years later, in 2021, she was appointed Chair of the Board, giving her even greater influence over the direction of the $200+ billion company. Under her leadership, Accenture made aggressive investments in AI, digital innovation, and gender parity in the workplace. A complex legacy of leadership Julie Sweet is widely recognised for championing diversity and inclusion, aiming to achieve a 50/50 gender split in Accenture's workforce by 2025. But in a surprise move in 2025, she led the company to pause its external diversity benchmarking efforts, signaling a shift in corporate strategy. In parallel, she has focused on preparing Accenture for the future of work — doubling the company's workforce in AI and data-related fields, and launching global innovation hubs to lead in generative AI. Boards, influence, and beyond Outside Accenture, Sweet holds influential positions across several organisations. She is a member of The Business Council, Business Roundtable, and Catalyst, and serves on boards such as the World Economic Forum and the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Julie Sweet's career, from debate stages to law firm boardrooms to leading a Fortune Global 500 giant, is a powerful reminder that leadership isn't linear. Her journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and bold ambition, offering a blueprint for professionals looking to break barriers and reinvent themselves in an ever-changing world. Jerry Jones just explained why Micah Parsons isn't signed and it's straight chaos

Jerry Jones Thought a Handshake Locked In Micah Parsons. (Credit-X) Just when Cowboys fans thought the Micah Parsons contract drama couldn't get messier, Jerry Jones opened his mouth and dropped a quote straight out of the 1980s. While speaking to NFL Network's Jane Slater, Jones explained why he was shocked that no deal had been finalized with Parsons. His reasoning? Because he thought they had a verbal understanding, the same way he claims he bought the Cowboys decades ago. Yep, this saga now includes trade demands, ghosted agents, and a billionaire owner reminiscing about handshake deals while his star defender remains unsigned. Welcome to the Jerry Jones Show: where loyalty is old-school and the contracts? Apparently optional. Jerry Jones believed the Cowboys had a deal with Micah Parsons based on a handshake-style agreement The drama dates back to March 2025. According to Jones, he and Parsons had a conversation that he believed established the framework of a new contract. He thought the hard part was done even though nothing was signed or officially submitted. Speaking to Slater, Jones shared the story of how he bought the Dallas Cowboys in 1989: 'I bought the Dallas Cowboys with a handshake. It took about 30 seconds. I gave the number, shook hands, the details we worked out later.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Learn 57+ Languages Easily with AI [Join] Talkpal AI Sign Up Undo He went on to say that back then, even a multi-million dollar decision came down to a coin flip. So, naturally, he assumed a similar approach with Parsons would move the deal forward. But obviously Parsons didn't view the conversation the same way. According to reports, when his agent followed up later, the Cowboys were stunned to learn that no formal deal had been agreed upon. The result? A complete breakdown in communication and a frustrated Parsons who's now reportedly requested a trade. To his credit, Jones did clarify that in modern NFL business, there's no skipping the paperwork: 'There's no question that in the case of a player contract, you have to have it in writing. All parties do.' The Micah Parsons trade buzz is getting louder and Jerry's comments aren't helping Let's not forget, this entire saga exploded after Parsons scrubbed all Cowboys references from his social media and reportedly requested a trade last week. The silence from his camp since then has been deafening, and Jerry's remarks while classic may only add fuel to the fire. As it stands, Dallas still hasn't spoken to Parsons' agent. Jones even admitted he's unsure if the star linebacker will be ready for Week 1. It's a strange standoff made even stranger by the fact that both sides apparently walked away from the same conversation with totally different interpretations. Unless Jones and the front office can get serious about putting numbers on paper, they risk losing more than a contract. They risk losing the locker room, the fanbase's trust and the future of their defense. RBI finalises co-lending framework starting Jan 2026

Mumbai: RBI has come out with final co-lending rules for banks and non-banks which allow dual lending with a single KYC. The final norms mandate blended lending rates, irrevocable funding commitments, and escrow-based cashflow distribution, while keeping first loss default guarantee. These, along with capital impacts and lower returns, could make co-lending less attractive for originators. A 15-day loan transfer deadline may also drive lenders toward simpler direct assignment deals, ICRA said. The framework will become effective Jan 1, 2026. Credit enhancement for bonds RBI's norms on non-fund credit have allowed banks, financial institutions and NBFCs to offer partial credit enhancement to make certain types of bonds safer for investors. This facility can be extended to bonds issued by registered entities-municipal corporations, companies or special-purpose vehicles-for funding any type of project by large, non-deposit-taking NBFCs with assets of Rs 1,000 crore or more, subject to specified conditions. Call rate as policy anchor An RBI panel has recommended keeping the weighted average call rate as the main monetary policy target. It suggested ending 14-day variable rate repo and reverse repo (VRR/VRRR) auctions as the main liquidity tool, replacing them with 7-day operations and flexible terms up to 14 days when needed. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 20 Signs That A Heart Attack Is Imminent Learn It Wise Undo The RBI should usually give at least a day's notice for such actions, but can act the same day in special cases. Variable rate auctions will continue for all repo and reverse repo operations, including longer tenors. Existing liquidity management tools are considered sufficient, and the daily minimum CRR requirement will stay at 90% of the set level.
