Legoland UK is the biggest in the world – and it's getting a grand new look
THE world's biggest Legoland park is in the UK - and its about to look much better.
Legoland Windsor first opened in 1996 and was the most-visited theme park in the UK pre-Covid.

Despite a number of new attractions opening at the park, the main entrance has remained relatively unchanged.
However, new images have revealed a grand new makeover to replace the "dated" area.
The plans show two new structures on either side of the Legoland sign, looking like giant Lego bricks.
Lego characters such as knights and ninjas are also on the towers.
The new look will "will complement the existing attractions within the resort".
It is also part of a new upgrade to the entire entrance area, being dubbed "The Beginning".
This includes a new Brick Street Cafe, upgraded bag search areas and ticket areas and improved crossing.
The plans were given the go-ahead last November, although a confirmed opening date of the new area is yet to be confirmed.
In the mean time, the theme park has 55 attractions to explore.
The park's Miniland revealed its £1.2million makeover earlier this year.
Zaandam: The Lego-Like Wonderland of The Netherlands
Ahead of it's 30th anniversary next year, the revamp of Miniland included new buildings such as The Cheese Grater, The Gherkin and Canary Wharf buildings.
They also launched the first ever Lego music festival earlier this year with live gigs and 'sushi' bars.
We sent someone down to try it out - here's what it was like.
And last year saw the opening of their new 130-lodge new Woodland Village, as well as the new double-track coaster ride Minifigure Speedway.
Despite 10 other Legoland theme parks opening around the world, Legoland Windsor remains the biggest.
There is Legoland Dubai, which has 40 rides and even a nearby waterpark.
Other global Legoland parks include ones in Korea, Japan and New York.
Europe's only Legoland waterpark is found Italy's Gardaland, which has reopened for the season.
And a new Legoland theme park is set to open in Belgium.

Prince Louis gave the crowds what they wanted at Trooping the Colour, waving so enthusiastically from the Buckingham Palace balcony that his elder brother had to remind him to stop. Prince Charlotte, 10, was seen in conversation with her mother throughout the day, wearing a horseshoe brooch given to her by the late Queen Elizabeth II and dressed to coordinate with the Princess of Wales in turquoise. Prince George, now only a few inches shorter than his mother, and Prince Louis wore matching red ties. Their father, the Prince of Wales, rode in the parade in a bearskin hat with a beard on show, while the three children travelled by carriage to and from Horse Guards Parade before watching the long ceremony from the windows of the former office of the Duke of Wellington, under the eye of their long-serving nanny Maria. The Duchess of Edinburgh was seen entertaining Prince Louis, whose two front teeth are growing in after he was seen with a gap at VE Day, by pointing out elements of the ceremony. During the VE Day celebrations earlier this year, th e young prince appeared to playfully imitate George as the siblings watched the military procession from the Queen Victoria Memorial, copying the way his brother flicked his hair. He similarly stole the show at last year's Trooping the Colour ceremony, dancing during the quick march of the Scots Guards to Highland Laddie. During the 2023 Trooping the Colour parade, Louis, then five, held his nose as his carriage passed some horse manure, and in 2022, he covered his ears with his hands and looked to be screaming during the noisy flypast for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Netflix fans have been gripped by a Downton Abbey star's horror movie, hailing it as 'an all-time favourite' with extreme gore and 'proper mystery'. Apostle, released in 2018, sees Dan Stevens - best known as Matthew Crawley in the iconic ITV period drama - looking rather different. The horror film, set in the early 1900s, has Dan play a man trying to rescue his sister from a remote Welsh island, where she is being held for ransom by a religious cult. It was written and directed by Welshman Gareth Evans, well known for co-creating 2020 British action series Gangs of London, starring Paapa Essiedu and Peaky Blinders ' Joe Cole among others. The Netflix original movie has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 79 per cent - and fans have now rediscovered it, taking to the review site to express their praise. 'Not good for "sensitive" souls as it comes with plenty of blood but not overdone in my opinion. Well done cinematography.' Another commented: 'As a huge fan of quality horror films, Apostle stands out. 'A slow burn of anxiety and dread, it makes the most out of its settings and concepts. It could have seemed slow if not for the proper use of mystery. 'It doesn't shy away from gore, but the violence is by no means senseless here. 'Apostle is by no means perfect. However, it's among one of the all-time favourites of the genre.' Similarly, one person said: 'Definitely one of the best horror movies I have seen.' Someone else was just as keen on it: 'It's a violent, imaginative gothic tale with plenty to think about, thanks to the brainpower of Gareth Evans. Fans have now rediscovered film, taking to review site Rotten Tomatoes to express their praise 'The cast are superb as is the cinematography. It's one I had to rewatch to truly appreciate its depth and beauty as a film. I'm glad I did.' Alongside Dan as protagonist Thomas Richardson, the cast boasts some other starry names too. Michael Sheen plays the cult leader Malcolm Howe and British-American actress Lucy Boynton (Miss Potter) stars as his daughter Andrea. Rising star Kristine Froseth, known for her recent turn in 2023 Apple TV+ period drama The Buccaneers, plays the daughter of Malcolm's deputy Quinn. And while others are full of praise for their performances, some viewers were not so keen. One brutally said: 'This is genuinely one of the worst movies, if not the worst movie, I have ever watched. Waste of two hours entirely.' Another was particular disappointed: 'Interesting concept and story. Started out strong with good acting. Then 45 minutes of total boredom and static. 'Watching wet paint dry would have been more interesting. But while others are full of praise for their performances, some viewers were not so keen 'Then it picked up the pace again but became muddled in a series of spasmodic, disjointed and confused nonsense.' Director Gareth, well known for his work on the Indonesian action film series The Raid, told Collider about how he tried to make Apostle different to other horror movies. 'With horror, usually, all of those suspense builds and tension builds are to jump scare, but then the release is really quick, he explained. 'They just say, "Pop", and it's gone. You've got the little jolt and then you carry on. 'For me, what I wanted to do instead is wait, where I can sustain that sense of dread, sustain that feeling of danger so you don't get those jump scare release moments. 'I might move you into another part of the plot, but I haven't let you let go of that feeling yet.' Fans' rediscovery of the movie comes as lead actor Dan's old Downton Abbey co-stars team up one final time for the beloved series' last spin-off film. Dan's character Matthew made a shock departure from the show in 2012, during the Christmas Day special - to viewer outrage.
