Gold prices tumble
Following a big drop, the total value of local gold scaled down to Rs352,300 per tola and Rs302,040 per 10 grams, according to All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association.
Domestic and global silver markets held steady at Rs3,745 per tola, Rs3,210 per 10 grams and $36 per ounce, the association added.

FFC announces its financial results
ISLAMABAD: Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited (FFC) has announced its financial results for the period ended June 30, 2025 in its Board of Directors' meeting held on July 29, 2025. The company achieved net profitably of Rs 38.5 billion as compared to Rs 26 billion translating into an EPS of Rs 27. FFC attained aggregate urea production of 1419 thousand tonnes and registered aggregate sales revenue of Rs 155 billion. Other income of company also increased due to higher dividend distribution by associated companies. The company declared its second interim dividend of Rs 12 per share, with a total distribution of Rs 19 per share for the period. The Company maintained an uninterrupted business operations including continued supply chain, besides maintaining highest standards of health and safety for the employees. Green tech, smart urban planning: Netherlands ready to collaborate with CDA
ISLAMABAD: The Netherlands has expressed interest in supporting Islamabad's development through collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in areas such as green technology, smart urban planning, and sustainable infrastructure. This was discussed during a meeting between CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa and Deputy Head of Mission of the Netherlands Embassy, Heijo Provo Kluit. The Dutch envoy appreciated CDA's timely and effective response to drainage challenges during the recent heavy monsoon rains. He specifically acknowledged Randhawa's personal visit to the Dutch embassy and lauded the dedicated efforts of CDA officials. He also praised initiatives such as the upgradation of the Diplomatic Enclave and the transformation of CDA Nursery into the Gardenia Hub. The CDA chairman briefed the diplomat on ongoing and planned development works aimed at making Islamabad a model capital. He shared details about infrastructure improvements, long-term landscaping plans, and efforts to enhance urban beauty and environmental sustainability in line with the interior minister's directives.
