'Take Me Out' Returning to Broadway in October With Jesse Williams, Jesse Tyler Ferguson
'For over 30 years, it's been one of life's great pleasures to know Rich and his writing. Dazzling, humane, wildly funny,' Falls wrote. 'He was also one of the smartest people I've ever met. But he wore that brilliance lightly—often cloaked in hilarity, or tossed off in the driest, most devastating line at dinner. His kindness was real. His loss is enormous.'
Greenberg's plays were known for their wit and sophistication, and covered a wide range of topics, from a pro baseball team reacting to the presence of a gay player in the locker room in 'Take Me Out' to an Upper West Side family grappling with the consequences of their bad choices in 'The Assembled Parties.' Greenberg's work, which includes 'Three Days of Rain,' 'Our Mother's Brief Affair' and 'The American Plan,' was frequently produced on and off Broadway, as well as at top regional theaters. He also wrote a disastrous 2013 adaptation of 'Breakfast at Tiffany's,' as well as penned a well-received adaptation of August Strindberg's 'Dance of Death' that brought Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren to Broadway.
In addition to winning the Tony for best new play for 'Take Me Out' in 2003, Greenberg was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for that show and for 'Three Days of Rain.'
Falls wrote on social media that Greenberg was working with him on a new adaptation of Philip Barry's 'Holiday' that was supposed to premiere next year at Chicago's Goodman Theatre.

Meghan toasts to ‘beautiful day' as she launches new rose wine
The Duchess of Sussex has toasted to a 'beautiful day' to mark the launch of her latest rose wine. Meghan released her As Ever Napa Valley Rose 2024 – described as evoking the same 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish' as the 2023 rose – on Tuesday. It comes after the previous rose, launched last month, sold out within an hour. In a video posted on her Instagram, Meghan can be seen uncorking a bottle marked 'Bottle #1' in front of bouquets of pink and cream flowers – followed by close-up of the cork bearing the As Ever logo. Alongside the clip, she wrote: 'Here we go! First bottle off the line! 'Toasting to a beautiful day: Our Napa rose is live @aseverofficial.' As with the previous wine, the beverage is priced at more than £67 for a minimum three-bottle order – and only appeared to be available for US customers to buy, with shipping addresses limited to America. As Ever is Meghan's lifestyle brand which also sells cookie mix, herb tea, flower sprinkles and jams. A post on the company's Instagram show the corks branded with the As Ever logo, with a caption reading: 'C'est l'heure. 'Enjoy your last sips of summer with the newest vintage of our beloved Napa Valley rose.' The website describes the drink as 'thoughtfully curated by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex' and that it has been 'made to be enjoyed with the ones you love'. The pale pink wine, which comes in a clear bottle with a white, gold-rimmed label, has an ABV (alcohol by volume) of 13.5% – one percent lower than its predecessor. As with the 2023 rose, the newest wine is not available to buy in orders of less than three bottles. Three bottles cost 90 US dollars (around £67), six bottles cost 159 dollars (around £119) including a 12% discount, and 12 bottles are priced at 300 dollars (around £225) including a 17% discount. Meghan and the Duke of Sussex left the UK and moved to California five years ago for a new life after stepping down from the working monarchy. Napa Valley wine country is in northern California, around 50 miles from San Francisco.

Liam Neeson Hilariously Mocked Paramount Execs Into Greenlighting THE NAKED GUN Reboot — GeekTyrant
The Naked Gun reboot may be winning over fans now, but it almost didn't happen. According to director Akiva Schaffer, Paramount wasn't immediately sold on the idea, even with Liam Neeson attached as the lead. So, how did it get the greenlight? Simple. Neeson roasted the Paramount execs in a hilarious test scene that left no room for doubt. Schaffer told Filmmaker Magazine: '[Liam Neeson's casting] was not quite enough for the studio for whatever reason, and they asked us to do a proof of concept.' To prove their vision, Schaffer and his team went scrappy. They threw together a five-minute mock sequence on the Paramount lot in an old warehouse filled with lighting equipment, turning it into a gritty noir-style set reminiscent of Beverly Hills Cop II . The scene mashed up parts from different bits in the script, including an interrogation with Kevin Durand and comedy pulled from the sequence with Busta Rhymes. But the mic-drop moment came at the end, when Neeson locked eyes with the camera and delivered a fourth-wall-breaking takedown that sealed the deal. 'There's that noir lighting on his face, and he says, 'That goes for you, too. Yes, you, the Paramount greenlight committee. I see you there. What the f*ck are you waiting for? Why don't you get your pencil pushers to sign [on] the line? 'I'll tell you what. Make sure they have a line item for adult diapers and cocaine in case one of you ever wants to visit set,' or something like that. He basically talks shit to them and leaves. And it worked!' Apparently, that ballsy scene was exactly the kind of chaos the studio needed to see. I would love to see that video, so hopefully it gets released one day! The final film delivers exactly what that proof-of-concept promised… a wild, ridiculous ride that pays loving tribute to the 1988 classic. Neeson steps into the spotlight as the son of Leslie Nielsen's iconic Frank Drebin. The new Naked Gun lineup includes Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Busta Rhymes, and Cody Rhodes, bringing a mix of comedy, action, and hilarious absurdity. The Naked Gun is in theaters now and is absolutely worth seeing if you're into this franchise!
