Girl, seven, is 'murdered by her mother with single punch to the belly'
Naikishia Williams, 32, was arrested on Friday morning on accusations that she killed Nia Williams on April 28 in Riviera Beach.
Medical personnel who found Nia rushed her to a nearby hospital, but they were too late to save her life.
An indictment handed down on Thursday said that Nia died from blunt force trauma to her abdomen with 'premeditated design'.
Williams was booked in Palm Beach County jail on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.
She appeared in a county courtroom on Friday where a judge granted the state's request to hold her without bond.
A two-month investigation led to the murder charges against Williams, who caretakers said was known to abuse Nia.
'She caused the death. She should have been in jail a long time ago', the girl's caretaker, Rebecca Finley, told WPTV, alongside Nia's godmother, Whytni Walker.
Walker said she had contacted the Department Of Children And Families (DCF) over concerns about Williams' children just 12 days before Nia's death.
She described the kids as being 'very malnourished'. Finley said Williams' other kids are now safe and being cared for.
Finley added: 'There wasn't one person who was not aware of this young lady being a dangerous mother.'
She called Nia a 'brilliant' child who loved make-up and was a 'fashionista'. The caretaker added that she's now committed to speaking out for Nia.
Finley said: 'I'm guaranteeing she's saying, "Auntie, tell them everything. Don't forget anything".'
Williams is next set to appear in court on July 28. She was assigned a public defender.

A man aged 31 has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two people were killed in a quadruple stabbing at a London business. The Metropolitan Police announced the charges faced by a man from Hackney, east London, who had initially been detained following Monday's attacks in Southwark. Det Chief Supt Emma Bond, who leads policing for the area, said today: 'Our thoughts are first and foremost with the family and friends of the victims of this tragic incident. 'Our investigation continues at pace and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances. 'I understand there may be concern in the local community and there will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. Ghislaine Maxwell's life could be in danger in prison, reporter warns
Ghislaine Maxwell's life may be in jeopardy behind bars after she allegedly shared new information about Jeffrey Epstein with the U.S. Department of Justice, according to one of the top reporters covering the scandal. Julie K. Brown, the Miami Herald journalist whose 2018 reporting helped bring Epstein and Maxwell back into the spotlight, said the 63-year-old British socialite is not safe inside the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee, Florida. In a podcast, she said: 'It is so easy to cover up a crime in jail. The cameras are broken, guards fall asleep - they are, for the most part, very corrupt.' Brown added that Maxwell's recent decision to cooperate with federal investigators had put a target on her back and claimed that she 'wouldn't necessarily be safe anywhere.' Concerns over her safety have loomed long before she agreed to speak with the DOJ, which now includes former Trump lawyer Todd Blanche as Deputy Attorney General. Her lawyer, David Markus, previously described the intense surveillance his client faced in custody following her 2020 arrest. The scrutiny was widely believed to be an attempt to avoid a repeat of Epstein's death in August 2019, when he was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in Manhattan.
