The Mets are retiring David Wright's number on Saturday. How much are tickets?
Captain America is finally getting his due.
On Saturday, July 19, the New York Mets are retiring David Wright's No. 5 jersey before their 4:10 game against the Cincinnati Reds at Citi Field.
In addition to that honor, the seven-time All Star will also be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame, joining Tom Seaver as the only players to receive both distinctions on the same day.

The likely emotional ceremony looking back at the Virginia native's storied career from 2004-16 (and 2018 for just a minute) where he blasted 242 home runs, knocked in 970 runs, helped lead the team to the 2015 World Series and netted a pair of Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Awards.
'I can't quite put into words the appreciation I have for the city of New York and Mets fans,' the 42-year-old said in a statement. 'For 15 years I felt like I had 40,000 friends and family members in the stands each night. It was an honor of a lifetime taking the field as your Captain and I truly feel like this honor is just as much yours as it is mine. Thank you for the continued support and I can't wait to see you on July 19!'
As of now, The Post doesn't know who will join Wright at the pre-game event although we'd guess his former teammate José Reyes and Manager Terry Collins will be in attendance.
If you want to be there as well, last-minute tickets are still available.

The Murder Of Junko Furuta, A Man "Eaten Alive" By A Sinkhole, And A Bunch Of Other Terrifying Things You Should Know About
Hello! I'm Crystal, and you've landed on my weekly roundup of creepy, macabre, and horrible AF things I really wanted to share with like-minded folks (like you)! And if you looooove this kind of content, you should subscribe to my official That Got Dark newsletter to get your weekly dopamine fix of the macabre delivered RIGHT to your inbox! Now, fair warning, because this is a weekly newsletter, just know this article won't be formatted like your typical ~BuzzFeed style~ list. If you need to add a new fear in your life, I have the perfect one for you: being eaten alive by a sinkhole. In 2013, a man in Florida named Jeffrey Bush was 'swallowed alive' by a 17-foot-wide SINKHOLE that had formed under his bedroom in the middle of the night, while he was sleeping. And, yes, you read that right…UNDER. HIS. BEDROOM. Apparently, the floor collapsed beneath Jeffrey, and he fell down into the void along with a dresser, TV, and most of his bed set. His brother, Jeremy, tried to save him, but said it was too late by the time he rushed in to help. Jeremy told reporters that all he could see was cable wire running from the TV down into the sinkhole, and a corner of Jeffrey's Bed. Jeffrey's body was NEVER recovered. Related: Occasionally, I like to ask the BuzzFeed Community to tell me about the most mysterious, cult-like, bad-vibes towns in the United States they've ever been to. And you'd be shocked at how many responses I get each time (or maybe not). This week's spotlight: Mack, Colorado 'Once we had to stop here for do this! Real The Hills Have Eyes vibes. We immediately turned around because of the bad vibes, but got stuck by a passing train. When we returned, a woman, rail-thin with missing teeth, yelled, 'Fill up, I'll open up!' So I started getting gas and noticed the 1980s-style pump had a piece of tape tripping the price. I go past the foul garbage can with flies everywhere and open the door to a horror movie. To my right, a boy eating cereal at a table stops and stares desperately at me. All the store racks were covered with plastic, and dolls were hanging from the rafters. As the woman started yelling, 'You didn't fill up!' I noticed a paper saying, 'Where are you from?' I dropped a 20 to cover my gas. We drove off only to be stopped by the train again. Just as it cleared the road, I saw the woman with other devil's reject types running after the car. Luckily, we got out of there, so I can warn you all!" —Anonymous Related: Wikipedia is like the Wild West. It's vast, lawless, and sometimes you can find some extremely weird (and horrifying) things out there. This week's spotlight: The murder of Junko Furuta. Warning: This is an extremely graphic story. Junko Furuta was a Japanese high school student who was abducted, raped, tortured, and then subsequently murdered in 1989 by four teenage boys over the course of 44 days. Some of the horrific acts she was subjected to included being repeatedly burned, beaten, forced to drink her own urine, and set on fire. Her case was often referred to as the "concrete-encased high school girl murder case," because her body was discovered packed in concrete inside a dumped oil drum. The case became widely known not only due to the extremely graphic nature of the repeated beatings and sexual assaults she endured, but also the belief from the public that the perpetrators received lenient sentences. Bruce Lee — Died: July 20, 1973. Cause of Death: Cerebral edema (swelling of the brain). How he died: Lee died on July 20, 1973, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong after being found unconscious on the floor of his apartment. He was 32 years old. Interestingly, at the time of his death, Lee had been in the process of working on a film called Game of Death. Because Lee had only shot roughly 40 minutes of footage before he died, the filmmakers opted to finish the film by using stand-ins, recycled scenes from some of his previous works, and even used real-life footage of Lee in his casket (as seen above) for a scene where the character in the film fakes his own death. Why you should watch it: This is from a few years ago, but if you missed it, I HIGHLY recommend you get on that. It's a deeply fascinating story told through the eyes of the detectives who actually chased Ramirez. Where you can watch it: Streaming for free on Netflix. David Alan Gore Gore was a serial killer who committed six brutal murders in Florida between 1981 and 1983. He was often accompanied by his cousin, Fred Waterfield, and together they were given the moniker the "Killing Cousins." They would abduct, rape, and murder women and teenage girls, often using Gore's position as an auxiliary sheriff's deputy to lure victims. Gore was arrested after a failed escape attempt by 17-year-old Lynn Elliott, whose murder led to his capture. He was executed by lethal injection in 2012 after spending 28 years on death row. His last meal: Fried chicken, French fries, and butter pecan ice cream. Well, I think it's time we shut it down for the week. David Peterson proved as Mets lone reliable again when needed most
Access the Mets beat like never before Join Post Sports+ for exciting subscriber-only features, including real-time texting with Mike Puma about the inside buzz on the Mets. Try it free In the past 35 games, the Mets have received just five starts of at least six innings. All of them have been courtesy of David Peterson. The lone reliable and healthy Mets starter all season has been their All-Star lefty, who again provided desperately needed length and excellence in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Reds at Citi Field. Peterson's six innings, in which he allowed one unearned run on four hits and a walk, lowered his ERA to 2.90 and shrunk his home ERA to 1.91 over 10 starts. It was ho-hum for Peterson, and would have been revelatory for any other Mets starter. David Peterson (23) throws a pitch in the first inning against the Cincinnati Reds at Citi Field, Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Queens, NY. Corey Sipkin for the NY POST Clay Holmes — the owner of the last non-Peterson quality start for the Mets, way back on June 7 — has appeared to tire in his first full season as an MLB starter. Kodai Senga and Sean Manaea are building up on the fly (and slowly, especially in Manaea's case). Frankie Montas has not yet finished six innings in four starts. Because of the starters' inability to pitch deep into games (and often an inability to pitch well in games), the Mets bullpen has been taxed. Entering play Sunday, their relievers had logged the third-most innings (142 ²/₃) in the majors since June 8. During that stretch, the bullpen's 5.68 ERA has been fourth worst in baseball, likely a reflection of overuse taking its toll. CHECK OUT THE LATEST MLB STANDINGS AND METS STATS This has made Peterson invaluable. With the starters around him still stretching out, Peterson acknowledged that it 'crosses your mind' how important distance is. 'I don't necessarily see it as pressure,' said Peterson, who ranks third in the NL in ERA among lefty qualifiers. 'We're obviously trying to go as deep as we can in every game. That's our job and trying to give the team a chance to win.' David Peterson (23) pitches in the first inning when the New York Mets played the Cincinnati Reds Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Citi Field in Queens, NY. Robert Sabo for NY Post Manager Carlos Mendoza added: 'For him to go six there, it was solid.' Particularly because of how it began. Peterson threw 43 pitches in his first two innings, which included the Reds' only run against him — aided by a poor stretch from impromptu first baseman Mark Vientos on the first batter of the game. A ground single from Matt McClain and a hard single up the middle from Elly De La Cruz put the Mets in a hole. But Peterson used a double play to escape further damage. Check out more newsletters Peterson loaded the bases in the second inning on a single, a walk and a hit-by-pitch, but used a biting slider that McClain swung over to navigate out of the jam. After surviving, Peterson thrived and faced the minimum from the third through sixth. A bullpen without many trustworthy pieces needed appearances from Huascar Brazobán, Reed Garrett, Edwin Díaz (who stumbled) and Ryne Stanek to snap a three-game losing streak. 'When we have certain guys [in the bullpen] being used,' Peterson said, 'you want to be able to try and get as deep as you can to get it to those guys late in the game.'
