TEMPLEGATE'S TIPS Horse racing tips: 'He can fly home with a big weight allowance' – Templegate's 6-1 NAP and one 'at a huge price'
TEMPLEGATE tackles Saturday's action confident of building the bank for Epsom next week.
Back a horse by clicking their odds below.
LOOM (York 2.40, nap)
Richard Fahey's three-year-old gets a hefty weight allowance from his older rivals and he's already shown enough to win this. After a promising comeback fifth at Newmarket last month, he found a lot more when second here in a big field last time. He might have won had he been a bit closer to the pace before flying home. This is his sixth start so he's still learning and there's more to come.
ESTRANGE (2.58 Haydock, nb)
This filly to follow finished last season with a smooth Listed success at Doncaster over 1m2f. She is from the family of St Leger winner Logician so will relish this stiffer test of stamina. She can improve for David O'Meara on just her fourth racecourse outing.
WITCH HUNTER (2.10 Chester, treble)
Looks a massive price after a good effort at Ascot last time. He has copped a handy draw in stall two and has had a nudge down the weights. He'll be right there for Richard Hannon.
Templegate's TV verdicts
YORK
2.40
LOOM ran a cracker here two weeks ago when second in a big field handicap.
That was just his second run of the campaign and he should take another step forward for it.
His draw in stall three should be ideal and he's best over this trip.
JM Jungle has a strong record at York and was second here earlier this month in good company.
The Quinn yard is in decent form and he'll be right there again.
Duran got the job done nicely at Haydock over this trip last time and a 4lb rise keeps him right in the hunt.
Kodiac Thriller got the job done nicely when scooting in over this distance at Thirsk 14 days ago.
An 8lb rise in and hike in grade gives him more to do but he's capable of better.
Bond Chairman could be a big price on debut for a new yard.
He's been out of sorts for a while so has tumbled to 11lb below his last winning mark and this distance is ideal.
3.15
TERM OF ENDEARMENT stormed home to win this last year and can repeat the feat having left Henry De Bromhead for William Haggas.
Her return in Dubai was always going to be a warm-up, especially over a trip that stretches her a little.
She'll love getting back over 1m6f at an ideal track on ground that suits.
Scenic shaped with promise on return at Goodwood last time and looks the main danger.
All her best form has come over 1m4f so far but she was staying on strongly last time and should see this out in decent conditions.
Sueno was behind her last time having just her third start.
She was coming back from a long break so could easily close the gap especially with Ryan Moore in the saddle.
Divina Grace was a well-beaten third in a Newmarket Group 2 latest and needs to prove her stamina for this longer distance.
HAYDOCK
1.48
FINE INTERVIEW has a run under his belt thanks to a neck third in a big field at Donny in March.
He finished last season with an impressive distance win on Town Moor and has more to come.
He will enjoy a little bit of juice in the ground and William Buick can steer him home.
Durham Castle will go very close if fit for this comeback run.
He scored on the sand at Southwell before winning easily on handicap debut at Goodwood in September.
He's up 9lb for that smooth success over this trip but he looks capable of improving past that with the Crisford training ream in decent form.
Tinto finished strongly when beaten on the nod over 5f at Thirsk earlier this month.
He shapes as though going back up in trip will help.
Oisin Murphy getting back on board is a plus for King's Lynn who is on the downgrade but still has enough quality to figure.
Kodi Lion has been second in good company at Ascot and Donny heading here and likes this trip. He could still be improving.
Evergreen Dakota Gold scored at Ripon last time and likes it here. He has place claims up 3lb.
2.23
SHAGRAAN could be overpriced given how well he's been running in hot handicaps.
He was in a blanket finish at Doncaster before running another cracker in a big field at York 16 days ago.
He has winning form over course and distance and doesn't mind dead ground.
Jasour is interesting coming back from a long break. He was third in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at last year's Royal Ascot so has class.
This is his easiest race for a long time on paper and he's gone well fresh before.
No Half Measures looked rusty on comeback at Newmarket earlier this month.
He has some smart form over this trip and should build on that return effort.
Leovanni was a classy two-year-old and won the Group 2 Queen Mary which is top form.
She doesn't want more rain as her Cheveley Park effort on soft ground was her worst of the season.
Rage Of Bamby will be sharper for her comeback struggle at York last time but her best efforts have come over further.
Seven Questions also needed his comeback at HQ and has run well here before.
2.58
ESTRANGE finished last season with an impressive Listed win over 1m2f at Doncaster on soft ground.
She gives the stronger impression that this step up in trip will bring more improvement and there should be a little bit of juice in the ground which she likes.
Shaha took a big step up when moving up to this distance at Goodwood on comeback earlier this month.
She had plenty left in the tank crossing the line and her fitness is assured.
Beautiful Love has her sights lowered slightly after a well-beaten second at York last time.
She isn't screaming out for this longer trip but should see it out.
She needs a little step up to get her head back in front.
The rest need to improve a bundle with Chorus looking the pick despite being no match for Shaha last time out.
She is proven over this distance and may improve for that run.
3.33
ALYANAABI looked a different horse on his first run since being gelded here last time.
He stormed home over course and distance and looks the type to improve as a four-year-old.
Kinross looks the big danger on comeback. He won this way back in 2021 and wasn't disgraced in Group 1s last season.
He may not be the force he was but he still has enough to figure.
Audience landed Group 2 honours at Glorious Goodwood last year before not enjoying himself dropped to 6f.
He is back over his ideal trip here and had a run in Dubai last month so should be fit. His best form would take him close.
Spycatcher landed a cosy win at Doncaster on comeback in March and has held his own at this level before.

Back a horse by clicking their odds below. JOWDDAH (5.00 Nottingham, nap) Looked well above average when following a Newcastle maiden win with victory on her handicap debut at Yarmouth last time. She settled just off the pace and showed a good turn of foot when asked. There should be more to come. LIKEALOT (6.15 Chelmsford, nb) Scooted in on debut here back in February for Ralph Beckett. Estrange encounter of the impressive kind at Haydock

Making her seasonal reappearance after three runs last year in which she was beaten only once and ended the campaign with a Listed triumph at Doncaster, the David O'Meara-trained four-year-old was ridden with confidence by Daniel Tudhope. Still in cruise control on the outside of runners travelling for home, the 13-8 chance only had to be given the minimum of encouragement to account for market rival and favourite Shaha by four and a quarter lengths. An IMPRESSIVE performance 👏 Estrange bolts up to win the Betfred Nifty 50 Lester Piggott Fillies' Stakes 🥇#ITVRacing | @haydockraces — ITV Racing (@itvracing) May 31, 2025 Put in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by her Cheveley Park Stud connections at the first entry stage, that does not look too fanciful now. Paddy Power cut her to 33s from 66-1 for Paris, while Coral also halved her odds to 25-1 from 50s. O'Meara said: 'Danny said she's great to ride. She shuts down and saves energy, you can put her anywhere and give her a small squeeze and she comes alive. For me for the yard, for everyone it is brilliant to have a horse like her in the yard. 'She handles cut in the ground, she's gone on good ground today. I think we'll stay away from quick conditions, but the Pretty Polly (at the Curragh) could be considered or there's a race back here, the Lancashire Oaks, and then the Yorkshire Oaks and if she is good enough it would be great to be considering Longchamp. 'Potentially she could be the best we've had.' O'Meara has trained Group One winners like Amazing Maria, Mondialiste and G Force and he said Estrange's talent was obvious from a very early stage. 'We knew before she made her debut at Goodwood that she was very good,' he went on. 'You don't gallop these sort of fillies every day. Goodwood was no surprise, Yarmouth was a disappointment, but I blame myself for that, Doncaster was then great. 'Today was a step up again, she looks like she's progressed and I'm very, very lucky to have her. 'It never looked in doubt at any stage today.' O'Meara was completing a double on the card following the earlier success of Stressfree.
