Idaho killer's Tinder match reveals disturbing question he asked on date

Metro6 days ago
As Idaho murderer Bryan Kohberger's motive in stabbing four university students remains a mystery, many other details about him have emerged, including a disturbing question he allegedly asked a Tinder date.
The day after Kohberger was sentenced to life in prison for the quadruple killings, police released a trove of documents from the investigation revealing chilling red flags before he slaughtered the students on November 13, 2022.
A woman who claimed she matched with Kohberger on Tinder and went on a date with him in September or October 2022 told police that they talked about a murder that had happened in her town a couple years prior.
The woman, identified as C, told police that Kohberger then asked what her favorite horror movie was.
'C told Kohberger she liked the Rob Zombie Halloween movies. To this, C said Kohberger asked what she thought would be the worst way to die,' states the police report.
'C said she thought it would be a knife.'
The woman said Kohberger asked her if she thought it would be a Ka-Bar knife. That was the type of knife and sheath that was purchased on Amazon before Kohberger killed the University of Idaho students.
C said she did know know the brand and 'eventually stopped talking to Kohberger because his questions made her uncomfortable', according to the report.
The officer who wrote the report said the woman no longer had access to her Tinder account, so there was 'nothing to corroborate'. There was also 'no record' of her calling the FBI about the incident. It was not clear when she called police with the tip. More Trending
Kohberger left a leather sheath at the Moscow town off-campus housing unit where he murdered Kaylee Goncalves, 21; Madison Mogen, 21; Xana Kernodle, 20; and Ethan Chapin, 20.
The weapon used in the killings has not been recovered.
Victims' families were divided on Kohberger's plea deal, which spared him the death penalty. Family members of three of the victims delivered emotional impact statements at Ada County Courthouse in Boise on Wednesday, as Kohberger sat emotionless and stared.
Asked by the judge if he would speak, Kohberger answered: 'I respectfully decline.'

Keanu Reeves's stolen John Wick Rolex returned after cops bust celeb heist gang

's treasured John Wick Rolex has been returned to him after it was stolen from his LA mansion in 2023. The action star, 60, wasn't home when a group of masked thieves broke into his home, ransacked the place, and vanished with a haul that included a nearly $10,000 Rolex. Six of Keanu's watches were recovered last year during a sting in Santiago, Chile - part of a joint operation between Chilean police and the FBI to take down a South America-based burglary crew targeting celebrity homes, including Reeves and Taylor Swift 'sboyfriend, Travis Kelce, per TMZ. Reeves's Rolex was etched with a personal message: '2021, JW4, thank you, The John Wick Five.' On Wednesday, Chilean officials handed over $125,000 worth of recovered jewelry to the FBI - who are working to return the goods to the actor, according to the outlet. Also recovered in the sting: stolen cars, iPhones, and a stash of designer purses. Despite the heightened security measures, the 2023 break-in rattled Reeves and his team. Authorities believe the burglars were after more than just valuables - they reportedly made off with a firearm along with other items. The incident wasn't the first time Reeves's Hollywood Hills estate was targeted; a similar attempt happened back in 2014, underscoring ongoing security concerns. Earlier that year, Reeves had already taken legal steps to protect himself, securing a temporary restraining order against Bryan Dixon, an alleged stalker who repeatedly showed up at his property. Surveillance footage captured Dixon trespassing six times over a two-month span, including moments when he climbed over walls, smoked in the garden, and even fell asleep in the backyard before being removed. The actor responded by hiring a private security firm to monitor the estate, but despite their efforts, the risks remained - culminating in that unsettling December night. The suspect returned the next morning, leaving a 'suspicious and alarming' backpack on the property. It included a DNA testing kit 'apparently intended to use on Mr Reeves in a delusional attempt to prove they are blood-related.' Reeves's LA home was also the scene of back-to-back intruders in 2014. At the time, a female intruder reportedly wandered into the star's home and was discovered by a cleaning team - after she stripped off and jumped in the pool. The actor was not at the property when the incident occurred.

Mystery over orange shape seen on surveillance footage near Jeffrey Epstein's jail cell the night before his death

Forensic experts are questioning the American government's account of the final night of paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein's life, after a new review of CCTV footage found an orange shape was spotted near his prison cell. Earlier this month, CCTV footage taken outside Epstein's cell was released six years after the notorious paedophile was found dead. Around 11 hours of footage taken from inside the Metropolitan Correctional Centre in New York City on August 9 and 10 2019 was publicly revealed for the first time. Following his arrest on multiple charges, including sex trafficking, he was found unresponsive in his cell early in the morning of August 10 and was later declared dead in hospital. Coroners at the time ruled he had committed suicide by hanging, and a recent FBI and Department of Justice (DoJ) investigation into his death concluded the same. But a new analysis carried out by CBS News has raised questions over whether this assessment was correct. In the 11-hour clip, which is already facing accusations of being doctored, a shadowy, orange object could be seen moving up the stairs to Epstein's cell block at the New York prison at around 10:40pm the night before he was found dead. While federal investigators initially concluded that the blob, which can only be seen briefly, was a corrections officer 'carrying linen or inmate clothing', forensic experts told CBS that it may have actually been another inmate. A shadowy, orange object could be seen moving up the stairs to Epstein's cell block at the New York prison at around 10:40pm the night before he was found dead Conor McCourt, a retired NYPD sergeant and forensic video expert, told the broadcaster: 'Based on the limited video, it's more likely a person in an [orange] uniform.' Trump's administration is already under fire for allegedly doctoring the supposedly 'raw' footage using Adobe Premiere Pro from two clips. One of the clips was originally four hours and 19 minutes long, but it had nearly two minutes and 53 seconds cut out. The cut occurs at 11:58:58 pm - which is mere milliseconds before there is a one-minute gap in the tape. The second clip resumes at midnight on the dot. Attorney General Pam Bondi blamed the gap on a 'nightly system reset.' Though the timing may suggest overlap, the metadata shows that the file was modified multiple times on May 23, 2025, over a span of more than three hours, contradicting the notion that this was 'raw' footage.

Abusive woman stabbed ex in heart on Christmas Day after seeing his Tinder page

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Chilling CCTV footage shows a dad-of-six clutching at his chest after his abusive ex-partner stabbed him in the heart on Christmas Day. Kirsty Carless, 33, will be jailed for life later today for murdering 31-year-old Louis Price during an attack 'motivated by anger and jealousy and fuelled by cocaine and alcohol' after seeing his Tinder profile. She tried to claim she wasn't a violent person during her trial but jurors at Stafford Crown Court were told Mr Price was considered by police to be 'at very high risk of domestic abuse' before his death. They were shown separate footage of him sobbing to police officers after he called 999 to report another attack by Carless just weeks earlier, saying: 'It's f****** embarrassing… it can't keep happening, man.' In a witness statement after the incident, Mr Price said the relationship, which started in 2021, had been 'on the whole, abusive', that she had stopped him doing things he liked, such as playing football and had physically abused him. His friend, Demi-Louise Deakin, told jurors he had confided in her that he was 'scared of Kirsty' and feared 'something bad would happen' if he did not leave her. The court heard Carless messaged Mr Price the day before his death on December 25 last year saying: 'I hate u… I wish you was dead.' She spent that evening at the pub drinking double vodka and cokes with a male friend before going back to his home and having sex. But prosecutor Jonas Hankin KC told jurors 'things changed' when a friend sent her a screenshot of Mr Price's Tinder profile. Carless then left the male friend's home, took a taxi back to her house, where she picked up a kitchen knife and got another taxi to Mr Price's parents' address in Elm Road, Norton Canes, where she expected to find him with a woman. Mr Price's relatives wept at CCTV showing her running up the front path into the house and then 'stalking' him around the garden. He was later found with a single stab wound to the chest on the conservatory floor. Carless had called Mr Price 45 times between 2.15am and 2.44am while she waited for the taxi to take her to the address where he had been staying since their relationship ended. The only break in what Mr Hankin called the 'barrage' of calls was when she rang the cab firm to check where her taxi was. After arriving at the address, Carless asked the taxi driver to wait outside while she went into the property to stab Mr Price at around 3am. The taxi driver reported that around 30 seconds after Carless let herself into the property with a key, he heard a 'very loud and prolonged' scream from a man and that he 'sounded scared'. Less than two minutes after arriving at the scene, Carless was 'anxious and sweating' as she got back into the taxi and demanded the driver take her to her parents' home, where she admitted what she had done and 999 was called. More Trending 'The evidence shows, the prosecution say, that Kirsty Carless was manipulative, emotionally volatile and jealous,' Mr Hankin said. 'Her harmful use of alcohol and cocaine worsened her behaviour, and the effects of intoxication intensified the negative traits of her personality.' Carless was found guilty of murder and possession of an offensive weapon by the jury of seven men and five women after around a day of deliberation on Wednesday. She was also found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm by a majority of 11 to one in connection with an incident in November 2024.
