MSEDCL Marks 20th Anniversary With ‘Zero Accident' Campaign, Cultural Fest

1 2 3 Nagpur: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) celebrated its 20th anniversary with enthusiasm and active participation from employees and their families. Organised by the Nagpur Circle, the celebrations took on a family-centric atmosphere as regular and outsourced staff, engineers, officers, and their relatives came together to commemorate the milestone. Guided by Nagpur Circle's chief engineer Dilip Dodke, the week leading up to the anniversary, from June 1 to 6, was observed as Electricity Safety Week. Based on the theme 'Zero Accidents in MSEDCL, Zero Accidents in Maharashtra', a wide-reaching awareness campaign was conducted across Nagpur and Wardha districts. The week featured marathons, rallies, painting and essay competitions, and outreach visits to residential societies where safety practices related to electricity use and distribution were discussed. The initiative emphasised consumer and employee safety as its core message. The concluding ceremony and main anniversary event in Nagpur and Wardha became memorable celebrations, blending recognition and entertainment. The programme commenced with a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his 351st coronation anniversary, followed by a documentary tracing MSEDCL's 20-year journey. The film included congratulatory messages from chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and managing director Lokesh Chandra, along with guidance on electrical safety. The event also recognised key contributions within the organisation. Substations at Dhapewada (Saoner Division) and Mohgaon, Dongargaon, Nildoh, and Sonegaon (Butibori Division) were awarded ISO certifications, and the respective engineers, technicians, and outsourced staff were felicitated. Winners of the safety week's painting and essay contests were also awarded. The ceremony was attended by director (customer relations) Gauri Chandrayaan, poet and jury member Loknath Yashwant, superintending engineers Amit Paranjape and Sanjay Wakde, along with a large number of staff and family members. A highlight of the celebration was an entertainment night held at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Convention Center on Kamptee Road. TV artist Ajit Koshti's solo comedy act 'Hasyarang' drew waves of laughter from the audience, while a live performance by the Seven Notes Orchestra, featuring popular Hindi and Marathi songs, provided a perfect end to the anniversary festivities.

Natalie Portman just won the fashion grand slam at the French Open

Natalie Portman, a Dior muse, made a stylish appearance at the French Open finale in Paris on June 8th. She showcased understated elegance in a white button-down shirt and blush pink skirt, complemented by a Dior straw hat and sunglasses. While all eyes were on the clay courts of Roland Garros for the 2025 French Open finale, Natalie Portman quietly served up her own sartorial win from the stands. The Oscar-winning actress was spotted enjoying the men's final on Sunday, June 8, in Paris, turning the bleachers into a soft-style runway moment. A longtime Dior muse, Portman epitomised understated elegance in a crisp white button-down shirt paired with a breezy blush pink skirt, a colour palette that mirrored the soft summer tones of a Parisian June. Proving that sophistication lies in simplicity, the Black Swan star accessorised her look with a wide-brimmed Christian Dior straw sun hat and dark sunglasses, effortlessly balancing fashion and function under the midday sun. The ensemble struck that perfect balance between polished and relaxed, ideal for a sun-soaked day at one of tennis's most prestigious tournaments. Her look was a masterclass in "quiet luxury" the kind of refined, label-whispering elegance that doesn't scream for attention but still commands it. Seated in the A-list section alongside fellow celebrities like Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell, Natalie appeared to be in good spirits, smiling and chatting between plays. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Men Are Raving About These 87¢ ED Meds – Totally Worth It Health Alliance by Friday Plans Learn More Undo While the crowd roared for Coco Gauff's historic win, the 20-year-old becoming the first American woman to clinch a French Open title since Serena Williams in 2015, Portman quietly captivated fashion watchers with her serene and minimalist look. If the French Open is the Wimbledon of understated European glamour, Natalie Portman's courtside appearance was proof that the best fashion statements are sometimes the subtlest. Think breezy pastels, crisp tailoring, and luxe accessories that don't try too hard, just like Natalie herself. Her Roland Garros appearance also reminded us why she continues to be one of fashion's most beloved muses: elegant, consistent, and always perfectly in step with the moment. From Chenab bridge to Madrid stage, a tale of languages that travel, unite and sometimes provoke

iStock Representative image Languages have the capacity to either fry bacon or stay gentle and pleasant. At times, simple and short words can be potentially more impactful in conveying powerful messages. All these were easily noticed over the last week or so when phrases of two public figures from Tamil Nadu gained traction. In fact, the speed with which their utterances spread was faster than the time taken by Vande Bharat Express to cross the Chenab bridge, an engineering marvel. But there the similarity ends. If actor-politician Kamal Haasan was intending to lay emphasis on some kind of familial relationship between Tamil and Kannada by his remark that 'Kannada was born out of Tamil', he ended up having a 'Thug Life' image in Karnataka and his movie shunted into the sidings. On the other side of the world was a questioner in Spain who was perhaps yearning for quite a bit of thrill when he asked DMK leader Kanimozhi about India's national language, but her reply that 'the national language of India is unity in diversity' must have derailed the enquirer's train of thoughts off its rails. With her riposte, the member of Parliament signalled that she was in Madrid to guard Indian interests against any type of onslaught, including on languages which, like junctions, intersect and influence each other before reaching their respective platforms. The gist of the two episodes is that, like people, languages travel far and wide and even to space, helping bridge the gulf, just like the Chenab bridge, which became possible only after people from all corners of India joined hands to conquer insurmountable challenges. Just as Indian cinema and Indian Railways have crossed all hurdles, it's hoped that Kashmir to Kanniyakumari track and field will inspire the nation to live in unity and take delight in diversity.
