began her film career in 2005 with a Hindi movie called 'Chand Sa Roshan Chehra'. But soon after, she shifted her focus to Telugu and Tamil films, where she found great success and became a star.
Hindi films compared to
South Indian cinema
Recently, she appeared as a guest in the Newsroom, by The Lallantop. During the conversation, she was asked about the difference between working in Hindi films compared to South
Indian cinema
.
Tamannaah shared that she started acting at a very young age. She recalled a time when she was replaced just because she was 'uncomfortable' doing a scene.
'Change the heroine'
She stated, "I think people try to shake your confidence because you are young and show that you don't know it.
You don't understand because you are not that age. So that happened many times. People try to humiliate you. I was once doing a film with a very big South star. And on some scenes, I had to say that I cannot do this. I am not comfortable with this. There was something in that scene with which I was not comfortable. I said that I am not comfortable doing this scene.
Then the star said - 'Change the heroine'."
The actress went on to add, "If someone tries to humiliate you, it is not necessary that you feel the same way. Whatever he felt, he said it out loud. It was his decision to treat his lead actor. The next day he himself came and apologised to me. He said 'Sorry, I was very upset. I was angry. I should not have behaved like that'."

Coolie box office: Rajinikanth's action thriller beats Thalapathy Vijay's Leo to become…, earns Rs… Rajinikanth's upcoming action thriller film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is creating massive buzz at the box office even prior its release. Featuring a stellar cast that includes Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, and a cameo appearance by Aamir Khan, the film has generated huge anticipation. While bookings for the film are already underway, reports now suggest that it has earned Rs 250 crore. How? Let's find out! Rajinikanth's Coolie beats Vijay's Leo According to reports by Pinkvilla, Coolie made on a hefty budget of Rs 375 crore, has already raked in close to Rs 250 crore through the sale of its international, satellite, music and digital rights. Reportedly, the film's international rights have already been sold for Rs 68 crore. Interestingly, Coolie that has earned Rs 30 crore from its International advance bookings has become the biggest opener for a Tamil film in the overseas markets, according to a report by Sacnilk. Well, The Rajinikanth starrer has surpassed Thalapathy Vijay's Leo, which had earned Rs 66 crore from international territories in 2023. Coolie to have morning shows? According to a report by India Today, Coolie will have early morning shows in Kerala and Karnataka, starting at 6 am. However, in Tamil Nadu, fans will have to wait until 9 am for the first show to be out. This decision comes after the state government cancelled all early morning screenings following the tragic loss of a fan during the first show of Thunivu in 2023. Reportedly, several theatres across Tamil Nadu have put up disclaimers, revealing that only 18 and above people will be allowed to watch Coolie in theatres. Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai wrote on X, 'Even before booking in TN starts for #Coolie, multiplexe majors PVR INOX and AGS Cinemas have announced that the film is (A) certified and those below 18 will not be allowed! Age proof at the entrance in case if the ushers have any doubt!.' As August 14 approaches, Coolie could possibly mark the highest day-one earnings of Rajinikanth's prolific career. Not apologetic about my body: John Abraham on moving past stereotypes in films
John Abraham recently talked about moving past body stereotypes, the media's focus on his looks, and choosing meaningful films that add to his legacy. He said that in his early days, he promoted his physique with roles in movies like 'Dostana' and 'Force', but now, as a producer, he wants to change that image. He also shared with India Today that while Bollywood used to be male-dominated, things have changed and the gap between men and women in the industry is now much an exclusive interview with India Today's Consulting Editor, Rajdeep Sardesai, actor John Abraham spoke about being labelled for his physique. He said, 'It was a monkey on my back but listen I'm not apologetic about the body. I mean I had it in 'Dostana' 15 years later I had it in 'Pathaan' - just the colour of the shorts were different, one was yellow and one was white. So I will definitely do action films, I'll do the big ones. I'd want to do Force - it's probably the most untapped big action film that's waiting to happen and I'm going to do that.""I will do the big ones but yes, I think the pressure was more from the media that kept reminding me 'hey listen it's about the body, it's about the body, it's about the body' and I'm like no, trust me, I'm going to give you something more. So when I became a producer the first thing I did was try and change that perception because right now, for me, it's about legacy, it's about what I want to leave behind, what I want to do. I'm not going to do four films a year; I'll do one film if that's meaningful and I'll try and make it work. Even if it doesn't, I'm okay,' he added. Watch the complete interview here: John also admitted he was always into fitness, but saw his body as a marketing tool early in his career. 'Always. But you know, I'm a marketing person also. So if it was about the body, I'd market the body. And talking about that, what do you mean by market the body? I mean I positioned myself as someone who has a body to show out there. So if it was the Dostana walking out of the water, if it was the Force, you know, it's fine - I just make the most of it,' he the subject of gender disparity in Hindi cinema, John observed, 'It isn't as much a macho male-dominated industry as it used to be. The lines have been blurred a lot to a large extent.'John Abraham was last seen in the Netflix spy drama 'The Diplomat', directed by Shivam Nair, which revolved around the US Embassy in Iran and followed the story of Uzma, a Delhi woman who travels to Malaysia for work but ends up trapped in Pakistan. His next release, 'Tehran', is set to premiere on Zee5 on August 14, right before Independence Day.- EndsMust Watch
