Young gun shoots nine-under 61 for maiden PGA Tour win
The 24-year-old Mouw triumphed in his 20th start on the tour when third-round leader Paul Peterson - who was playing the 10th hole at Kentucky's Hurstbourne Country Club when Mouw finished - missed a 55-foot birdie try from the front fringe on the 18th.
"I was mentally ready for a playoff," Mouw said. "But that wasn't the case and I'm just blessed to be the winner."

Mouw receives a two-year exemption and a PGA Championship spot next year, but not a spot in the Masters.
"I have job status for two more years and I get to use that to play some really good golf and try to win another golf tournament," Mouw said. "But as to my life, it doesn't change my life very much."
Peterson shot a 69 to finish a stroke back in the opposite-field PGA Tour event also sanctioned by the European tour.
Mouw birdied the first three holes and added two more on Nos. 7-8 in a front-nine 30. He birdied Nos. 10, 11, 13 and 17 on the back nine in the lowest score in his brief PGA Tour career.
He's the third rookie to win this season, following Australia's Karl Vilips in the Puerto Rico Open and South African Aldrich Potgieter at the Rocket Classic.
"I knew that if everything clicked and I did the right things, I could go pretty low. I'm just thrilled that it happened," he said.
The 37-year-old Peterson, also making his 20th career PGA Tour start, made a 24-foot birdie putt on 14 and a 30-footer on 16, then parred the final two holes.
European tour player Manuel Elvira was third at 7 under at 66, and Kentucky native Vince Whaley (70) and David Skinns (70) followed at 6 under.

A-League recruit lauded after goal on English debut
Australian new boy Adrian Segecic has made an "unbelievable start" to life in England's Championship, scoring the winner for Portsmouth as they opened the season with a 1-0 win away at Oxford. The passionately supported South Coast side, who have four Aussies on their books, were left hugely enthused on Saturday after their latest recruit, snapped up from Sydney FC in June, capped a fine display with his 38th-minute goal. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder's all-action display, topped by his well-taken bending strike from the edge of the box after a rebound, left Segecic beaming: "To be able to get a goal with three points on debut was an unbelievable start. "I was told on the Friday that I was starting the game, which was great to hear and I couldn't ask for much more." Pompey's manager John Mousinho purred that he wouldn't have fancied having to face the busy youngster. "Segecic was great, not just to get the winning goal but his work rate was superb as well," Mousinho said. "His pressing was great and he picked himself up into some very nice pockets at times, and he took his goal really well, so I was really impressed with him on his debut." After showing plenty of creativity as well as application in the No.10 shirt at Oxford's Kassam Stadium, the famously passionate Pompey fans gave Segecic a rousing reception when he came off in the dying seconds to be replaced by fellow young Aussie Thomas Waddingham. "To go over and celebrate with the fans at the final whistle was amazing," added Segecic, who's hoping a big season in England's second division will help him nail down a place in the Socceroos' World Cup finals squad. He scored 13 goals for the Sky Blues last season, enough to make him the A-League Men's top scorer alongside Archie Goodwin. Portsmouth hold great store by their young Australian talent, with Socceroo Hayden Matthews, an unused sub on Saturday, as well as national under-23 defender Jacob Farrell also on their books. With teams in England's second tier dreaming of starting their push for the Premier League in winning style, ambitious newly promoted Wrexham got a rude awakening at Southampton as they went down 2-1 after two late goals. Wrexham, playing non-league soccer just three years ago until their spectacular rise began under celebrity co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, led at halftime through a Josh Windass penalty. But substitute Ryan Manning, with a stunning free kick, and a Jack Stephens winner six minutes into stoppage time was hardly the sort of Hollywood ending Wrexham have become used to. Ruben Selles' tenure as Sheffield United boss got off to a nightmare start with a 4-1 home defeat by Bristol City, while Harvey Knibbs scored five minutes into stoppage time as Charlton marked their return to the Championship with a 1-0 win over Watford. World champion Luke Littler wins Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong
Teenage world champion Luke Littler has demonstrated his phenomenal talent by winning the star-studded Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong. A year after being humbled in the final of the biggest invitation event to be played in Australia, the 18-year-old from England made no mistake this time. He won all three of his matches convincingly on Saturday night to lift yet another big title. Littler also crushed Damon Heta's homecoming dream as he defeated Australia's top player — the world number 10 — in the quarterfinals. After beating Heta 6-3 in the last eight and Stephen Bunting 7-4 in the semis, Littler outplayed Belgian Mike De Decker to win the final 8-4. In 2024, Littler had lost in the showdown 8-1 to former world champion Gerwyn Price, so was determined to put on a show for his Australian fans on his second visit. "It feels very good. It's another one I can tick off," Littler said after winning a World Series event for the first time in six attempts this year. "I played very well tonight. I didn't play so well last night in the first round but tonight is when it really matters. "It's not gone to plan this year in the World Series but there are plenty of opportunities to win and I've finally picked one up." Littler is chasing a trans-Tasman double when he moves on to the New Zealand Darts Masters. "A few days off and then Auckland, I can't wait," he said of next weekend's event. AAP

Manchester United sign forward Benjamin Sesko: club
Don't miss out on the headlines from Breaking News. Followed categories will be added to My News. Manchester United signed Slovenian international Benjamin Sesko on Saturday, the third forward the 20-time English champions have acquired in the close season. The 22-year-old's arrival from RB Leipzig, in a deal reported to be worth up to £74 million (85 million euros, $99 million), completes an overhaul of the Red Devils' attack that failed to fire last season. "Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Benjamin Sesko has joined the club, subject to registration," read a club statement. The five-year contract includes a guaranteed payment of £66.3million, with the remainder in add-ons, according to reports. Sesko, who has scored 16 goals in 41 international appearances, is United's third major signing in attack following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha for £62.5m and Bryan Mbeumo for £65m with £6m in add-ons. "The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future," said Sesko. 'When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon." Sesko had also been linked with Newcastle, but once again Eddie Howe's League Cup winners failed to land their target despite being able to offer European football this season, unlike Manchester United. Sesko, though, said he felt a vibrancy round the club as they seek to rebound from a desperately disappointing 2024-2025 campaign. "From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created," he said. "It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions. "I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben (Amorim) and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together." pi/gj Originally published as Manchester United sign forward Benjamin Sesko: club
