
Three killed in fiery head-on crash at Grosvenor, west of Bundaberg
Three people have died when a car went up in flames in shocking crash west of Bundaberg.
A red Ford Laser and a grey Mitsubishi Lancer driving in opposite directions crashed head-on on the Burnett Hwy at Grosvenor about 5.05pm on Monday.
The Mitsubishi Lancer was engulfed in flames when paramedics arrived and both people inside could not be saved.
The Ford driver, a 42-year-old woman from Cracow, was treated for life-threatening injuries but also died before she could be taken to hospital.
Police said investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police.
Earlier on Monday, two people were killed in a crash in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
A third person, a 61-year-old man, was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious injuries.
He was later arrested and a homicide investigation launched.

An urgent search has been launched for a 14-year-old girl from NSW, with police and family pleading for public assistance after her social media was 'deactivated' and people trying to contact her have been 'blocked'. Holly Whalan was last seen around 12.15pm on Sunday near High Street, Warialda, which is situated around 350kms north west of Coffs Harbour in NSW. 'We believe she has been taken out of Warialda.' Adding to Ms Whalan's concern, she revealed the when people have tried to contact Holly, they have been 'blocked immediately'. 'Anyone who tries to contact her is blocked immediately,' she wrote 'Her Facebook has been deactivated. 'We are extremely worried for her safety. Please help us bring our baby home. 'If you know something, do the right thing and tell us immediately Holly is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160cm tall, with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes Police say she was last seen wearing a white crop top and black and white tights. NSW Police believe she may be travelling in either a 2015 blue Mitsubishi Lancer, QLD registration 741JD9, or a 2008 silver Audi A3 bearing QLD registration 344GJ6. Two dead, driver charged after car crashes into tree
A man is under police guard in hospital after a car crashed into a tree, killing two elderly people. Police said the 61-year-old man was the driver of a sedan that crashed at Brooloo, north of Brisbane, about 2pm on Monday, sparking a homicide investigation. Officers responding to reports of a single vehicle crash discovered two passengers - an 83-year-old Kandanga man and an 85-year-old Gympie woman - in the severely damaged Suzuki. The elderly man - who was found in the front passenger seat - and the woman sitting in the back died at the scene. The driver was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with serious injuries, police said. He has been charged with two counts of manslaughter and remains under guard at the hospital. He is set to appear via a bedside hearing in Gympie Magistrates Court on Tuesday. Police have appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.
