PETALING JAYA: The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) are confident of securing RM15mil in sponsorship by the end of the year.
FAM marketing and sponsorship committee chairman Datuk Mohd Hisamudin Yahaya revealed that the national body have so far raised between RM7mil and RM8mil through the backing of several sponsors.
With about half the target still to be achieved in the remaining four months, Hisamudin admitted that the association must step up their efforts to meet the goal set by their president.
Hisamudin added that the funds are crucial to cover the expenses of not only the senior national team but also the Under-23 and women's squads.
'We currently have around RM7mil to RM8mil in sponsorship, but we are still short and working to reach the target.
'We already have some initiatives in place and more in the pipeline. For now, we cannot disclose the new measures, but what matters is that the RM15mil target set by the FAM president is met,' said Hisamudin.
FAM yesterday renewed their partnership with isotonic drink brand 100PLUS at Wisma FAM in Kelana Jaya.
Under the renewed deal, 100PLUS will continue as the official isotonic drink partner of the national team for two years, with a total sponsorship worth RM2mil.
Meanwhile, Fraser and Neave (F&N) Holdings Bhd food and industry engagement division managing director Datuk Raffiq Md Ariff said 100PLUS has always remained committed to supporting football in Malaysia.
'We believe the best way to contribute to the growth and development of the sport is through our partnership with FAM. We are pleased with the strong relationship we have built over the years and are delighted to continue this collaboration for another two years,' he said.

Amway profit plunges 90pct as sales slump, costs surge

KUALA LUMPUR: Multi-level marketing group Amway (Malaysia) Holdings Bhd's net profit tumbled 90.1 per cent to RM2.4 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2025 from RM24.5 million a year earlier, dragged by lower sales and higher product costs. Revenue for the quarter slipped 10 per cent to RM266.7 million from RM296.4 million previously, mainly due to lower demand for health and wellness products and home appliances. For the first half of 2025, Amway's net profit fell 72.7 per cent to RM15.6 million, while revenue dropped 9.3 per cent to RM561 million compared with the same period last year. The company said profitability was affected by inflationary pressures that lifted product costs, coupled with subdued consumer sentiment in the current economic climate. Amway expects both revenue and profit to decline for the full year, citing persistent challenges in the business environment. Despite the headwinds, the group said it will continue investing in its health and wellbeing segment through new product launches, ABO-centric programmes, health communities, and infrastructure upgrades. The group declared a second interim dividend of five sen per share, payable on Sept 22.

Compiled by TAN SIN CHOW, DIVYA THERESA RAVI AND R. ARAVINTHAN KOPERASI Nesa Pelbagai Berhad (Nesa) has announced an 8% dividend payout and 20% additional shares for its members for 2024, Malaysia Nanban reported. Its board chairman Datuk Shashi Kumar Pazhaniappan made the announcement during the cooperative's 40th annual delegates convention and 50-year Golden Jubilee celebrations in Seremban on Sunday. He said successful housing schemes in Rantau (Negri Sembilan), Bentong (Pahang) and Kluang (Johor) enabled Nesa to distribute nearly RM2mil to members. The cooperative is also working to increase its holdings from about RM2.5mil to RM3mil while implementing projects in Selama (Perak), Labis (Johor) and other areas. Shashi Kumar said Nesa had also acquired a hotel in Seremban and might run it directly in the future. Currently, the business is leased to an operator. He said the cooperative's projects, together with strong support from shareholders and delegates, had allowed it to provide education assistance for members' children. The cooperative is also looking to start a medical insurance programme for its members, he added.
