They claimed a derby triumph in their low-scoring Division Two tussle away at Marchwiel and Wrexham, who were dismissed for 77.
Three wickets apiece went the way of Nathan Humphreys, Tom Parry and Tom Davies.
Earlier in the day, Marchwiel's Phil Oddie (3-11) and Sam Shoemark (3-13) impressed as Llay were all out for 111.
Maximum points went the way of Buckley following their thumping 115-run triumph against Pwllheli.
Carl Jutson (46), Jack Whitley (44) and Rocco Franco (36) were the main contributors as Buckley got to 202 for nine in their 40 overs. Adam Shaw (3-3), Matthew Blunden (3-17) and Ollie Fellows (3-19) then took centre stage to bowl Pwllheli out for 87.
Carmel & District's lengthy trek to Menai Bridge Seconds was a worthwhile one as they returned with a hefty 94-run triumph.
Ryan Roberts' knock of 30 spear-headed a number of double-figure efforts as Carmel compiled 172 all out (Sean Morris 5-34).
Amer Jamil finished with a fantastic 5-9 return in Bridge's 78 all out.
It was a tough start for Pontblyddyn Seconds, who succumbed to a 10-wicket reverse at Corwen.
Jordan Williams snaffled a magnificent 7-9 in Pontblyddyn's 35 all out, with Corwen responding with 38 without loss (Rob Storey 33 not out).
Elsewhere, Abergele got the better of St Asaph Seconds by six wickets.
Aron Hughes hit 50 not out as Llanrwst eased to an eight-wicket win at Ruthin.
Mold Seconds' Division Three tilt opened in promising fashion via a 119-run margin of victory at home to Conwy Seconds.
Joseff Roberts (42), David Graham (40) and Liam Roberts (33 not out) hit the ground running in Mold's imposing 213 for eight.
Conwy's response finished on 94 for nine, as Thomas Garratt grabbed 3-3. Three wickets each also went the way of Dan Jones and Craig Roberts.
A good effort from Gwersyllt Park Seconds resulted in a six-wicket home triumph against Bethesda Seconds, who were bowled out for 94 (Ben Griffiths 4-41). Park then eased their way to 95 for four.
Buckley Seconds secured a five-wicket success at Abergele Seconds. Three wickets apiece from Joe Hogg and Tim Pool did the bulk of the damage as Abergele were dismissed for 83, before Buckley responded with 87 for five.
Despite a sparking century from skipper George Morris, Gresford Seconds lost out by seven wickets at Denbigh Seconds.
Mighty Morris cracked 108 not out in Gresford's 165 for six, but Andy Thomas' knock of 63 helped Denbigh to a winning 167 for three (Matthew McCarthy 2-19).

A win for Buckley who are flying high in Division Two
Supun Eranga top scored with 47 as Carmel posted 136 for seven in their 40 overs with Jack Gibson taking 4-17. Although their two openers went cheaply, Buckley triumphed with 139 for seven with Danny Peover (33), Chris Geary (52) and Jack Whitley (24) seeing them home. It proved to be enough as Pont were stopped on 118 with only Dave Evans (32) offering any resistance. Ruthin (87) went down by six wickets to Pwllheli (89 for four) while Buckley Seconds are up to second in Division Three following a five wickets victory at Bersham. Santhu Kj made 41 in Bersham's score of 169 with Mathew Edge and Tom Pool claiming three victims apiece and Edge than smashed 50 not out in Buckley's 174 for five. Leaders Denbigh seconds (202 for eight) triumphed by 89 runs at Bethesda with Finlay Rooke Hart (39) and John Lloyd-Williams (3-9) starring with bat and ball. Mold Seconds, in third place, won by four wickets against Caernarfon who reached 183 for six in their spell at the crease, Grant Peisley hitting 47 as Henry Roberts and David Graham both took two wickets. Daniel Williams (48) and Graham (66no) led Mold to 187 for six and victory while fourth-placed Gwersyllt Park Seconds overcame Abergele by 10 runs. Abergele were dismissed for 136 chasing Gwersyllt's score of 146 for nine. Ted Pearson (40) and Ollie Griffiths (3-8) starred for Gwersyllt. Gresford Seconds triumphed by seven wickets at Llandudno Seconds who made 164 for six. Opener Gez Jones then smashed 104 not out in Gresford's 167 for three, while Hawarden Park Seconds (121) lost by 31 runs at Conwy Seconds (152 for nine) despite the best efforts of Owen Ford (3-20) and Thomas Phillips (3-24). In Division Four, leaders Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn won by 137 runs at Carmel and District seconds after making 194 for six, Umang Desai (42) and Abs Dey (40) the top scorers. Carmel were all out for 57 with Naseer Ahmadzai taking 3-7. Second placed Brymbo Thirds triumphed by 65 runs against Dolgellau Seconds after posting 165 for eight. Dolgellau could only muster 100 for five, Charlie Croasdale (52) starring for Brymbo. Halkyn Seconds (41 for two) are third following an eight wickets success over Bersham seconds (40) as Sam Hamilton (4 for 15) and Aaron Thomas (32no) impressed, and Marchwiel and Wrexham Seconds won by four runs at Bala after making 152 for eight (Nick Husbands 42). Bala were stopped short on 148 for nine with Anthony Morris taking 5-11. Ruthin Seconds (220 for 0) triumphed by eight wickets at Pwllheli seconds (216 for three) who had Neil Murray-Williams making 105 not out but he was trumped by Toby Unsworth who cracked an unbeaten 125. Northop Thirds still lead the way in the Sunday East Division. Josh Callan (3-4) starred to bowl out Buckley Thirds for 65 in a six wicket win. Connah's Quay Thirds are six points behind in second place after a seven wicket win at Corwen Seconds. Liam Cappiello, who also top scored in Quay's 103 for three, and Andy Evans took three wickets each as Corwen were dismissed for 102. Northop Hall Fourths were also seven wicket winners against Hawarden Park Fourths, who were skittled for 105 (Matthew Leek 30, Mason Andrews 3-31, Oliver Jenkins 3-18). Aaron Wimbush top scored with an unbeaten 41 in Hall's 106 for three. Callum Ferguson hit a brilliant unbeaten 101 in Halkyn's 205 for two against Brymbo Fourths, who replied with 171 for six.

Things are going so well for Northop Hall and Chirk sides
Following on from a testing start to the campaign, Chirk have picked up back-to-back triumphs in the Shropshire League. Meanwhile, Northop Hall are targeting promotion from Division Two of the Liverpool Competition and after losing out in their first contest of the summer, Ben Slater's side have triumphed in each of their match-ups since then. Last time out, it was a North Wales derby triumph for Hall in their meeting against Prestatyn. Paul Jenkins was on the money with a four for one return as Prestatyn were skittled for just 69. 'It was just job done in the end,' said captain Ben Slater. 'It was quite humid, so the ball was swinging early. But after 15 overs, that died down.' Northop Hall head to Stockport Trinity seeking to bag their fifth win on the bounce and keep them within sight of the promotion places. Slater is taking nothing for granted and he stressed: 'Southport Trinity will be a decent outfit. 'We have always had good competition when we've gone there. They do know how to win.' Matty Jones, who is enjoying a great season with the bat, returns to Northop Hall's line-up. Northop Hall Seconds will aim to make the most of home comforts as they tackle Spring View Seconds. A more settled side is playing its part in an upturn of fortunes for Chirk, who go to Shifnal Seconds tomorrow in Division One of the Shropshire League. 'It's two out of two and it's been two good games,' said skipper Liam Walker. 'We played really well on Saturday versus Frankton. 'We have bowled and fielded well in the last couple of weeks. Having a full side has certainly made a difference.' Looking to follow up wins over Oswestry and Frankton with another success, Walker added: 'I think Shifnal will be strong. They're always a decent side. They have got some good experience there and we are looking forward to it. We think we will be okay team wise.' Chirk Seconds host Quatt Thirds.

'Marathon' mindset helped transform Notts

"The most committed, the most skilful and the most at-it sides are the ones that win the championship."This year is a chance to try achieve something really special and win a championship."There are some really good teams in the division - Surrey being the one that everyone feels they have to beat - but we have proven to ourselves that we are a really good team and we can take on anyone if we play to the potential we have in the last few weeks."
