OTT platforms have indeed reshaped the definition of stardom. Well, earlier, it was believed that streaming platforms were just for unconventional actors. However, today, A-listers have too joined the digital game, outshining all the boundaries and earning a staggering amount from web shows and movies.
Today, we will discuss about this Bollywood actor who has emerged as India's highest-paid OTT star, earning over Rs 100 crore from a single series. In 2021, he ventured into the digital space and charged a staggering Rs 125 crore for the seven-episode series- Rudra: Edge of Darkness. Yes, he is none other than Ajay Devgn. Starring as a cop on the show, he reportedly charged Rs 18 crore per episode, the highest ever in the OTT space.
According to reports, his salary beats other Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan who charges Rs 90-100 crore for their films. Well, Devgn's fees was justified by the extended screen time, as the series was equal to two feature-length films. Moreover, he had an extended contract with Disney+ Hotstar, which included cross-promotional activities, social media campaigns and appearances on reality shows.
Also, Saif Ali Khan, who became the first Bollywood actor to enter the OTT space with Sacred Games , charged way less than Ajay. He was reportedly paid Rs 15-20 crore, for the last season of Sacred Games. Moreover, other Bollywood stars like Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui commanded their spots too on the list of India's richest OTT stars. The rise of digital platforms have given these actors to not just showcase their talent but also earn competitive paychecks.
Meanwhile, coming back to Ajay, his last on-screen presence was in Raid 2. Moreover, he has several projects in his pipeline, including Son of Sardaar 2, De De Pyaar De 2 and Dhamaal 4.

He said, he is a successful businessman and has earned a lot of money for himself. He shared, 'I have had a successful jewellery business for a long time. Yes, I am fortunate that a lot of it was given to me because it was my company, it was my parents' company. A lot of it was handed to me on a plate, but even in that scenario, I had to prove myself–that I can sell jewellery. Acting or production, YouTube just happened recently. This is just a passion project that I can afford to give time to because I have other ventures. I am a successful investor. I have earned a lot of money on my own and I am very proud of that fact.' Rajeev also addressed questions around him living with his mother. He said, 'If my mother ever asked me to leave the house, I would do so and be on the street.' You people don't even have the worth of Rs 10.' He also addressed the questions about him not providing financial help to his ex-wife and daughter Ziana. 'It is my personal life. Sushmita Sen's brother Rajeev Sen breaks silence on allegations made by ex-wife Charu Asopa and not being able to meet daugter Ziana: 'We are both difficult people'
Sushmita Sen 's brother Rajeev Sen and actress Charu Asopa separated leaving fans quite heartbroken. Charu has now moved to Bikaner and said that she moved there because she cannot affort to stay in Mumbai. She had said in an interview, "I have shifted to my hometown Bikaner, Rajasthan. I have left Mumbai for now, and I am currently living with my parents. It's been more than a month since Ziana and I moved here." She also indicated that she's not getting any money from ex-husband Rajeev Sen to raise their daughter Ziana. Rajeev who has a Youtube channel has now reacted to Charu's allegations and said that due to her shifting to Bikaner, their daughter Ziana is suffering. He said, "Charu ne decision liya of moving to Bikaner joh mujhe bohot odd lagaa because she made a bold decision in a short time. She belongs to Bikaner but she took a big step in a short time. I didn't understand it. This was her decision. The reason she gave us was a financial problem and that she couldn't afford Mumbai. People asked me if I'm helping Charu financially for Ziana. It's a private thing. I am not answerable to anyone about the money I give. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo I won't stoop down to the level where I show my bank statements to everyone about how much money I've given." She added, "Do you think she cannot afford to stay in Mumbai? I know people with a salary of Rs 40-50k thousand with three children who are living in Mumbai. Having said that, I feel Charu will come back to Mumbai. She will keep getting work opportunities here so it doesn't make sense to stay in Bikaner." He reacted to the video of Charu selling clothes online and said, "I saw that video and I'm proud of her because koi bhi kaam chhota ya bada nahi hota (Every work should be respected. No work is big or small). But I wonder why was she dressed like that? She is always well dressed in all her vidoes but here, there is no make-up and she's not dressed up. Charu has never dressed up like this. 9 out of 10 times, she's well dressed with make-up. So that video of her selling clothes seemed like a set-up. Charu doesn't behave like this." Further talking about their relationship Rajeev said, "Kisi bhi relationship mein dekhoge, specially celebrity relationships that aadmi ko bohot jaldi villain banaa diya jaata hai. I'm not perfect. I will never say that Charu only has flaws and I'm innocent. I will never say that. We are just two difficult people. If you think Charu is innocent, that's not the case. Neither am I innocenent. We are all humans. We make mistakes. But koi bhi insaan ek ko bhagwaan banaade aur doosre ko giraake toh it's not logical." Talking about not spending time with their daughter Ziana, Rajeev said, "Chaahe beshak charu Bikaner chali gayi hu, I can go to meet my daughter Ziana. But I feel there has to be a healthy communication. She loves her daughter as much as I love. She's fortunate that she can spend time with her but I cannot spend time, especially now because she has moved out of Mumbai. But efforts have to come from both ends for the well-being of the child, without ego. We need to be giving each other respect." He further said, "The woman will always have a bigger role to play, especially when the child is with her. I have very limited resources. I can only do video calls, or I can go meet her (Ziana). More than anything else, I feel very bad for Ziana. At least if nothing else, there was no need for Charu to leave Bombay. Because ghoom phir kea ap log dekh lena, she will come back to Bombay. And I'm not saying for me. She will come back, she will settle down again here. " Rajeev also revealed what went wrong between them. "Charu will never say this because she thinks she is always right and I'm always wrong. He said, "We were two strong headed individuals. Ek dusre ko samajh nahi paaye. Ek dusre ko respect nahi kar paaye. Pyaar toh bohot tha. But I feel like whatever happened was for the highest good. For her and for me. When it comes to Ziana, if Charu genuinely wants a father's love for her daughter, she needs to play the bigger role because Ziana is with her. "
