1. PEYTON HOUSTON
Houston lived up to the billing during Sunday's camp. He's not the biggest quarterback you'll find but the traits are there for him to be a great one. The ball jumps out of his hand and he had good accuracy on his passes all camp. Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M, USC and LSU are all in the mix for him. He was wearing a Georgia towel while lighting it up in Dallas.
2. MALACHI ZEIGLER
The No. 45 prospect in the 2027 Rivals250 really caught my attention on Sunday. His size jumps out first but his ability to throw the ball is excellent. When his footwork and timing is in rhythm it's hard to find many quarterbacks that look better than him. Zeigler got better as the camp went on and very well could have been the MVP.

Tennessee and Florida State are two of his most recent offers. The Vols would be an intriguing fit for his skill set but there is a long way to go in his recruitment.
3. JERRY MEYER III
The 2027 four-star anticipates very well and delivers an accurate, catchable ball. He was consistently on target all camp long especially on short and intermediate routes. While he is not an overwhelming threat with his legs, he does move around well in the pocket and throws it well on the run.
He's got close to 20 scholarship offers from around the country including Florida State, SMU and Ole Miss.
4. BRAYLEN WARREN
Warren has had a good offseason. He's up to 11 offers now with the most recent ones coming from Cal, Illinois and Iowa. The Omaha native showed us the accuracy on Sunday that helped him win the Elite 11 accuracy challenge in Nashville. He's got a good frame and throws a tight spiral, too. It's easy to see why college coaches have been impressed seeing him throw.

Kansas State, Iowa State and Illinois have been most consistent with recruiting him recently. His recruitment will continue to pick up steam through the summer as he camps.
5. QUINN MURPHY
The three-star Baylor commit was one of the top quarterbacks at camp on Sunday. Murphy was a little inconsistent on the day but when he was on, things looked great. He's got a strong arm and throws an accurate deep ball. I like the way that he throws with anticipation as well. Murphy is a good athlete that can extend plays with his legs or even pick up yards on the ground after scrambles.

Louisville makes 6th CWS with 3-2 win over Miami on King's RBI double in 7th

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Eddie King Jr. doubled in the winning run in the seventh inning to lift Louisville to a 3-2 win over Miami on Sunday, advancing the Cardinals to their sixth College World Series. King's clutch hit came after Jake Munroe's two-out single and a wild pitch. Advertisement Neither team was among the top 16 seeds, but the Cardinals (39-21) were the surprise winners of the Nashville Regional hosted by overall No. 1 seed Vanderbilt and Miami won Southern Mississippi's Hattiesburg Regional. Louisville will face the Oregon State-Florida State winner in Omaha, Nebraska, later this week. Miami (34-26) was hoping for its 26th CWS appearance. Miami took the lead on Max Galvin's two-run homer in the third. The Cardinals got those back in the fourth on an RBI double by Zion Rose and a fielder's choice. Miami starter Ethan Eberle went five innings, allowing six hits. Jake Schweitzer (4-2) gave up two hits and two walks in three innings. Justin West got two outs in the ninth but also walked two before Brennyn Cutts got a flyout for his second save. Will Smith (3-1), the third of five Miami pitchers, took the loss. ___ AP college sports:

Cubs to 'Aggressively' Pursue Starting Pitching and Bullpen at Trade Deadline

Cubs to 'Aggressively' Pursue Starting Pitching and Bullpen at Trade Deadline originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After a strong start to the 2025 season, the Chicago Cubs are sitting atop the National League Central. The reason for such early-season success has been the incredible offense the Cubs have put together. But, there is still a need to improve the pitching staff, both in the rotation and the bullpen. Advertisement According to a new report from Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Cubs are expected to be one of the most aggressive teams at the MLB trade deadline. Nighengale writes, "The Cubs are seeking a front-line starter and relievers," as the teams trade targets. With Justin Steele done for the year, Javier Assad dealing with a setback in his recovery, and Shota Imanaga also banged up, the Cubs have a clear need in the starting rotation. There may not be a lot of options on the table at starting pitcher, but the Cubs have the Minor League prospects to beat out the competition for a top-of-the-line starter available on the market. Chicago Cubs pitcher Justin Steele (35) looks on after throwing a pitch against the Athletics during the second inning at Sutter Health Szczepanski-Imagn Images After Corbin Burnes suffered a season-ending injury, the Arizona Diamondbacks could move Zac Gallen or Merrill Kelly at the trade deadline. If the Boston Red Sox fall out of it, they could move Walker Buehler. There will be options available, but the Cubs will have competition for those arms. Advertisement The same goes for the Cubs' desire to aggressively pursue bullpen help. This comes after the Cubs' bullpen had the best ERA in baseball among bullpens in May, with an impressive 2.37 ERA. Even more impressive, the Cubs' bullpen since April 19th has been the best in baseball, allowing the lowest ERA (2.46), the fewest home runs allowed (7), the lowest batting average (.191), and the lowest WHIP (1.04). Despite the Cubs' bullpen putting together such a strong stretch, there is still concern over the long-term viability of the bullpen. Adding an arm, especially a top-end talent like Mason Miller or Pete Fairbanks, would elevate the Cubs' bullpen ever further. After a great start to the year, the Cubs are expected to be aggressive at the MLB trade deadline. With a stacked offense, the Cubs will look to improve their bullpen and add one of the top starting pitchers available on the market.
