'Pakistan Hacked IPL Floodlights, Released Waters In Dam': Khawaja Asif's Viral Bizarre Claim

Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has sparked widespread ridicule after claiming in Parliament that Pakistani "cyber warriors" were behind a blackout during an IPL 2025.
Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif is being mocked after he claimed his country's 'cyber warriors" hacked floodlights during Indian Premier League (IPL) matches.
In a video, widely being shared on social media, Asif could also be saying that his 'cyber warriors" also accessed Indian dam gates as part of a cyber attack on India.
Speaking in the national assembly, Asif said, 'The IPL was stopped and the lights of the stadium were turned off, waters in the dams were released, all these cyber attacks were done by our children."
Asif's comments came more than a month after India launched 'Operation Sindoor' on the intervening night of May 6 and 7, against Pakistan, in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 tourists.
'I didn't know Cyber has different concepts and syllabus in Pakistan!" another comment read.
'IPL floodlights don't run on WiFi, they run on secure electrical systems. You can't hack them like a home router. Next time, try hacking the scoreboard—at least it has buttons," a third user commented on the viral video.
'Even China and the USA are asking – How did Pakistanis do this magic?" another one commented.
The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala was called off on Thursday (May 8) after just 10.1 overs of action.
Later, in an official statement, BCCI revealed the decision was taken due to a power outage caused by a significant technical failure in the area and regretted the inconvenience caused to the in-stadium attendees.
Before their official statement, reports claimed that the floodlights went dim at the venue midway due to security reasons following air raid alerts in nearby areas amid escalating tensions on the India-Pakistan border, which forced a blackout in the hill town.

The former England pacer had multiple battles with Tendulkar and Kohli, of course, during different stages of his career. In fact, more than Tendulkar, his face-offs against Kohli made engaging headlines in the 2010s. 15 Test matches across eight years. That's how much history Kohli and Anderson shared. Recalling his battles against Kohli and Tendulkar, when asked who is the most difficult batter to bowl to, Anderson picked Virat. Everyone remembers Kohli's maiden Test tour of England in 2014 and how Anderson introduced to the world Virat's vulnerability against balls outside off stump. After 134 runs in four Tests, Kohli made a stunning comeback in 2018, plundering 697 runs and keeping Anderson wicketless against him. With Kohli, there was definitely a shift. Found him a very difficult player to bowl at because he had that steely mindset, wanted to get into a battle. He's very competitive and after that initial success, it was very difficult to bowl against." Anderson and Kohli had a go at each other on numerous instances, none more so talked about than what transpired four years ago during the Lord's Test. After Jasprit Bumrah had peppered Anderson with six short-pitched deliveries in an over, and then some, the England pacer responded with a few verbal volleys. So much so that Kohli, while at the non-striker end, told Anderson 'You swearing at me? Just like you did against Jasprit? This isn't your fu**ing backyard." With Tendulkar, things weren't as hot-headed. "Kohli was a slightly different character than Sachin. Sachin was very mild, mannered; very calm at the crease. Virat was more expressive with his emotions. Wore them on his sleeves and you can kind of see it. In his captaincy, when he celebrated his wickets. I tried as much as I could to get that feeling out of the equation and just try to think of him as a batter and not too much about who it was. It was difficult at times; we had many battles on the field," pointed out Anderson. "I definitely had more verbal battles with Virat than with Sachin. With Sachin I tried not to. He was certainly at a different stage in his career when I played against him. He had this sort of God-like presence, and how he was held in India. It was incredible how the fans treated him and looked up to him. But as Virat's career went on, that became more and more like that for him. But at the start of his career, it wasn't quite intimidating.

D. Deepesh and Naman Pushpak drafted into India U19 squad for England tour
D. Deepesh and Naman Pushpak have been drafted into India men's U19 squad for the upcoming tour of England, scheduled to happen from June 24 to July 23. Both Deepesh and Naman were part of the standby players' list for the tour, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said the duo come into the main squad as replacements for Aditya Rana and Khilan Patel. 'Aditya sustained a stress fracture in his lower back, while Khilan suffered a stress reaction in his right leg during the ongoing high-performance camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence,' said the BCCI in a statement on Monday. A comprehensive national policy beyond party lines

Not stopping there, it suspended the 'Indus Water Treaty' signed with Pakistan in the 1960s. In response to 'Operation Sindoor', Pakistan made several simultaneous missile attacks on India. All these attacks were foiled by India's anti-missile system. In response, India attacked some Pakistani air bases. India took limited military action to teach a lesson to Pakistan's rulers and military leaders. After this action, the Modi government decided to send a delegation of MPs from all parties as well as former ambassadors and politicians to various countries. Accordingly, a delegation of 59 people visited 32 countries. The delegation briefed various countries on Pakistan's direct link to the Pahalgam attack, the terrorist camps destroyed in Operation Sindoor, and the subsequent airstrikes on Pakistani military locations. The delegation recently returned to India. In order to ensure that India does not fall short in diplomacy along with its strong military policies, the Modi government decided to send an all-party delegation. With the broad vision of national interest, MPs from all parties chose to forget party differences and proudly represented their motherland on the international platform. This incident became a testimony to the mature foreign policy of the Modi government. MPs like AIMIM's Owaisi, Congress's Salman Khurshid, Anand Sharma, Manish Tiwari, Supriya Sule, DMK's Kanimozhi, who have been strongly critical of the Modi government and the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership on many issues, represented this delegation and presented India's side to the world very effectively. Former External Affairs Minister and Congress MP Shashi Tharoor led the delegation. By entrusting the leadership of this delegation to Tharoor, who has a deep knowledge of international politics, the Modi government showed its 'national interest is paramount' approach. Some groups tried to play parochial politics around the topic of this delegation. However, after realizing the angry and dissatisfied sentiments of the public about this, these groups did not prolong their ill experiments for long. In fact, while there was consensus between the ruling and opposition parties on this issue, there was no reason for some parties to assert political influence in the composition of the delegation. Congress had nominated four party members to participate in these delegations. Except for Anand Sharma, the government did not give a place to the other three. Instead, Shashi Tharoor was appointed as the head of the delegation. Congress was displeased by this. Tharoor has vast experience in diplomacy at the international level. Congress should have proposed Tharoor's name to the government on its own. However, due to opposition from some within the party to Tharoor's name, the Congress sent Sharma's name. The Congress leadership failed to realise that in such a situation, one should not be indulging in shallow party politics. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who also holds the position of Opposition Leader in the Lok Sabha, had demanded that the government should declare how many Indian aircrafts were shot down in 'Operation Sindoor'. This shows that Rahul Gandhi's shallowness has not subsided still. Congressmen are also waiting to see when Rahul Gandhi will have the wisdom to realize that by making such a demand, he is defaming his own country on the international stage. It was because of this stance that Congress's discord became public after Tharoor was assigned the leadership of the delegation. If the Modi government had included only BJP and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs in the delegation, the Congress's opposition would have been understandable. When that did not happen, the Congress leadership baselessly and unnecessarily blamed the Modi government on the delegation issue. There was no reason for Congress to be so hesitant about Tharoor's inclusion. This made a mockery of the Congress party. Tharoor has been openly praising the Modi government on various platforms after 'Operation Sindoor'. Some Congress leaders also complained about Tharoor over this. It was not expected that on one hand Rahul Gandhi would ask questions like how many Indian aircrafts have fallen down while on the other hand he would show the generosity of supporting the all-party delegation. As expected, this stance of Rahul Gandhi was well received in Pakistan. Terrorist leaders like Hafiz Saeed showered Rahul Gandhi with praise. India decided to call a ceasefire after receiving a proposal from Pakistan. Rahul tried to politicize that too. The Pakistan government itself has given information about which of its military bases were damaged due to India's attack. Despite the fact that Pakistan, which claims to have shot down Indian planes, has not been able to produce a single piece of evidence, Rahul Gandhi continues to trumpet and ask about how many Indian planes have been shot down.
