The planned closure period is through the summer of 2027.
The Improve I-70 KC project focuses on the five-mile stretch of Interstate 70 in Kansas City between The Paseo Blvd. and US 40/31 St. This section of I-70, according to Missouri Department of Transportation.
The $237 million project will upgrade connectivity in areas with high traffic congestion during rush hours and traffic incidents by replacing aging infrastructure. Twenty-six bridges and twelve interchanges will be replaced or refurbished as part of this project.
MoDOT said the project will improve the safety and reliability of this section of I-70.
