Housefull 5 Day 2 Box Office Trends: Akshay Kumar starrer aims for 35 percent jump on Bakri Eid
After scoring a good start of Rs 22.00 crore on Friday, the Akshay Kumar-led comic caper, Housefull 5 is seeing a jump in business on Saturday. According to very early trends, the business is up by 35-40 percent, indicating second-day business in the range of Rs 29.00 crore to Rs 31.00 crore. This takes the two-day total of Housefull 5 to Rs 52 crore, and the movie is targeting opening weekend collections in the vicinity of of Rs 85 crore mark.
The second-day business of Housefull 5 is seeing a normal-than-usual jump for a mass-reliant film owing to the Bakri Eid holiday. Centers like Gujarat, Rajasthan, UP, and Bihar are showing positive signs for the film to have legs in the long run. The report seems to be fine among the audience, as a film with negative reports would never show a spike in business even on a holiday, as it has been the case with many feature films in the post pandemic world.
The Akshay Kumar film is scoring high occupancies in Mumbai and Delhi as well, and a reasonable hold on Monday will spell a success story for this Sajid Nadiadwala-produced comic caper. Talking of national chains, the film has grossed Rs 9.01 crore at 3 PM on Saturday, as compared to Rs 7.25 crore on Friday at the same time. The business is up by 25 percent until 3 PM, and the same is expected to escalate towards the 30 percent mark by end of the day. Non national chains like MovieMax, Rajhans, and Miraj are show better gains than the national chains, and this was very much expected, given the target audience and appeal of Housefull 5.
From here, if the film manages to show even a 10 percent spike on Sunday, it is set for a rather healthy run at the box office, as rarely do films showcase an upward swing on Sunday, coming off a Holiday on Saturday. One must note that these are estimates based on very very early trends, and the actuals could vary depending on the performance towards the late evening and night shows. The same shall be duly updated on the website.
Here's a look at day wise box office collections of Housefull 5
Friday: Rs 22.00 crore
Saturday: Rs 30.00 crore (Expected)
Total: Rs 52.00 crore

Housefull 5 box office collection day 2:Tarun Mansukhani's ensemble film Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar, Nargis Fakhri, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh and Soundarya Sharma as the leads is doing well at the box office in India. According to Sacnilk, the film has collected ₹54 crore net in India so far. (Also Read: Housefull 5 worldwide box office collection day 1: Akshay Kumar film beats Sooryavanshi opening at ₹40 crore) The website reports that Housefull 5 collected ₹24 crore net in India and ₹40 crore worldwide on its opening day. On its first Saturday, the film brought in an estimated ₹30 crore net, taking its total collection so far to ₹54 crore approximately. The film registered an overall 33.18% occupancy, with numbers growing as the day progressed. Interestingly, the film showed good occupancy in cities like Chennai too, which had a 52% occupancy. Given that the film also has Sunday to bank on before weekdays hit, it remains to be seen how much the film collects in its first weekend. The film has been marketed with two different climaxes – Housefull 5 A and B – which also seems to be working in its favour. Talking about shooting two different endings, Tarun told ANI it was challenging and said, 'Sajid (Sajid Nadiadwala) sir had this idea about 30 years ago. And finally, he brought it to Housefull 5. And that was one of the most exciting things for me as a director to make a film with two different climaxes.' He added, 'At that point in time, it sounds very exciting and you feel very challenged and want to make it as a filmmaker. But when you come down to doing it actually on set, then you realise the real challenges.' Fardeen Khan, Chitrangada Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjit and Nikitin Dheer also star in the fifth film of the popular franchise.

Mahim residents urge revival of Haj ships as cruise terminal opens
In a touching scene from the 1983 blockbuster Coolie, protagonist Iqbal (Amitabh Bachchan) plans to go for Haj and pray for the recovery of his seriously ill mother. However, just before boarding the passenger ship for Jeddah, he is stopped from travelling as he is suffering from a fever. Iqbal gives his ticket to a poor, old man and sends him off for Haj on his behalf, crooning the devotional number: 'Mubarak ho tum sabko Haj ka mahina...' The movie's script blocked Iqbal from boarding the ship for Haj. In real life, however, a group of Mahim residents have petitioned the govt to restart passenger ships to Saudi Arabia for Haj pilgrimage. As the annual Haj for 2025 concluded this past week, the Mahim Residents' Group reiterated their old demand. The recent inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Mazagon has rekindled their hopes. "Haj pilgrimage through the sea route was stopped in 1995 as the govt wanted pilgrims to travel by air and the travel was subsidised. Now the pilgrimage by flights has become costlier and poor pilgrims cannot afford it. Travel by ships will substantially reduce the cost," says Irfan Machiwala, one of the residents who is joined by Farooque Dhala, Syed M Ismail, and Syed Gulzar Ranam. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Scam Exposed: What They Won't Tell You about zero trust! Expertinspector Click Here Undo The advocates for restarting passenger ships for Haj cite a 2018 statement of then Union Minorities Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, where the minister said that the govt wanted to start Mumbai-Jeddah cruise ship services to ferry Haj pilgrims as a pilot project. "But the plan got shelved," says Dhala. In 2023, the residents wrote to the Maharashtra CM, PMO, Ministry of Minority Affairs, and even sought help from some MPs. On May 5, 2023, in a letter to Sarbananda Sonowal, then minister of ports, shipping, and waterways, Shiv Sena MP Gajanan Kirtikar wrote: "Poor Muslim pilgrims would have to pay much less for travel to Jeddah than they pay for airfares and it would be helpful in cutting down the Haj and Umrah cost. As part of the new Haj policy, the Modi govt planned 15 cruise trips for pilgrims from 2018 onwards. " It was the famous Khandwani family in Mahim that pioneered the commercial ships for Haj during the First World War. In 1914, four brothers, Abdullahmian Khandwani, Dadamian Khandwani, Mohammedmian Khandwani, and Abbamian Khandwani, bought three German ships and created the Khandwani Steam Navigation Company. In an article on the Khandwanis, journalist M A Siraj says that for the 10-day voyage from Bombay to Jeddah, the Khandwanis would charge up to Rs 210, with the price going down to Rs 10 per passenger, depending on the economic condition of the pilgrims. "The booking manager had instructions to insist on people paying according to their status, more in line with the spirit of the Hajj. But they must... It would take the ships ten days to ferry the pilgrims to Jeddah," writes Siraj. Sohail Khandwani, a descendant of the family, businessman, and managing trustee of Mahim and Haji Ali Dargahs, who lives in the iconic beachside villa, Khandwani House, in Mahim, says: "I feel privileged that my forebears pioneered the commercial ships for Haj pilgrimage. The govt should restart if it is viable today." Sohail's uncle Amin Khandwani, chairman of the Haj Committee of India (1982-89), told Siraj in an interview in 2005 that his grandfather Abba Mian Khandwani "would tie a talisman on the mast and sail off for Jeddah. " We speak to Asif Dadarkar, who owns a shipping company and whose uncle Mohammed Saeed Dadarkar was general manager at Mogul Lines Ltd, which operated two ships, MV Noorjahan and MV Akbar, to ferry Haj pilgrims. "Ferrying Haj pilgrims alone will not be commercially viable unless they are subsidised and allowed to cruise to other ports," says Dadarkar. Whether or not the govt restarts passenger ships for Haj by reintroducing a subsidy, for now the residents are keeping the faith.

Is it worth watching Akshay Kumar-Abhishek Bachchan's Housefull 5B after 5A? The only difference is…
Housefull 5, released on 6th June, 2025, features large stellar star cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. Meanwhile, the makers have strategically released it in two different formats, which is A and B. We are going to tell you whether you should watch the B version after completing its A part, or not. Housefull Series Continues Its Cringefest As per the reviews, this film is just another example of why you should not touch iconic franchises and let it rest forever, because after its second installment, this franchise has presented nothing except ample amount of cringe jokes and piss poor writing, handled by Farhad Samji who can now apply to enter his name in Guiness Book of World Records for making films pathetic. The entire film offers you nothing except sleazy jokes and a male-centered environment where female actresses were only kept for objectifying their body parts, which the writer thinks will make the audience sit and watch. This multi-starrer project is a complete waste of opportunity and a lesson for other filmmakers, because here, captain of this ship, Tarun Mansukhani , has tried to fit every actor in any scene without logic, which underutilized their actual potential. This film tries hard to make us laugh with its jokes and sequences, but fails. However, Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt tried hard to bring their old comic avatar back on the big screen, but due to a lack of writing and delivery, it always bounced back. The Difference between 5A and 5B There is no difference between the parts, except the last 8 minutes. In Part A, killers are someone else, while in Part B, just to show the potential of an actress, makers have made another actor a killer. If you have already watched part A, then you don't need to witness this cringefest again; you can wait for its OTT release. At last, we just want to say that Bollywood should now learn from their mistakes because it's high time to prove the potential otherwise due to these kind of films and their ventures, we don't witness finest and best comedy-drama films.
