PM: Madani government is strong due to unity among coalition partners
While each party within the Madani government may hold different beliefs and stances, their unity and cooperation remain exemplary, he said.
"Alhamdulillah, although we are a coalition of parties with different stances and beliefs, the spirit to develop the country makes the cooperation and spirit extraordinary.
"I want to thank Deputy Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Dr) Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (Barisan Nasional Chairman), (Datuk Seri) Fadillah Yusof (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) and all other colleagues for their unwavering spirit of unity," he said.
The prime minister said this at the Kenduri Rakyat programme held in conjunction with the Madani Ukhwah programme and the Madani Government Administration and Parliamentarians' Retreat in Kampung Pachitan here today.
Also present were Anwar's wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, and both deputy prime ministers, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
Also present were the cabinet members and MPs from the Madani government, including Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Port Dickson MP Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, who is also Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar.
Anwar the Madani government is a caring administration that remains committed to listening to and understanding the voices of the people.
He said that although the country's macroeconomic indicators reflect positive trends, such as increased investment and a declining unemployment rate, the government is fully aware that many challenges persist at the grassroots level.
"In terms of macroeconomics, we are seeing improved performance, stronger investment inflows, and a reduction in the unemployment rate.
"However, I am fully aware that many people at the grassroots level are still facing hardships.
"That is why the Madani government is a government that cares... We have to listen to the people's voices, don't leave the norm, don't ignore the voices of the grassroots," he said.
A total of 143 MPs participated in the Madani government Leadership Ukhuwah Programme held in conjunction with the Madani government Administration and Parliamentarians' Retreat here.

Yusuf Islam, the British musician formerly known as Cat Stevens and Dr Shaykha Haifaa Younis, an American Board Certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist who is also a prominent Islamic scholar, were also present. On Gaza, Anwar said the world must not forget the pain and suffering endured by the Palestinian people amid the ongoing war in Gaza. Meanwhile, Haifaa also shared her Gaza journey where the place transformed her into a more spiritual person and left an unshakable imprint on her heart. 'The ummah (the Muslim community) is going through a tough time. Gaza is bleeding. It hurts deeply when I raise my hands to Allah, I know everyone is doing their best, but still I ask, what more can we do. 'They (people in Gaza) taught me patience. Meanwhile, Quran expert Syeikh Dr Ahmad Aissa Hassan El-Ma'sarawi said the Madani knowledge gatherings held by Anwar every month should continue because it is similar to the practice of leaders during the time of the Rightly Guided Caliphs who made their homes available for the people to listen to knowledge gatherings. The scholar, who delivered a tausiyah (religious guidance) in Arabic and translated by Mohd Na'im, also advised Muslims to continue to adhere to the Quran and obey the commands and prohibitions as stated in the holy book. SST in construction industry among Dewan Rakyat's focus today
KUALA LUMPUR: The government's move to ensure ongoing construction projects are not affected by the Sales and Services Tax (SST) is among the highlights of the Dewan Rakyat sitting on Monday (July 28). According to the Order Paper on the official Parliament website, Yusuf Abd Wahab (GPS-Tanjong Manis) has asked the Works Minister to state the categories of construction projects exempted from SST and what measures the ministry is taking to ensure the tax does not impact ongoing construction projects. He also wanted to know whether the Madani government would consider granting a grace period before imposing the SST on the construction sector. At the same session, Mohd Hasnizan Harun (PN-Hulu Selangor) will ask the Minister of Housing and Local Government about the current policy on the freedom of foreign nationals to operate businesses in Malaysia, especially in the retail sector. He has also requested clarification on the action taken against premises registered under a citizen's name but fully operated by foreign nationals, including cases involving the use of a wife's name who is a citizen. Also to draw attention is a question on the abuse of stray animals, raised by Wong Chen (PH-Subang) to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security. Wong wishes to know whether the ministry will introduce a comprehensive national framework to address stray animal abuse and whether it will collaborate with non-governmental organisations, local authorities and animal welfare experts to implement an integrated and holistic approach. Following the Q&A session, the Dewan Rakyat sitting is scheduled to proceed with the tabling of two bills for first reading, namely the Cross-Border Insolvency Bill 2025 and the Education (Amendment) Bill 2025. GRS reaffirms support for MADANI government under Hajiji
KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) has reiterated its support for the Madani government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor stated that this decision stems from the federal government's responsiveness to Sabah's demands under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63). Hajiji, who is also Sabah's Chief Minister, highlighted that many of the state's requests had been approved and implemented, benefiting the people. 'I would like to reiterate that GRS remains supportive of the Prime Minister. Many of our initiatives and demands under MA63 have been approved by him,' he said during his winding-up speech at the Gagasan Rakyat Annual General Assembly. He contrasted the current administration's cooperation with past difficulties in securing approvals. 'Previously, it was very difficult to devolve powers or approve our requests... if the Madani Government is good for our state, why wouldn't we support it?' Hajiji added. The shift in GRS's support came after dissatisfaction with the previous federal government's stance on the 'Borneo Bloc' concept. 'I was shocked by those remarks... I reflected on it for a long time and eventually lost heart in them,' Hajiji explained.
