
London teen charged in ‘swarming-type' assault investigation

A London teenager has been charged in connection to an ongoing assault investigation in the city.
The initial incident took place on June 20 in a 'swarming-type assault'.
On Saturday, police arrested a 16-year-old boy. He is facing charges for assault causing bodily harm and disguise with intent.
Investigators are still looking for evidence in the case.

(File) A sleeping driver discovered in a parking spot reserved for police officers in Thunder Bay has been charged with impaired driving. Thunder Bay Police Service spotted the suspicious vehicle in the police parking lot at their headquarters on Balmoral Street shortly before 2:45 a.m. June 30. 'Officers observed a male asleep in the driver's seat of the vehicle,' police said in a news release Monday. 'Upon speaking to the male, officers observed multiple signs of impairment. The male was arrested and escorted into the police station.' The 38-year-old man refused to comply with the demands of a drug recognition expert officer. He is now charged with impaired driving and refusing to comply with a demand. He has been released on an undertaking and a future court appearance date, along with a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.

15-year-old arrested after driving into cruisers: London police
A 15-year-old London driver has been charged after police saw a suspicious vehicle early Monday morning in the north end of the city. An officer on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed with no lights on through a parking lot in the area of Fanshawe Park Road West and Richmond Street, shortly after 4 a.m. Police say the vehicle pulled onto Fanshawe Park Road East where it continued at a high rate of speed and did not turn on the lights for the vehicle. The officer activated the police vehicles emergency equipment in an attempt to stop the vehicle when the driver fled from police at a high rate of speed. Police did not pursue the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle a short time later on the side of the road in the area of Wintergarden Road and Cobblestone Street. Police say the driver, in an effort to flee police rammed two police vehicles before being arrested. No injuries were reported. As a result of the investigation, a 15-year-old male of London, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with the following offences: Fail to stop for police/pursuit; Take motor vehicle without consent; Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; Careless driving; and, Drive motor vehicle no license. The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on Aug. 11, 2025, in relation to the charges. Driver charged with assault in hit-and-run on Grande Prairie sidewalk
The Grande Prairie RCMP detachment can be seen in 2019. (Google Street View) A 22-year-old man has been charged for allegedly hitting a woman he knew with his vehicle in Grande Prairie. RCMP said officers were called to a hit-and-run crash at about 12:45 p.m. on Friday and found a woman with life-threatening injuries. Surveillance footage from the area showed the woman walking on the sidewalk when she was hit by the driver, who then left the scene. RCMP said the driver was identified as a man who knew the woman. He has been charged with aggravated assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop at the scene after knowingly causing bodily harm. The woman's condition had stabilized by Monday, Mounties said. The man was taken into custody and was scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice on Monday.
