
Amid Saiyaara success, Ajay Devgn pushes the release of Son of Sardaar 2 to August: ‘Good to have hits in theater', says co-star Vindu Dara Singh
On Saturday, JioStudios, the production house behind Ajay Devgn's film, shared the news on its official social media handles. The post read: 'The laughter riot just got a new date! Son of Sardaar 2 will now release in cinemas on 1st August 2025 worldwide.'

While the makers didn't share the reason behind the decision, actor Vindu Dara Singh confirmed in a comment that the decision was made post Saiyaara's success. Taking to the comments section, he wrote, 'The wait just got longer. Good to have hits in the theater. Welcome back Bollywood!' While the actor didn't name any film, the only film that's currently working at the box office is Saiyaara.
Film trade experts too believe that the makers have made a wise decision. Taran Adarsh took to his X handle to share the news and wrote, 'Wise decision.' The news also prompted responses from fans who speculated that Son of Sardaar 2 was pushed because of the 'Saiyaara effect.'

With its original release date on July 25, Son of Sardaar was set to face a box office clash with Sidharth Malhotra-Janhvi Kapoor's Param Sundari and Hombale Films' animated film Mahavatar Narasimha. Now the film will release two weeks before War 2. On July 31, Vijay Deverakonda's pan-India film Kingdom will hit the big screens.
Apart from Ajay Devgn, Son of Sardaar 2 also stars Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Kubbra Sait, and the late Mukul Dev.
That Mohit Suri film earned Rs 21 crore on its opening day. The film followed the momentum on the second day by earning about 15 crore as of 7 pm, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. With its exceptional opening, Saiyaara saw a massive increase in the number of shows across the country. The film shows increased from 3523 shows on day 1 to 4241 on day 2. An increase of 718 shows. Shows in Mumbai increased from 649 to 711, whereas in Delhi-NCR it went from 804 to 993.

Karan Johar lashes out at troll calling him nanny of nepo kids: Do some work
New Delhi, Jul 21 (PTI) Filmmaker Karan Johar, whose credits include films such as "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "My Name Is Khan", slammed a troll on social media for addressing him as "nanny of nepo kids" and called for lesser negativity. Johar shared a post on his Instagram handle on Monday praising "Saiyaara" actors, Ahaan Panday, who made his acting debut, and Aneet Padda, known for featuring in web series 'Big Girls Don't Cry' and the Kajol-starrer film 'Salaam Venky'. Directed by Mohit Suri, "Saiyaara" was released on July 18 and has garnered a positive response from the audience. Johar penned a heartfelt note and also called the film Suri's best directorial. In the same post, one of the users left a comment pointing out Johar, but the filmmaker was ready to answer. The comment under the post read, "A gaya nepo kid ka daijaan (here comes the nanny of nepo kids)". Johar responded by saying, "Chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithee negativity mat paal!
