Ozzy Osbourne felt like Keith Richards: 'Too tough to die'
The Black Sabbath frontman passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 'surrounded by love,' his family revealed in a statement.
No additional details about his death were revealed, but Ozzy had been battling Parkinson's disease since at least January 2020, and he appeared feeble in public as his health declined.

Cameron Glendenning, who worked with the Osbourne family for decades — first on their early 2000s hit reality show, 'The Osbournes,' and again in 2020 for 'Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne' — exclusively told The Post that he couldn't have been ready for the Prince of Darkness' death.
'I definitely didn't prep for it,' he said in a phone interview hours after Ozzy's passing was announced.
Glendenning started his career in Hollywood when he joined 'The Osbournes' at the end of its first season in 2002 until the show wrapped in 2005 as a camera operator and technical supervisor. He then teamed up with the heavy metal singer as the director of photography for Ozzy's 2020 'Nine Lives' documentary.
'I kind of thought he was going to be like a Keith Richards, man. I just thought nothing was going to kill him. You know, like, [he's] too tough to die,' Glendenning shared with The Post.
While the award-winning cinematographer acknowledged that the 'No More Tears' rocker 'lived a hard life for a long time,' he was still 'surprised' to hear the news.

'I felt like he really was one of those few people who was just such an absolute legend that you just, I don't know, maybe he was immortal, you know? I mean, he is,' Glendenning said.
Like Ozzy, The Rolling Stones' lead guitarist struggled with drug and alcohol abuse for decades during his fame.
Richards is now 81, just five years older than the late Black Sabbath legend.

This isn't the first time that someone has compared the two rock stars, either.
'I've always said that at the end of the world there will be roaches, Ozzy and Keith Richards,' Sharon said in 2010 after scientists discovered her husband had a 'genetic mutant' with a unique ability to absorb recreational drugs.
'He's going to outlive us all. That fascinated me — how his body can endure so much,' she shared at the time.

To Glendenning, Ozzy was more than a colleague and heavy metal superstar. He made everyone feel seen and heard, despite their status.
'He was such a working class kid and he was so down to earth and he remained that way forever, even like attaining the status that he grew to have, he was always that same person,' he told The Post.
'He never made you feel anything less than like an equal. And you know, I was 25 years old, I think, when I first started working with him. I was a kid, man, and I was looking at a guy that had been a legend for 40 years already at that point,' Glendenning continued.

'He wanted to have fun. It could have been me or it could have been the president of Sony Records. It didn't matter,' he recalled. 'That's what was so cool about Ozzy. He was just totally down to earth.'
Glendenning admitted that the last time he spoke to Ozzy was in January 2020 on the final day of filming 'The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne' — but he doesn't take any time with the Osbournes for granted.
'It's very special. I'll cherish it forever. I will cherish every experience I have with him and that whole family. They're all wonderful people and I'm just grateful to know them,' he said.

The Hollywood cinematographer also recalled the fun moments he had with Ozzy when the cameras weren't rolling.
He shared one gag, in particular, that the Godfather of Heavy Metal loved to play on pesky fans who insisted on showing up at the family's Beverly Hills, Calif., residence at all hours of the night during their time on reality TV.
'Ozzy had this like water sprinkler system. I wouldn't call it a water cannon, but it was like a water jet, and he had it plumbed right next to the buzzer for the front gate,' Glendenning explained. 'We had like a trigger for it, and we could see when these people would come up, too.'

'They would come up at, you know, midnight, one o'clock in the morning, and they would just ring the bell like, 'Hey, can we come in and say hello?'' he added, noting that Ozzy would often hang out with the crew in the garage when he was bored at night.
'He'd come in there and he would be like, 'Oh yeah, let's get him! Let's go get him!'' Glendenning recalled of his fun times with the singer.
Glendenning also told The Post that he's been in contact with his former colleagues about Ozzy's death.

'We're all definitely mourning him,' he said of 'The Osbournes' and 'Nine Lives' crew members.
'I'm definitely mourning, but I definitely have a huge feeling of gratitude just for being a part of that crazy time and place, and just being around a person like Ozzy was just so incredibly rewarding to me, especially [in] my earlier life. I can't even describe how f–king surreal it all was,' he stated.

The rocker was also a father to daughter Jessica, 45, and son Louis, 50, whom he welcomed with his first wife, Thelma Riley, and another son Elliot, 59, from Riley's previous relationship that he later adopted.
Ozzy married Riley in 1971. After 11 years of marriage, they divorced in 1982, the same year he married Sharon.
During their 40-plus-year union, Ozzy and Sharon had their fair share of ups and downs — which included the rocker being arrested for attempting to kill her while under the influence in 1989.

Biography
'It was probably the most frightened I've ever been,' Sharon admitted about the incident.
Despite his scary attempt, she decided to stay with Ozzy and remained by his side through several health issues that included his Parkinson's diagnosis, three operations, stem cell treatments and Hybrid Assistive Limb treatment in the years leading up to his death.

A wheelchair-bound Ozzy performed his last show with Black Sabbath at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England, on July 5.
Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon and Rival Sons also performed, with Sharon revealing she disinvited one band.
Ozzy and Sharon's youngest daughter, Kelly, also got engaged the same day as the farewell concert, and both were there to watch the emotional proposal when her fiancé, Sid Wilson, popped the question.
The late metal rocker was a grandfather to 10 children, including Kelly and Sid's son Sidney, 2, and Jack's four kids with his ex-wife: Pearl, 13, Andy, 10, Minnie, 7, and Maple, 3.

Truck driver spent 21 years creating a massive model of New York City out of balsa wood: ‘It was quite the process'
Is this NYC's next top model? Joe Macken has spent the past 21 years painstakingly erecting an intricate 3D replica of New York City by hand — using nothing but balsa wood, Elmer's glue and a whole lot of ingenuity. The finished product, unveiled recently in a viral TikTok video, features nearly a million buildings spanning all five boroughs — including the beleaguered Staten Island, and even parts of New Jersey, Westchester and Long Island. 'It was quite the process. I just kept building and building and building,' truck driver Macken, 63, told The Post of his sprawling pet project. 'I never thought in a million years I would ever get done with the whole, entire thing.' @balsastyrofoam300 Miniature model of New York City, carved out of balsa wood,21 years to build, almost 1 million buildings, 50ft, long,30ft. wide. ♬ original sound – minninycity04 At 30 feet wide and 50 feet long, the diorama is so gargantuan that he keeps it in a storage unit near his house in Clifton Park, about 20 miles north of Albany. It's not just the scale that boggles the mind. 9 'Every minute of spare time that I have, I just dedicate to doing that, and it just added up over the years,' said Macken. Hans Pennink The hyperrealistic homage is excruciatingly detailed, from Astoria's trademark row houses in Queens to the United Nations building and Central Park in Manhattan; the latter island took 12 years alone to create each skyscraper from scratch. 'If you're flying over Central Park and then you look [at] mine, it looks exactly the same,' the proud builder said. Macken's magnum opus has caught fire online, with TikTok viewers calling the 3D cartographer a 'living legend' and imploring NYC cultural institutions to showcase his Big Apple tribute in an exhibit. 9 Macken keeps his Big Apple replica in a storage unit near Albany. Hans Pennink Among the more than 12,000 comments — one labeled his work 'insanely impressive' — YouTube even weighed in from its official TikTok account, writing, 'A million buildings!? A museum needs to display this asap.' Not bad for a truck driver without any formal training in engineering or architecture. 'I knew it was my thing when I was doing it because, well, I was never into carpentry or anything like that,' Macken confessed to The Post. 'But I was into skylines.' 9 'I got better at it and more experienced, and I found faster ways to build it,' said Macken, shown in one of his social media posts. Joe Macken Macken, a Middle Village, Queens, native who moved upstate 20 years ago, told The Post that he began the project as a 'hobby' after getting inspired by seeing the Manhattan skyline out of his bedroom window. He also would watch old NYC documentaries featuring Rockefeller Center and iconic landmarks. It wasn't until April 2004 that he started creating his masterpiece, constructing one building a night, starting with the RCA building, aka Rockefeller Center. Before he knew it, he had 'built all' of 30 Rock, 'and then I started going uptown,' he said. 9 Macken shows off just a small segment of his mammoth city model. Hans Pennink 9 Macken said recreating Manhattan was especially difficult as he had to customize each skyscraper from scratch. Hans Pennink Just a year or two later, the whiddling wizard had 'built the whole Midtown [from] the Empire State Building, 34th Street, all the way up to 59th, all the way to the East River, and then to the Hudson.' After completing Manhattan in 2016, the model citizen then moved on to the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and finally Staten Island. The museum-quality craftsmanship is especially impressive since he used grammar school-grade materials from a local Michaels Art Supplies, opting for balsa wood after a friend told him that it's 'really light,' strong and 'easy to cut.' 9 'I can build a whole 30-by-20-inch section [with] 1,500 houses or 2,000 houses in maybe 12 to 15 hours,' said Macken. 'It used to take me weeks, like, 15, 20 years ago.' Hans Pennink He then used X-Acto knives for slicing structures down to size, Elmer's Glue for adhering them, and sandpaper and nail files for sanding while he colored the neighborhoods with acrylic paint using brush sets that cost $3.99. 'I don't need anything expensive to build this,' proclaimed Macken, who nonetheless estimated that he's shockingly spent between $20,000 and $40,000 on materials to date. Thankfully, Macken said that as his part-time but all-consuming project progressed, so did his technique. 'I got better at it and more experienced, and I found faster ways to build it.' He eventually went from meticulously constructing each building individually to mass-producing whole blocks by carving a row of houses out of 'the same piece of wood,' drastically saving time. 9 Macken's sprawling model — shown stacked up in a storage unit — also encompasses New Jersey and parts of Westchester. He even recreated Central Park and borough-connecting bridges. Hans Pennink 'I can build a whole 30-by-20-inch section [with] 1,500 houses or 2,000 houses in maybe 12 to 15 hours,' he said. 'It used to take me weeks, like, 15, 20 years ago.' Some incredulous TikTok viewers calculated that his million-building city would've required him to construct 137 buildings per day over 21 years. But he said they didn't factor in his time-saving technique. While the shortcut worked for the somewhat uniform outer borough dwellings — the Bronx took just two years, he told The Post — it didn't fly in Manhattan. Each skyscraper required special attention due to the diverse 'shapes and sizes,' he said. 'The Freedom Tower is tapered, so you have to sand that down and you have to cut,' said Macken, who populated his miniature Central Park with model trees from Hobby Lobby. 9 Macken claims to have spent between $20,000 and $40,000 on materials for the intricate model. Hans Pennink Composing the physical love letter to the Big Apple understandably required some juggling for a man with a wife, three kids, and two jobs: He delivers food and beverages during the week, while on the weekend, he drives luxury buses that chauffeur people to Yankees games and weddings. 'Sometimes I'd do all-nighters. I just build and build during any days off,' Macken said. 'Wake up early, I go right downstairs, and I work on it for about four hours on Saturday and Sunday morning, and I'm off Monday, so I do it then, also. 'Every minute of spare time that I have, I just dedicate to doing that, and it just added up over the years.' 9 Macken never set out to build the entire city. Hans Pennink Unfortunately, for now, Macken's pastime will remain just that. Despite calls for it to go on display, he said the mini-city is far too colossal to be shown at a museum — for now, anyway. 'I just made it so big that it's very hard to find a place to actually set it up and transport it,' Macken lamented. 'It would be a three-day process.' Until then, he plans to expand his creation and add other cities as well. His next fun-size urban project? Minneapolis, Minnesota — inspired, he said, by watching 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' as a kid. But unlike sprawling NYC, the much smaller Midwestern city should 'only take about two years,' he quipped with a hint of New Yorker side-eye.

Sarah Michelle Gellar 'wasn't supposed' to return for 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' sequel
Spoilers below for 'I Know What You Did Last Summer.' Talk about a last-minute twist. Sarah Michelle Gellar wasn't initially meant to return as slain beauty queen Helen Shivers in the new 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' sequel, according to costume designer Mari-An Ceo. Starbuck/AFF-USA/Shutterstock Ceo, who has also worked on other horror films like last year's 'MaXXXine,' revealed that Gellar was only on set to support her husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., who reprised his original role as Ray Bronson. Advertisement It was then that director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who is Gellar's close friend in real life, and writer Sam Lansky approached the actress about reprising her role as Helen for a surprise dream sequence cameo. 'Sarah Michelle Gellar wasn't supposed to be in our movie at all,' Ceo claimed exclusively told The Post. Gellar and Prinze, who married in 2002 and have since welcomed two children, co-starred together in the original 1997 'IKWYDLS.' Despite being brutally murdered by the Fisherman shortly after becoming Croaker Queen of the 1996 Southport Beauty Pageant, Gellar makes a short surprise cameo in the sequel when Madelyn Cline's character, Danica Richards, falls asleep at a police station. 16 Sarah Michelle Gellar as Helen Shivers in the original 1997 'I Know What You Did Last Summer.' ©Columbia Pictures/Courtesy Everett Collection Advertisement 16 Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her role as Helen Shivers for a surprise cameo in the new 'I Know What You Did Last Summer.' '[Robinson] said she wanted to do this dream sequence, so we replicated her look for the dream sequence, but we needed the old Croaker Queen crown that didn't exist anymore,' the costume designer explained.
