Hulk Hogan's estranged daughter Brooke skipped his funeral
Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke skipped his funeral Tuesday, not because of her estrangement with the wrestling star, but because she says he never wanted one to begin with.
The Hogan Knows Best alum, 37, shared beachside photos of herself and the twin infants she welcomed earlier this year with former pro hockey player Steven Oleksy as she explained that she wanted 'to honour him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him'.
'My father hated the morbidity of funerals,' said Brooke, who last spoke to her father in September 2023 and that year requested to be removed from his will.
'He didn't want one. And although I know people grieve in many ways — and I'm so grateful for all celebrations and events organised to honour him. … The only thing missing today was him in his pop up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset. Daddy, we honoured you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul. We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved.'
Brooke added that her daughter Molly — who reportedly shares the WWE star's middle name, Gene — 'loved the water' and will likely 'be a 'little fish' as you called me.
'We love you and honour the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby, and brought us closer to you. I pray you are at peace and know how dearly I love you,' she said.
Oleksy, 39, told Us Weekly l ast week that his wife decided to remove herself from Hulk's will because she and her ex-boyfriend, who is Black, 'never received a direct apology' for Hulk's racist rant about their biracial relationship in his leaked sex tape.
Local authorities have denied that there was 'anything suspicious' about the 71-year-old's late July death, despite Brooke's skepticism. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

Jimmy Kimmel secures Italian citizenship amid tiff with Trump
Jimmy Kimmel's Italian heritage from his mother's side gave him the option to double up his citizenship. Photo: TNS Jimmy Kimmel revealed he has his Italian passport ready, just in case. During an interview with comedian Sarah Silverman on her podcast, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host discussed how 'much worse' the president's second term has been for the country, without getting into specifics. He said he has obtained Italian citizenship as a result. Kimmel's Italian heritage from his mother's side gave him the option to double up his citizenship. 'What's going on [with Trump] is as bad as you thought it was gonna be,' Kimmel told his ex-girlfriend. 'I feel like it's probably even worse than [Trump] would like it to be,' he added. Kimmel has criticized Trump pretty much nonstop on his late-night show since before the president first won the White House in 2016. Trump has previously called Kimmel 'stupid' and recently said the ABC host would be the next to lose his job after CBS announced in July that it wasn't renewing Stephen Colbert's contract. Trump celebrated the news that The Late Show would end soon and predicted Kimmel would face the same fate. '[Kimmel] has less talent than Colbert,' the president posted on Truth Social. Trump doubled down during a press conference last week, saying anyone off the street could do a better job than Kimmel and other mainstream late-night hosts. Since Trump won in 2020, comedians Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres have re-settled in Ireland and England, respectively. Kimmel has been on a summer hiatus from his show and will return to his hosting duties in September. – Los Angeles Times/Tribune News Service

Swifties speculate Taylor Swift's new album drags Blake Lively
Ever since Taylor Swift (left) was named in the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni suit, the singer's reportedly kept her distance from her longtime friend. Photo: TNS Swifties are speculating that one particular song off Taylor Swift's upcoming album nods to the rumoured demise of her friendship with Blake Lively, amid the latter's legal battle with Justin Baldoni. The chatter comes on the heels of Swift on Wednesday revealing that the tracklist from The Life Of A Showgirl , dropping Oct 3, will feature a song titled Ruin The Friendship . Lively, 37, is currently locked in a litigious and publicity saga with 41-year-old Baldoni, her director and co-star in It Ends With Us , whom she claims sexually harassed her during filming. Lively also alleges Baldoni waged a smear campaign to undermine her accusations. Baldoni has denied all of Lively's claims, though he did include some reported texts in his since-dismissed US$400mil defamation suit. In one such correspondence, Lively allegedly referred to Swift as one of her 'dragons,' with Baldoni accusing her of leveraging the popstar's celebrity status in attempt to take over creative control of the film. Ever since Swift was named in the suit, she's reportedly kept her distance from her longtime friend. In June, a source told People that Swift was'working to trust Blake again.' While making her podcast debut during boyfriend Travis Kelce's hit New Heights show, Swift revealed she recorded the entirety of her new album in between shows on the European leg of her Eras Tour last summer. If true, that throws a bit of a wrench into the theory that Ruin The Friendship is about Lively, as she and Swift were last spotted together last October — on a double date, no less. Moreover, Lively didn't accuse Baldoni of any misdeeds until right before Christmas, and Baldoni didn't drag Swift into the mess until early this year. Still, that hasn't stopped fans from spreading the theory online, particularly in the wake of Swift being momentarily subpoenaed by Baldoni's legal team. Neither Swift nor Lively has publicly remarked on their friendship since It Ends With Us hit theatres in August. – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service
